[quote] No one expected Mogging to happen, cause it would turn the game upside down in many aspects. They played it and were there - so what's the difference? They played in a world they could only reach blues and greens in, wrath babies did the same, they never got thier hands on the real epic items in wotlk, mainly badge epics and nerfed raid epics, not much difference. Pardon me for missing your point then friend, however ''I played in vanilla so I should be rewarded now'' - so what? I played in vanilla, grinding R14 took me 3 months on my mage and was never about skill, just playing 16h a day and have a good grp with you. Thing is, classic was time consuming and we got our rewards back in classic - If you had T2 pre AQ then you were basically a god - ain't that reward enough?:) |
Yeah...because...having played a game 6 years and being good at it (or having been addicted by it ) is seriously something to be proud of in your life, you have achieved so much you just need to boast it to everyone, because that is so important, what you did in a game... Because playing a game for over 6 years and wanting to show off _in game_ what I managed to achieve _in game_ is bad. There's players that show off what they've achieved in game _outside the virtual world_. Transmogging is for in-game showoff. If you dislike it, perhaps you should have been there 6 years ago. |

It might be for you, but for many other people it is pure fantasy, the chance to wear what you like, what you think looks good, what fits. Not for "what I achieved in game". I started in 2006, as if 1 year is going to make a difference, it won't. stop whining about every single time you lose your snowflake status, since it is just a friggin game. |

The one thing I was semi excited about, having a decent looking character, now can not be fullfilled and I have nothing to transmog with, thanks for hiding this information away in some obscure post, appreciated.

Indeed, I'm not necessarily annoyed that they did this. I'm just annoyed because I don't have anything else to use. I loved the gear so didn't bother looking for something else. I is disappoint. I'll just go to AH and find gear that matches. |

Very similar to how I'm feeling. In my mind I'm set in my ways that this was an absolutely horrible decision...locking out a gear set that can still, to this day, be bought for honour, with no requirement? When no other old world gear is locked out in this way? It just makes no sense. Thing for me, really? PVP60 is the only way I know to stand as a Blood Knight, not some random Paladin. It's purely about vanity I know but, shocker(!), Transmogging is all about vanity... |

Bah, I'm disappointed. I was satisfied with the looks of the pvp gear. Now I've nothing to mog into :/

Oh, how silly of me not to play my old old retired Hunter anymore..
On the other hand, 5 people rampaging trough BWL to get T2 while I busted my bals way back when is A-OK. |

Tier 1, 2, 3 and 2,5 (AQ set) is Vanilla gear. And don't ask m why those are. Imho, only those that actually played vanilla (mostly everyone had a pvp title, at least scout/private) should be able to. Prestige ought to be given to those that earned it, not to wrath babies that believe that since they pay equally, they should be grandfathered the right to have something they never earned. Well guess what, presumed we have played continuously since vanilla, we've paid MORE than you. Do you have -any- idea how entitled you sound? The entire point with the system was to let people look the way they wanted to, not to be pointlessly restrictive about it. They're letting us use old raid sets without some title, or without having done them at the proper level, so why not the pvp gear as well? And no, pvp wasn't hard back then, it was just stupidly time demanding. Grinding BGs 18+ hours a day, and actually dodging games when you came up against another premade wasn't hard. It was just... stupid. And this is ignoring the stupid amounts of high ranked players who shared their accounts to get the titles. I've played since launch, I've got a title on my old hunter, but how does that help me when I want to use the gear the Blood Knights wear on my blood elf paladin? She never had a chance to get a pvp rank. I mean, I'll obviously just continue wearing the gear from the vendor, but it still irks me to not be able to transmog my gear into the models I actually -want- them to have. |

Old R12 shaman reporting in. Now I finally have a reason to gear this character out, hehe.

I really don't understand this decision. I'd be ok if they put this restriction on everything.
You'd have to have BT achiv TBC to be able to transmog T6, etc... But this really doesn't make any sense at all. Especially since in the only place where others can see and care/envy/whatever about what others are wearing, cities, people will still be able to use these sets. I always thought that the transmogging feature in the way it's implemented serves as option to customize the look of my character for myself, not for others. Of all the outdated gear I really don't think the vanilla PVP gear is the one that should be marked as 'special'. After all, all it took to get it was spending tremendous amount of time in battlegrounds. And right now, everyone is wearing it all the way thru Outlands. I wasn't going to use the old PVP sets for any of my chars, so this doesn't affect me. I'm going to be using T6 (I farmed in last 3 resets) on this toon, and since the T6 lookalike arena gear will be available, I'm going to be using that on my mage. Really hope you folks that wanted to use this gear will be able to get to use it eventually. |

To be completely honest I'm now really considering obtaining the set for all my characters and wearing it when I'm not in combat. Just to tick off all those 'hurr durr I had no life all the way back in Vanilla' guys

Thank you for coming in and posting this information, Lotharemas, it is much appreciated :)
As you can all see, it is our intention at this current point to only allow access to this gear for Transmogrification to those that received the privilege of wearing it in classic WoW. This may not be permanent though, as stated there is still a door there for us to be able to unlock and let other players access it as well at a later date. We hope that you are all enjoying the new Transmogrification feature though as its great to reminisce by using old gear :D |
