well finally finished reading this tread so im gone first say im not elemental but im enhacement.I was elemental in wotlk and it was a good feeling then to be able to defeat arms wars,furry wars, retry palis,protection pallies,rogues all specs, and even dks with all their ghould army on 1v1 even after just 2 months of handling my char and the others where same gear some even a tiny bit better and had more time on theirs( well ofc i didnt won everytime but it was balanced).Seeing all this complains its clear that we have issues in 1v1 at the moment. Well either that or shammy got so more complicated that u cant learn to handle it so fast as other clasess but i dont think so cause shammy hasnt known such intensive redesigne like other clasess did in cata ( i have lock and feral druid and they got harvest,shadowburn(this gives other 5 at least option to user),felguard minion very viable against rogues and other clasess),soulswap makes affliction very usefull in 2v2 and above,kity can jump and use ravage after,gets fury swipes (similar to an enhacement talent dont u think);u noticed i just used abilities from talents or those gain before 80(ofc lvl 80+ abilities are new for all clasess))and ele gets 1 lowusage earthquacke that i havent yet seen used in bgs or arena except for my shammy( tried few days ele spec but with no pvp activity at all i have to admit, because of low gear).
After tryng lock and kitty for a while I got pissed cause i got killed by to many mages wich where weak in wotlk against lock and more or less against kitty.I made shammy cause i had too much fun with it in wotlk. I was very disapointed when i got to 85 and got in bgs as enhacement wich was op against any mage in wotlk but i didnt quit playing it.
WELL I DID ALL THE BORING TALK BEFORE TO COME TO THIS IDEA=we all shammy wielders love shammy because we love the idea of totems ,we love the idea that we give a lot of suport to other clasess(we are suport class), we love the idea that stands behind what shamy is as a class but actually some actually got to a point that are too frustrated that ourselfs are of no usage cause all other clasess got imunities to our defensive CC( or talents that reduce them and its a good laugh considering that we get 5 sec roots in each spec and with those reductions its like u dont even root at all your target) and if they didnt got imunities they got shorter CDS (kity charge glyphed is faster than your earthbind totem and he ofc jumps u from stealth so another cd blown for u) and also in the worst case for ele all melee got interrupts ( fake cast still enables the adversary to blow a hit on u on that faking even if u are succesful ).
Elemental is in the situation that he cant succesfull run away( with few exceptions like wars) .In 3v3 and 5v5 he is only viable cause healer dispells any root or slow from him and the armor gives a huge advantage but in 2v2 if your healer is cced u are sitting duck like in the title of the tread and even thou u go slower down comparativelly to a disc priest ( withou shielding or healing )cause of armor u go shorelly down.
If I would to make a chart after asking 10000 wow players about wich class has received less changes in cata i think shammy would come first place but i cant talk about fictive numbers so i ask u to actually think about it and say if its time for a BIG DAM CHANGE.

Deathwing brought the cataclysm to Elemental too .
now he is gone I hope thrall heal us and Convince the aspects to buff us .

oh no Blizz made us to be support class ( unique buffs to the group , some heals when needed , mid level CC or maybe low level )
WOTLK were a good times for elemantal
but when cata came major things happaend to uss
all classes got larger HP pools , heals nerfed , more CC luck interrupt combine this = better chance for melee lower chance for caster
and astral shift is taken away from us
and ......
ohh nvm

I rerolled elemental a couple of days ago from enhancement and I can already tell my survivability is a lot lower than it was when I was enhancement.

I haven't even got good gear but if you pop all your cooldowns you can pretty much burst people down in a couple of seconds. You can't expect blizz to give us good burst and sustained damage along with good survivability.

I'm loving Elemental at the moment but the one thing that annoyed me was earthquake. Completely useless unless you're defending a flag in a RBG. It would be nice if they increased the radius of it but also gave it a knockdown if you stand in it. Kind of like ring of frost so it's a safe zone where you can hard cast for a couple of seconds in. But when it has no PVE purpose so I'm not to sure :/

^ yes mate but ele cannot do hardly any damage when trained unlike most other classes. And in pvp getting trained is something that happens often ..

holy crap, came too see if there was some anti-melee advice but guess half of you guys are pathetic kids wanting to brag and failing miserably and the other half is yelling at the poor retards that think elemental is fine vs melee... just lol... let the kids be/ignore them and discuss options?

It really depends on what situation you put a element shaman in tbh, 1 on 1 is never gonna be balanced and neither is 2v2. They are usefull in rbgs and may also be good in 3s or 5s, you may have to rely on your teammates alot more as a elemental shaman but thats just how the spec works im afraid, we cant have all specs be viable and super awesome for pvp! doesnt work like that.

The problem is that elemental shaman's totally lack any kind of utility, they have one damaging spell and have as interesting a rotation as an arcane mage. maybe some more interesting totems or better defensive cooldowns would be nice, such as an AMS totem.
