I've made a tally chart of preferred days, speaking to some of the guilds involved. Here's the current progress:
Monday: 1
Tuesday: 2
Wednesday: 2
Thursday: 1
Friday: 4
Saturday: 2
Sunday: 3

- So far it looks like Friday is the most promising day. Would anybody like to add on this?

IMPORTANT: Due to the vast majority of guilds saying they prefer Friday, I've had to jump ahead and re-date to the following Friday after the originally allocated Monday. That means the event will now take place on the 5TH OF AUGUST up from the 1st. Sorry for any inconvenience but i've got to go with the majority. This also gives us an extra week(ish) to organize. The current date is sticking BUT NOT 100% CONFIRMED. It may change in the future. I'd like to continue asking you guys what preferred days you'd like. Feel free to contact me in-game at any given time; you'll most likely find me leveling my rogue (Wáldo, accent ''á'').

UPDATE:
The world pvp event will be officially taking place in one week from tomorrow.
The confirmed date and time is: FRIDAY 5TH AUGUST @ 1900 SERVER TIME.
It is not too late to get involved! There are two events up on the calendar set on the above date and time for both the Alliance and Horde. If you want to be invited into the calendar event then you can contact one of the following people in-game who can invite you.

--I don't suppose anyone knows of a vent server that could support such a massive group? If not we might have to go without, or at least, squeeze as many people onto a server as possible, perhaps even two servers if necessary, one for each faction?

BI server could be used for the horde side probably, but will have to check that and it's size. I do not suggest we use it for alliance though, lol.

If it doesnt interfere with the RBG's im sure some Covenant members are gonna say hai.

If the lag wont ruin the event that is, which it probably will.

Is the time definitely set in stone at 19:00 server? As that it too early for me.

Something like 20:30 server would be about as early as I could make, and attempt to convince Covenant to do rateds afterwards. However if that is a problem, then I shall just have to hope the even is a success, and that another will happen in future!

Invite will begin at 19:00, when the event will actually start, well I can't say for deffinate.

Ah comon, surely you can make some time to get your asses kicked, ehmm, I mean compete for an hour or so. More then enough to do rated after! I know we will.

Make sure you go to a 85 zone else the server till lag like a mother..

this is from past experince when i did this at lv 70.

UPDATE: With only two days to go, I'd like to provide you with the schedule of what's supposed to be happening over Friday evening.

18:30: Make sure you are online and ready to go.
18:45: Invites will begin.
19:15: Invites will stop. (Please note, if groups are not full I will resort to trade chat.)
19:20: Your faction will be summoned into the battle zone. But hold your horses...
19:20: Introduction from myself, basic rules, quick Q&A session, preferable over vent (So I can address both factions at once, I don't mind jumping vent servers either)
19:25: You will be asked to switch you PvP on.
19:30: On the dot - both factions will be released from their respective ''bases'' and the battle will commence!
