Clearly I am progressing, so advice welcome, however, I have the required stats for normal mode raiding and everyday HC's

Also, I am a 1-2 hour a night player, not every night.

7/10. Looks solid with a few suggestions that might help as you start raiding.

I would swap the gems in your prismatic slots (belt and relic) for straight 40agi gems. Put tuskars vitality or some other movement speed increase enchant on your boots. Now days 130 agility on staff is better then mongoose I believe.

I think you are missing a shoulder enchant there.

Drop primal madness and take brutal impact instead - having a 10 second interrupt is really important (as a tank you want to have control over whether those interrupts are landing !)

Apart from that you are doing great. I would suggest pushing for spots in raids doing BWD or BOT now or for tanking any FL trash runs. Time to get out of 5 mans :-)

Looking at your progression tough you seem to be doing heroic so I guess you forgot to log out in tanking gear.

@Izi: I'd say... 7/10

gear looks good, Baleroc sure hates dropping his helm doesn't he ;) gear/reforged well, I'd say swap those trinkets though, double stam trinket isn't really needed these days, try using Mirror from TB, and then if you get lucky in FL either Scales of Life, or spidersilk Spinder if you can get them.

as for spec I'm not 100% up to date on warriors, but isn't it GREAT threat to go down into Arms for Deep Wounds? I know the warrior tank in my guild does that and he's frakkin impossible to pull from :p

10/10 I would hand out though I don´t know that much about warrior gearing

I shall give you 10/10 very nice gear :)

I'm no expert on DK tanks, However i would like to point a few things.

- 60 Stamina on gloves? get the Puissant Dream Emerald, mastery is good, if anything its better! Also replace the 20 parry 30 stam gems to Fine Ember Topaz.
- Invest a little more in enchants if possible such as chest instead of 55 stam get 75 stam as
The gloves I'm going to leave due to you needing to at least have a hit with Deathstrike for heal/blood shield as we all know if you're deathstrike misses you will take damage like a noodle

while on the subject on enchants change the leg enchant unless you are getting the tier 12 ones soon then its understandable, however agility no longer provides any usage on tanks, For the boots however i don't see why you got the 30 stam minor speed increase you got boneshield with glyph is its kinda pointless in someway, personally I would get the 50 mastery ones.

All in all I'm giving 7/10 took one off because of stamina gem lol

For the next tank that may or may not mark me i wont put the engineer enchant on cloak it serves no usefulness towards any encounter or in anything i do.

I'm almost certain you don't get CTC capped wearing that set, even if it was potentially within reach, so I'll give you 9/10. The direction is correct, anyway.

Consider changing the reforge of Theck's ring from hit -> mastery to dodge -> mastery.

You'd also be better off with the 365 quest reward cape if considering CTC coverage. Either that or the 372 one from heroic Al'akir... If only it was easier to convince one's guild it'd be fun to go there.


To the one rating me, I know I'm a dozen or two rating points over the cap (elixirs+dodge food) with some to spare in reforges but cba changing my gems for something that minor before I've seen Sunday's drops.

Thanks for reading and happy rating, don't rate compared to yourself, rate compared to my relative ability to get gear, for example my 20 ZA/Zg means I cannot be full T12 seeing as this tier I have done about 5 of them because of exams etc!

Hi guys, I've been tanking 5 mans (norm) for a while with no real troubles but starting heroics has been an issue... I'm not that experienced to rate other people but would love someone to rate/criticise my tank.

I'm always looking for some improvements ;D

@Tógal: I'm not sure how important Mastery is for DK Tanks, but i doubt it's so bad that you should reforge out of it.

For starters, you are wearing mostly dps greens and blues with crit and haste, but as you said, you are still progressing. But start getting gear with Mastery, Dodge & Parry (i believe Expertise is good for DK tanks as well?). Again, i don't know that much about DK's.

I would suggest, that if tanking normal 5mode dungeons isn't a problem at all, learn the Heroic tactics and tank those, let your group know that you are relatively new to tanking, and go at a pace you feel comfortable with.
It's best to get guild members to go with you, as they are more likely to help you out with advice during a run, and much less likely to quit after a wipe etc.

Firenes. Assuming that you do not raid, your gear is quite okey. You miss some enchants though, which certainly adds up for a few min points, also the PvP items you're wearing are a thorn in the eye, but I assume you just use that because of playing random BG's with them?

All in all.

Missing Enchants -3. (6 Missing enchants is quite a bit)
Pvp items -1. (Up to disscusion)

About me, I started playing again about 5 -6 weeks ago after a 1,5-2years break. But I think I am doing reasonably well so far. I am in a guild proggresion through normal FL now ( :( Nerfs ).

5 - 6 weeks? In that context a solid 10/10.

Damn, do you guys get drops? I thought those were only rumours :D

Edit: I'll be in raid/troll/PvP gear. Trust RNG :D

Well I started, dinged after 2,5 day 85. And pretty much farmed HCs and ZG/ZA's first week (Week off work, ow yea baby) Got everything what I could get from Justice and the instances. (Cept the ZA shoulders, that took ages :s). And I did a BWD run in the first week too I think. And second week I got into a new guild with some players who had quit for few months - I guess I got luckly on that guild right there.

And now am tanking all raids, and we're progressing through FL 5/7 normal at the moment. I am pretty dissapointed in these nerfs, but then again I started very late so can't complain. I have been lucky on drops, this is true. I had the sword from first Beth kill and the trinket on third.

Anyho - You enchanted and gemmed your gear properly, I am not sure about your trinkets because they are generally no tank trinkets, but on the bird in FL (If that is where you logged out) I can understand the use of it. I would've used Windwalk rather then Landslide though. But all in all looks like a solid tank toon.
