Can't see my AddOns button.
|
Hello
I just started playing again today after a year and my issue is that I cannot see my Addons button in the characters screen. First of all, I do only have one wow folder, 2nd of all, none of the addons are out of date as I downloaded them today so they all should work properly. So I'm kind of stuck right now. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Hello.
If the game is unable to detect addons it will not show the addons button at the character screen. When you installed your addons, did you do so manually or using a tool such as CurseClient? If you did so manually, make sure you have placed your addons inside the Interface/AddOns directory. |

What happens when you rename your WTF directory to WTF_backup?

The game should have been able to re-create it on its own once you start it up.
Please make sure you are running as administrator. Right-click on the game icon, and then select "Run as Administrator". |

Most times when there is no addon button in-game, it is because the addons where not placed in the correct folder.
Check the path of the addon toc file; it should be like this: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\AddonName\AddonName.tocIf there is an additional folder in there, the addons will not be picked up by the game. (Most often there is a second subfolder when you unzip an addon, so the path ends up being: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\AddonName\AddonName\AddonName.tocIf this is not the issue, let us know, which operating system you use. |

I think there is some problem with Vista and having the addons in the Program Files folder.
Have you tried running the game as administrator as Danellos suggested? Otherwise, are you sure the folder C:\Users\Public\Games\World Of Warcraft\Interface\Addonsdoesn't exist? If it doesn't, maybe try creating it. If these do not solve it, I think I'm out of suggestions. |

I seem to recall one of the major updates copied the WoW folder to the c:\users\public folder on Vista. You possibly have two copies of the game and are installing the addons in the wrong folder.
