Should Rogues beat Mages in duels?

Equally skilled.
I know they got semi-equal chances, but with this I ask: Is the duel favoring the Mage, or the Rogue? I want your opinion! |

A sub rogue in 4.3 will cause havoc to a frost mage with the damage buffs to sub. On equal terms gear and skill, I would expect the Rogue to win even now.

I would like to think that rogue vs mage 1on1 is pretty balanced

Shattered Barrier, Reacitve Barrier
without those talents its not easy to win with rogue. |

hmm i think frost mage can win rogue. I saw when mage defeated a rogue in duel. Rating of rogue 2,2k so he knew how to play right.
its not an answer. Everybody knows it. He means about class possibilities if both are smart (players). |

appearantly in a perfect world there is one class, no gearing and a set of preset skills and/or abilities |

Mages totally own rogues im sorry. It's 1v1, it doesn't matter I'd like to add. But in my experience only the very best rogues have a chance against the decent mages. Blink step, IB if he cloaks when close to u, always keep your barriers up on and put them up on cd. He'll save trinket for deep most likely, assume that it will be trinketed. This lets you sheep when you want. Make sure to blizzard if he sits in smoke so he can't restealth. Kite them out of step range and learn to time when they'll be coming into range so you can be ready to blink before he can poison you. Soon as u can deep him when trinkets been used, pop your dmg trinket and mess him up. Reset with sheep + evocation if necessary. Easy really, you've got mirrors and ring and you don't even really need them.

Yes it's an excellent way of controlling a rogue and making him blow his cooldowns before you actually kill him. Just casting it will force him to vanish / smoke or cloak. If you hit sheep straight after you blink step he's unlikely to get into gougeing range (watch for mind numbing), at least without good use of sprint. He has no way to escape if he's used trinket on deep and 8 seconds is enough time to get range and wait out poisons. It's simply a cooldown game where you must force the rogue to blow x2 vanish, x2 smoke and x2 cloak before you can kite him around in circles for an easy win.

Your style of writing, grammar and punctuation tell me you are an extremely intelligent person capable of in-depth thoughts and reasoning whose opinion should be valued very highly. |

In an arena environment with potential LoS objects, I believe a rogue would actually have a pretty decent chance. With no LoS, mage should win it fairly easily.
