I know you only asked between TS and Vent but I would strongly urge you to consider what the above replies stated, and give mumble a go. Reasons : *It's better quality than both vent and ts (imo) *It uses less memory than both *Latency is much better than both ts and vent *It's cheaper than both, plus like ts you can download the software for free and host your own server with it, unlike vent (legally) |

Vote goes for mumble as well.

raidcall is also a good alternative

I think more guilds use Ventrillo than Teamspeak, so more people are likely to already have it installed and know how it works and such.

We use TS3. Dont ask me why. It does its job fine so I guess that's satisfying enough for us :)

Mumble is substantially the best VoIP Atm, also cheaper if you search around a bit.

Out of Teamspeak and vent; Teamspeak, It's more user friendly and the quality of pretty much everything is better.

There's little difference between TS3/Vent from my experience. I've never had problems on any internet connections with any of them.
I have used Mumble too, when I hosted guild server on my computer. This will require a fast internet connection with public IP (can be dynamic thanks to dyndns and things liek that). Nobody had any problem. As far as I know there are payed Mumble servers and they are significantly cheaper than Vent3/TS3 ones. It's certainly an option to consider. |

Mumble is better imo, It is the only one I know of that has an ingame window, you can set to who is speaking, and as they speak their name appears, meaning you know almost immediately who has issued a raid command. i.e. Raid leader, or raid member. It makes the possibility of mistakes less likely.
apart from this, there is also a text to voice sim, that announces ( in a soft women's voice) who has joined your channel, and a self mute feature when your snacking between bosses. altogether the best voice interface I have experienced, including vent, ts |

Our guild has Ventrilo, but thats because i got some cheap hosting with a comp. i work for.
A co-guild we worked with, used Mumble. The feel of those two guild where kinda different, since our ventrilo is crowded with ppl all the time, and they only used mumble when raiding.. So I dont know what to reccommend. |

never heard of mumble.
using vent for 6 years in our guild. Too used to to change. raidcall is poop |

we always use vent and it works perfectly. :)

TeamSpeak 3 - much more user friendly than vent and with less issues and better quality. You can also set up your own server, which makes it completely free (though setting it up seems to be difficult - not sure if there are any good guides online).
I would advise against Mumble as most Europeans use either vent or TS - it will just create unnecessary problems in case you wanted to PuG. |

My vote goes for Mumble. Horde guilds ive been in have been using it and it works better imo then TS3 or Vent.
