Inheritance!

Good evening / morning, forums!
11 days to go till Inheritance, the last book in the Inheritance Cycle, is released and I myself am pumped. Eragon was the first fantasy book I read, and I fell in love with it and the genre. I have the hardback covers of all of the books now, and have pre-ordered Inheritance from my local bookstore. I was wondering if anyone has read the books and is as excited as I am, if they're not fans but like the series anyway, or are asking themselves "What the heck is the Inheritance Cycle?". |

Well i will not say that im overly exciting, like I am for Skyrim, but with Inheritance being released on the 8th and Skyrim on the 11th, I doubt that I will leave the house that weekend. But I preorded it and im looking forward to reading it and finishing the cycle.

I am of mixed opinions. I really enjoyed the first two books and was really looking forward to the conclusion, only to find it got split into two books after waiting soooooooo long (cos they wanted to make a rubbish film version of book 1). So now I am unsure whether I can even be bothered to get the last book... I want to know how it ends though... Arrrggghh... decisions are the worst! |

Shammoz...it's possible that the writer may put in an ingenious plot never before seen. I mean get this one. The hero ,right, goes into the bad guys place, yeah and (You'll love this) he gets his butt kicked by the bad guy and his servent. Then, yeah, the servent turns on the master moments before he kills the hero and the hero kills the bad guy, but the servant dies.
I know what WILL they think of next. (Please note the Sarcasm) |

I bought it in the end.... have to know how it all ends, it's damn heavy though... |

I got mine almost 2 weeks ago, and finished it after a week or so. Must say I enjoyed much of it, but I was disappointed by the ending.

I didn't even know it was coming out, saw it in Tesco a couple of days ago and bought it, got to finish A Dance with Dragons first before I start it, looking forward to it! :)

Just finished it,
Amazing book but it seems that a book that could be 400 pages was 850, other than that no complaints. |

When reading the Inheritance cycle it always felt like the books just dragged on (the first one to a lesser degree) and trying to make the journey a significant part of the storytelling (very Tolkienesque). In that department I've always felt like Paolini should have taken some inspiration from Feist who is notorious for skipping a few beats every now and then.
Could anyone imagine how much longer Magician would've been if every part of each journey had to be expanded upon and detailed to a nauseating degree? If you can then you've probably already read Inheritance. :-) In short the story is too long, but not without charm for a fantasy-light tetralogy. |
