This appears to be the smudged, torn remains of a letter, most of it lost or rendered illegible. It is written in a flowing, practiced hand.

[...] and so we [...] that we might be saved, Sir Captain, for the Northern cause was lost to us before His Royal Highness e’er brought the brand to the streets of Stratholme. And though you may think me less a man for my weakness in those days, in the glow of that flaming city was my will forged anew; in the heart of the flame did I witness humanity’s destiny.

The Knights of old are dead and gone, and our path cannot be marked by such antiquated ideals as mercy, benevolence and grace in the face of overwhelming odds. It is my wont that our destiny be forged by sword and flaming brand, by the subjugation and destruction of our foes at home and abroad. Let us light humanity’s way by the pyres we stack high with carcasses of our foes, the smoking ruins we leave of their homes. They bear us no good will nor have they e'er shown us mercy - naught but envy, hatred and an obscene lust for the flesh of our wives.

May the measure of a man be no more his chivalry, his manner, his leniency. Let it be the righteous fury he bears within his soul, let it be his devo[...], his [...].

Redux!
So, as the other thread is cluttered and overly long, I thought to start a new one to announce the beginning of a 'new era' for The Bloodied Crown.

I'm not going to go into details - whatever you can discern from the (assuredly relevant!) teasers above and below this post is all that will be included. I would say, however, that it's definitely a good time to get involved with the guild. If you feel that you have a character who would fit or you'd like to get involved in some plot with the Crown, this is an excellent time to contact me.

General Info
Our roleplay is mostly a mix of internal plots and external adventures. Marching, camping and exploring the areas of the world we are situated in is the norm as far as the latter goes, and this will often lead to PvP or PvE - albeit in the context of plot-based roleplay. The plotlines are more easily explained by suggesting a quick look over to the Argent Archives and reading up on the Sons of Thoradin and the Bloodied Crown linked stories.


We like people applying to the guild to be;
1) Well dressed. Shiny weapons and armour have a place, sometimes, but we like to try and look fairly gritty/realistic. Shiny eyed epic mounts tend to be a no no.

2) Good at communicating. You don't have to be the best at English, but we need to know what you're saying at the same time.

3) Laid back.

As a general rule, we want people to be at the very least level 20. We ride around a lot, as you can imagine, so level 40 is ideal. The guild is open towards accepting humans, dwarves, gnomes and worgen. Night Elves and Draenei have yet to be accepted into the Order, and it would take something special for that to be the case. We do accept Death Knights, but it takes a very specific type of Death Knight to be accepted.

Know ye that those who would transgress against the Order Bloodied shall be subjected to trial [...] the verdict of [...]

1. Assault: A person found to be harming, planning to harm or actively attempting to harm an Ordersman of the Order Bloodied shall be guilty of the crime of Assault. Upon conviction, the guilty party may be ordered to pay tithe to the Light, be cleansed by the scourge or the lash or be branded upon the right forearm with the word ‘SINNER’, to be determined by the severity of the crime.

2. Obstruction: A person found to be belaying the execution of an Orderman’s duty has committed Obstruction. The convict will [...].

3. Murder: A person found to have taken, attempted or planned to take the life of an Ordersman, or found in the process of carrying out the above, shall be guilty of Murder. The convict's head shall be taken from their shoulders by sword.

4. Malevolence: A person found to be performing acts that willfully endanger the innocent, such as the act of animating the dead, the worship of eldritch beings, dragyns, the Fel &c, has committed Malevolence. The convict shall be purified atop a pyre.

5. Impersonation: A person found guilty of impersonating a Brother of the Order Bloodied has committed Impersonation. Depending on severity the convict may have the means of their impersonation confiscated, pay a tithe to the Light, be cleansed by the lash or be branded ‘PRETENDER’.

6. Aiding & Abeiting: A person found to have willfully & knowingly given aid to an enemy of the Order (to be defined in Appendix A) or to have participated in the planning of same has committed Aiding & Abeiting. The convict shall be branded with ‘TURNCOAT’ upon their forehead or given to the flame, to be determined by the severity of the crime.

7. Recidivism: A person convicted by Order Law on three occasions has committed Recidivism. The convict shall be given to purifying water.

8. Paganism: A person found to have indulged in paganism through shamanic rituals or commune with elemental beings will be subject to the brand or the lash.

A convict sentenced to execution may request the [...], such that he may prove his worth in a trial by combat against a [...] depending upon severity and the judgement of presiding Ordersmen. One convicted of Malevolence will not be allowed this right.

Records of those convicted by the Order’s law shall be kept in the archives at the Order Commandery, Stormwind City. Those who wish to appeal their case and avoid a possible charge of Recidivism may seek an officer of the Order to plead their innocence.

There are a great many talented roleplayers in the Bloodied Crown and more every day. It remains the first port of call for characters from Lordaeron.

The new documents are interesting, because from what I read on the Argent Archives, I thought the Order was going down an ethical route. The list of crimes and punishments brutal enough to impress even Colton seems to suggest otherwise. One of the most engaging past plots for me was the schism between the liberal minded cadre (led by Keith) and the more Machiavellian officers (led yours truly, often supported by Albrect). Does this still exist? What do the bleeding hearts think of all the promised brandings?

Incidentally, by my reckoning I'm guilty of 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7, so just necromancy and pagan rites to go for a full house. Am I likely to get any roleplay out of it, being a past offender?

I definitely agree with that, it made for some very interesting roleplay. That kind of conflict does exist, still, even if not quite as vocal and violent - Nerilee has been surprised a few times by finding herself seemingly being the conservative one. That should tell you just how broad the spectrum is for liberalism in the Crown.

As for what they think, well. This is just as much a teaser for our new plot for them as it is for those outside of the guild. We will see (and I'm definitely looking forward to knowing the answer myself!).

Good question, and one that we'll likely have to argue IC at some point. With Nerilee absent a bit more often, he might find himself lacking supporters on the greyer side of things.
