Our server is dead.

Seriously what's the deal with blizzard and their amazing persistence of not merging servers?
Do they want to lose even those few players that are playing right now? There is nothing going on anymore! |

SS has always been a low pop server vs some other realms

Really? I can remember 150+ queues when trying to get on the server. Me and my friends even had alts on Sylvanas. That was pre-TBC though, so it has been a while. |

LESS QQ

i think his point is, when you had 150+ queues people had 500+ |
1. That is wrong. Sunstrider was not always a low populated server. In its glory days it was High, or probably even Full at some point. 2. The point in writing this piece of "information" is...? Do you expect people to stop whine about the sad sad sitation of this realm, just because there are realms out there with more players? Fail logic is fail.. On a more general note: Sunstrider is a complete ghosttown nowadays, at least on alliance side, and people will not stop to QQ about this untill the problem is fixed - or - untill the players themselves quit the game.. wich sadly enough seems more likely than the first alternative. Blizzard needs to realise that they have lost too many players to keep all these servers running. And they need to wrap their greedy minds around the fact that paid character transfer is, and always has been, a bad solution. First of all its expensive to move all your chars, as most people tend to have several alts. Secondly its just plain wrong to give even more money to a company that seems to care so little about their customers wishes. And third, it does nothing to create balance between the factions. Ive seen posts like this on so many realms forums and I see so many realms listed as Low, that there can be no doubt about the fact that merging, or some other similar sotion, is absolutely necessary if they wanna keep this game alive for the 2, 3 years to come. I log on to my old main here some times just to hang around a bit and check out how SS is nowadays. I try to find things to do and people to get to know, but theres nothing. And all I end up doing is sitting there like some miserable emo, reminiscing about Artifact, Mysth, Randoms, Crazy 88s, etc etc, all the people that used to be here, the great community feeling, the insane forums, the crowded IF, world PVP... And then I wake up, remembers that this is only a game, and logs the hell out of this godforsaken place. I usually ends up getting back onto my new main chars realm, wich still is Medium populated, and quite tolerable still. ;) But alas! even at that realm Ive seen changes this year. We have lost a lot of players over there as well, and theres only one 25man raiding guild left on alliance side (wich is the biggest faction at that realm). The numbers of people quitting this game must be rapidly growing. Wake up Blizzard! (And yes yes, we know that youre" aware of the problem" and blah blah. But this is one of those cases where words really cant replace actions). |

just started in alliance and i can tell that in sw are 50-70 players AH is dead
U cant to buy somthing or sell in normal price etc. I have Main In Horde (ss of course) and population in horde is 400 500% more then in alliance blizz must do somthing or this ruins the game ... Trade Chat : Nothing Heppening no Selling no LFG LFM or somthing hours I was Inspecting Ppl Achieves And i dont saw 1 (just 1) player with Firelands Achieve on Normal ofc. few ppl have Defenders of Shattered Worlds cause 3 or 4 guilds are raiding another doing nothing... |
There are a few guilds stuck on 6/7 Emo & Boarderline Insanity for an example. BI raid BoT/BwD weekly to help gear up players, but just had a big split, lots of the Raid Team 1 (Our first 10Man group) left. I'm personally in Raid Team 2, as a Resto, and I stop when they get to Bale, as up till now I've not had a DPS offspec. I've only ever played resto, so it's a big change for me, being a ratehr new player in terms of it all. Group two has 4/7 Progession. I'm assuming only Renewal and Thundercats have gone 7/7, while Celestial Darkness have failed to beat Shannox (My assement of that was to low DPS, based off the recount that was sent to me). Nightshade are still about but lost alot of players in a server move, they are looking to FL raid. On top of this I can think of 1-3 more Raiding guilds. If you guys wanted to, you could come over and join *Wink wink nudge nudge* And help a few guilds push up abit more in FL's, it would only help us out alot. |

40 man content required people to work together for the benefit of the group. Sure the guild was full of friends, people that were ok and always some that you could not stand but you got on with it to get the content done. In TBC my ignore list had about 10% of Crazy Eighty Eights by the end of WotLK in was more like 40%.
The game has changed with the introduction of cross realm looking for group and soon looking for raid. There is no great incentive to work with a guild anymore, its possible that guild perks was an attempt to counter the breakdown of the guild system but the fact that you keep heirlooms, cauldrons etc when you hop means once you have gained exalted there is no real penalty for leaving. The game has changed guilds are not as important to the casual player as they once were. The following comment may well not resonate with many of you but I’m old enough to live through the change with Thatcher’s Britain, the way society changed is somewhat similar to the way the game is going. Low population polarizes the effect but its only a matter of time before it effects higher populated factions. Alliance side does not have massive numbers even if we do have a some nice folks who can punch a few keys and get along with others. The problem is many of these players have lives, families, responsibilities, jobs and this game is an idle distraction. Maintaining a regular raid two nights a week can be challenging if a couple of core raiders make a decision to move on half way through a tier. It then takes a number of weeks to find and gear up replacements then the nerf comes. . . I’m fairly sure Blizzard will undertake a round of rationalization in the second quarter of 2012. I don’t think we need 109 realms anymore. Either free transfers will be available alliance side or Sunstider will be closed and we will all be offered new homes. |
