Hi guys!

So,some of you may have noticed i had a forum asking was Argent Dawn a good server.Well,i got a few responses and gathered enogu info about AD.But there is another RP server out there i would like to transfer to,and i dont know which is the right decision to make.

Thats why im asking you guys,how are things in The Earthen Ring.Do you have alot of events?Respect towards new players?Do you RP often?Are there evil guilds o.O?And how do you like your server?

First I'd like to promote the Lakeshire community. It's a great community in Lakeshire who has RP nearly all the time ( It may vary ).
Now with events I'll say randomRP is what you'll most likely come across, but serverwide events happen, for example the Blackwald partisans made an event not so long ago ( http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2384709527 ), and there was a cookie making contest not so long ago! Also the Horde appears to have some get together on Fridays, join the Alliance and let's ruin that!
If you want to have events everyday one would have to join a guild such as the Stormwind Infantry who have events every day ( Self promotion is nice ), or the. *Shiver* Kor'kron.
There are "evil" guilds, such as the Rose ( Actually I am not even sure OOC if they are evil, they are THAT good )
Respect towards players may vary from person to person. I haven't really seen anyone go all out and say in OOC "(( You are a NOOB at RP!))", but some people might do that ( There are idiots and geniuses on every server! )
I like my server.

Really committed evil guilds are quite rare on ER, but there are some talented evil individuals. On the whole I have found this server very mature and 'civilised' in terms of its roleplay; there's a general consensus on how coherent and plausible RP should be. I am personally sometimes a little nostalgic for the days of twenty jailbreaks per second vampires running around everyone shooting everyone and feel they made up in CONFLICT! and ACTION! what they lacked in being anywhere near sensible, but take that as you will.

The server's main flaw is simply that it is quite depopulated and while there are usually enough people to RP with there's rarely much 'fresh meat'. In comparison with AD I think we have fewer people and less energy; the trade-off (judging by the horror stories I hear from over there) is a generally higher standard of play.

We're welcoming to new players, as far as I know. There was a recent controversy about how 'cliquey' Earthen Ring was, in which a player described the experience of being repeatedly rejected on an anonymous, experimental alt. But plenty of people pitched in claiming the opposite and someone even ran the same experiment only to find themselves included in everything they tried their hand at. The only thing to be learned from that affair was that roleplayers can never agree on anything.

I think you'll always find a welcoming and gracious community regardless where you choose to settle on ER.

In terms of cliquey-ness as Barlow put it. I think Alliance is a lot more free in terms of general RP, purely to due to much larger and concentrated population.

Horde is of significantly lower population than on Argent Dawn, however there are several RP-focussed and dedicated guilds which could offer RP.

If you wish to set up your own guild on ER I'd heed Rurghk's advice in a different post, which is to find a group of dedicated players... a sort of "Core" of the guild if you will. This is how horde RP guilds survive and blossom.
