Recount inaccurate?

I'm no genius with the math or anything, but I wanted to try working out my DPS myself.
I reported boss fight segments to /officer (because nobody is there to use it in my guild) and used the values from the report to calculate my DPS. I worked out how much time between the start time of the fight and the end time and broke it down to seconds. I then divided my reported damage done by the amount of seconds I'd worked out for fight duration. There may be more here that I'm not aware of in which case this thread is pointless, but according to my math, Recount isn't reporting DPS accurately. See below: Corla: Start time: 16:36:00 End time: 16:37:38 Duration: 98s Damage Done: 2087218 Recount reported: 22826.1 DPS I calculated: 21298.1 DPS Karsh Steelbender: Start time: 16:45:32 End time: 16:47:10 Duration: 98s Damage Done: 1950873 Recount reported: 21381.8 DPS I calculated: 19906.8 DPS Beauty: Start time: 16:51:24 End time: 16:54:00 Duration: 156s Damage Done: 1980043 Recount reported: 15034.5 DPS I calculated: 12692.5 DPS It may look stupid, I'm arguing about higher values, but I'd really prefer knowing for sure what the numbers REALLY are. |

Skada starts tracking from when the enemy is engaged. Recount starts tracking when you do your 1st strike. I find Skada better too.

Well, it's both usefull imo. On fights where there's a lot of downtime like damage/time isn't really useful either.
It's up to you to interpret the numbers. |
