I think something like this should be implemented, but only for RP realms.

Not only for RP realms, because then RP realms would get more OOCers coming simply for the cross faction comms. Come on Blizz, at least respond to this in a blue post. We know you can see it, you know we want it.

And please, don't make it go off when you flag for PvP because that would leave RPPvP realms out.

Edit: I would also suggest having the 'neutral' language be common, and the Alliance only language (equivalent to orcish) being 'human' or something.

Adding my vote for this, i like the idea of having to learn the language first via a quest line or similar, and having it as opt in by both partys before it works is also a good idea.

Okay so they added a new mage glyph in the BETA which lets you understand you allies native language.

Why not make it so it could make it so that it allows you to understand your enemies language as well? That way if you have the buff you can understand them and if they want to talk back they can just add the glyph. That way there would be no griefing.

I do like the idea overall, but there are some major flaws to it, what prevent it from happening.

So this is the situation: Alliance players are gathering more people to raid the Horde's faction leaders. They are asking for more people from the Trade Chat to join them, and there is ONE TROLL, who thinks: "Hey, why don't I just go and yell that they are attacking Orgrimmar around that place? Their raid would be doomed!"

Sure, it is possible to do this already in RP and Normal servers, but not in Rp-Pvp or Pvp. There are two solutions for this: let it be as it is, and risk the PvP aspect of the server, or remove it from PvP and Rp-PvP servers. However, doing this would leave the people playing on these servers to feel kinda "left out". I support the idea myself, but this is one problem that needs a solution.

PvP is PvP. If people want to moan at the other faction than fight them, let them. They can just be reported for harrassment and get their cross-faction communication ability removed till they learn how to act properly.

This is awesome, I hope it will be implemented. I ultimately see no problems that really matter.
