Gamers who don't like metal
|
For a long time now, I have been looking for gamers who like music other than metal.
I'm sure there's at least one person somewhere in the world who fits this category... but as of yet I have not discovered who it is. If you know of anybody who actually likes music that is not metal, please let me know.... |
|
I don't mind metal. I listen to it often. However I also am an avid fan of epic themes, piano and I like a bit of classical music every so often. According to the title I dont fall in your target audiance but according to the text in your post I do... Clarification please.
|
|
Clarification? eek, ok, the post wasn't really serious enough for that. I just titled it as I did because 'Gamers who like music other than metal' was a bit too long for a topic header.
However I can say right here and now that I was looking for people who might like some metal... but also had other tastes in music besides. It would seem you fit the category. The real point in the post is that ever gamer I ever meet seems to listen to metal and nothing but... It's hard to understand why it's so univeral among gamers. |

If you check various vids on WCM etc, I'd say there are about the same amounts that use mainly electronic tracks, compared to the ones using metal or hardcore.
As for me, I am a huge metalhead, but I also like EBM, EDM (with moderation, I cannot stand electrohouse a least bit), minimalist/ambient/noise, shoegaze, punk etc. |

Tastes differ. I don't like vocals at all in any kind of music. Unless used in a choir I don't think the human voice is a good instrument. |
|
I partially agree with that, at least I do not consider singing 'music' myself and there are many cases where they make an otherwise good song bad.
I prefer vocals being subdued as it usually is in shoegaze or post-metal, used more like an instrument, as I find them being more powerful that way. |

blues mostly, i used to be really into metal, my first concert was a rammstein concert and believe me it was one of the best moments of my life however in recent years i've fallen away from metal.
generally speaking i listen to a combination of prog rock and blues. if you want straight up blues you'll never beat delta blues or chicago blues, namely muddy waters, howlin wolf little walter and the like. great great musicians, honestly, no one can sing the blues like a black man. not being racist, not being sexist, simply stating a fact. if you want more rock orientated blues then i would suggest someone like joe bonamassa, hes got the soul of blues musician and mixes it perfectly with a more rock style of music. if you wish to try prog rock then i could suggest no one better than king crimson, songs like "se/x, sleep, eat, drink, dream" and "dig me" are geat but their true classics are "larks tongue in aspic"(good one if like some people above you dont like vocals), "great deceiver" and "21st century schizoid man" another good one to try is gentle giant, more of a classical style to the music but still with some very progressional approaches if you liked the artists mentioned but still want something more contempory and more rock/metal then i'd suggest the black keys if you liked the blues and the raconteurs if you liked the progressional. most of all though if theres one to try out its cake, by far my favourite band of all time, a nice mix of Prog but still with a bluesy feel to them, they have soul and some very interesting songs, a list i'd recommend off the top of my head would be -short skirt, long jacket -love you madly -commissioning a symphony in c -sick of you -wheels they also did amazing covers of "i will survive" and "war pigs" check them out. |

I became a DJ because I love music. I love all music that isn't Justin Bieber or Jedward.
For example earlier I was listening to some drum n bass, and now I'm listening to Clair de Lune... -Professor Clutch |

I like both metal and the non-metal genre's.
I like rock, psyrock, prog rock, trance, eletronica, funeral doom, dsbm, hip-hop, dubstep, metal, prog metal, metalcore, jazz, sludge, punk, etc.. etc.. Why limit yourself to 1 genre anyway? I never understood that. |
