I write this as a standard in the reports i make
Name: Time/Date: Location: Server: Details: About if it's worth the trouble i would say yes and no. If the bot you report is on a hacked account it will be removed very fast and given back to the owner. But if it's just a normal player that tries to get ahead by having his computer control everything at odd hours, it might take months before actions is taken towards the account. |

I was reporting a lot, but then i said meh you can't empty a lake with a spoon.

If we don't report (suspected) bots, Blizzard won't take any action. They need us just as much as we need them.
If we stop reporting them, the world (of warcraft) will be over-run by bots. |

it feels like hitting your head against a brick wall, and doesn't seem to have any effect. All you can do is keep it up. Don't waste your time writing lengthy explenations. Just state their accountname, server, location in game, and time in game. With a small paragraph long description of why you suspect a bot. Doing wierd stuff isn't enough though. A guy running into a tree for 20 mins can just be afk. But if he's following a constant path. Seems to be on too long write a few servertimes in there. Don't open multiple reports on the same guy, they just get ignored. If you provide all information in one ticket you've got the best chance of making an impact.

You know what beer, if you don't want to report them yea then thats just you... doesn't mean it have to be so for everyone else, Blizzard is a big company and can't always be there for your 'reports' sure action is taken, but it is hard to keep such a big game clean, what did you expect?

Simply open a ticket and put the name/realm of the offender as well as the date/time/location you witnessed them violating our policies.
Although in certain circumstances it may take a while for us to take action on that particular account, each report we receive goes a long way to reducing the overall problem. These reports help us to gather statistics, gauge trends, fix exploits, design new game mechanics and construct efficient policies. These reports also help us to recover accounts for legitimate players (many of the 'bots' you see in-game are on compromised accounts), and prevent further damage on the accounts. In fact, we may even be able to recover a persons account, fix/restore/roll-back any damages caused during the compromise before the account holder even knows they have been compromised. This happened to my Brother once (don't worry I got him an authenticator now). One day he logged in and we were talking to each other on voice comms and he was like, "Erm, why is all my gear and gold in my mailbox?". Because of a good Samaritan making a report to our Game Master team, he didn't even know he had been compromised, a 'botter' was removed from the game and my Brother's only inconvenience was standing at a mailbox for 15 mins on each of his characters unloading his items and gold. I wish I knew who that reporter was, because I'd like to thank him and give him a pat on the back. |
