Theramore destruction in Patch 4.4.0

Good point. Having Theramore mimic Stalingrad would be pretty damn epic from the Alliance side of things. Let Garrosh drop his bombs, let him march army after army, fleet after fleet, airforce after airforce, and let the forces of Theramore defend their ruin of a city time, and time, and time again. Let the Horde forces finally get bogged down and thinned out, unable to break the last line of defense of an already wrecked city. Theramore would be gone, but it would still be a turning point of the war. And frankly? Metzens claim of "fist pumping" would actually fit, unlike what is planned for Orgrimmar. It wouldn't be a "wakeup point" for the Alliance, but frankly, as stated ever so many times... They've had half a dozen wakeup points already. From the burning forests of Ashenvale, to the blighted foothills of Hillsbrad, to the crumbling walls of Gilneas... Saying they still need to "wake up" is frankly an insult. |

I like the idea of Theramore holding out through multiple sieges, especially since the Horde is supposedly spread thin already. Surely the Horde cannot truly conquer Theramore and station enough forces in the region to persistently fight back the inevitable revenge seeking survivors?
It's definitely preferable to seeing such an iconic settlement destroyed and then forgotten about. Though I'm still wondering where exactly Jaina and her surviving people will go to, since it'd be pretty silly if they're just thrown at Stormwind for most of the expansion, much like Genn in Cataclysm. |

If Theramore falls... who dug all those graves? The Horde? I doubt it.

Horde needs no human graves, just a val'kyr. That's new fetish for Sylvanas, and works good enough for Garrosh, as long as they "serve the Horde".

I like the idea of Theramore holding out through multiple sieges, especially since the Horde is supposedly spread thin already. Surely the Horde cannot truly conquer Theramore and station enough forces in the region to persistently fight back the inevitable revenge seeking survivors? I can solve this problem in a split second, there are no survivors! Just think about it. Metzen and co wouldn't need to come up with any kind of story for them and there would never be a problem. So aside from Jaina, everyone dies. Saying this is Pearl Harbor or an "Wake up call" just isn't true, when everyone can see that this is in fact Dunkirk just without the enemy halting for 3 days to let them escape. |

Euh, no.. That would just be lazy writing. Also, I doubt Jaina would flee without taking many people/allies with her as possible. |

Is Jaina even present? The quests linked earlier makes no mention of her, and they also clearly state the explosion is caused by stupidly OP bombs, not by any magical shenanigans. In fact, she doesn't seem to have any sort of impact at all... It's lazy writing already. A single bigass bomb to take out the most heavily defended fortress on Azeroth. Considering how quick the assault seems to be, and that all the escape paths are shut down during the quests*, there being no/few survivors actually makes a modicum of sense. *...by five random adventurers killing the Alliance fleet and all the overgrown pigeons in the entire city, but hey, since when were we ever given reasonable quests? |
Euh, no.. That would just be lazy writing. The player could just fight, overpower and capture her. Then she gets dragged to Orgrimmar and tortured there. Giving her even more reason to hate the Orcs. Before she eventually mages to flee. Ehi, it's not even a 5 man dungeon. It's a scenario that might be done by fewer players, maybe even just one. |

Still there were just 4 or 5 horde soldiers needed to destroy Theramore? Hmm, Stormwind is a tad bigger so I estimate they may need abot 10 there. Same for Ironforge and Darnassus. Exodar maybe another 5. So Garrosh needs about 1 raidgroup to conquer the rest of Azeroth.
Should be doable before MoP. Hopefully some rabid alliance player will do some fistpumping on Metzens nose after that to give him a wake up call and make him see how completely ridiculous the scenarios he is spinning are. |
Stands to reason your first thought would be to surrender, you are a Blood Elf. After all, so far you're two for two on working for the same monsters you lost to. |
Hopefully Kul Tiras as its introduced to the game. Its Jaina's home after all. Her brother Tandred might not be happy to see her though if hes fully aware of the part she played in their fathers death. Kul Tiras also has a very strong navy and apparently there are many naval battles after Theramore and before Mists. |

Two things I would like to see.
1. Yeah, Kul Tiras introduced to the Alliance, their people (during the Cataclysm) transformed to this: http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg28/scaled.php?server=28&filename=davyjonescrewdmc.jpg&res=landing Would make a nice race for the Alliance. 2. Tower from the center of Theramore is obviously gone. I would like to see Jaina, when she sees that battle is being lost, lose her mind, and in an act of rage turn the entire tower into the effing V2 rocket, which is launched right into the orcish fleet, obliterating it in the process. |

I suppose Theramore no longer has a prophecy protecting it? After all, Jaina was assured that her people would be safe if she fled to Kalimdor. A shame that prophecy seems to now only benefit the orcs, conveniently.
|
safe from the Scourge. Not safe from everything. |
Garrosh managed to poop out a couple of naval fleets as well despite the resource shortage he is always blabbering about? When he wanks himself off he must come gold nuggets as well considering what all this stuff he is getting costs. |

Jaina is only master in teleportation and can tele many people at same time.
Theramore is only the Alliance bastion in Kalimdor and main central hub for Alliance there. Even if it is not PLAYER HUB, it is a Central Hub. They man fortresses around Theramore, recently since Cataclysm a lot of extra Alliance soldiers go through Theramore these days, pre-WoW Theramore went head to head against Orgrimmar at one point, they could do that. It is only logical that Theramore gets completely destroyed and wiped off. Having a large hub in South Kalimdor when horde has no Large Hub in South Eastern Kingdom is illogical and stupid. Hillsbrand Foothills, Southshore is old news also. Alliance doesn't need any other Harbors, look what they got at Stormwind, sure it may be a big empty harbor with no quests, vendor or anything... but it is the thought that matters. Soon Theramore will be like a big empty harbor with no quests or vendor and Alliance.I hate most of the lore created after 2006....... |

Karmine a few things.
1. Learn English, I'm only half English and not living in Britain and such not a native English speaker. (At least nor really) But yours is damn awful. 2. Your logic doesn't make any sense. Destroying yet another Alliance settlement, really? Even if we were following through with your logic most of the Horde bases such as Stonard and Grom'gol would need to go aswell. Because honestly, having Horde bases that dwarf their Alliance counter parts in the Eastern Kingdoms right next to Stormwind, really? 3. Hillsbrad Foothills, Southshore and the other places are anything but old news. Especially since nothing of what we promised would "make up for them" ever happened. It's still the same two factions, the very same war. And saying that Alliance doesn't need another harbor just because a completly different City also has one is beyond ridiculous. By that same logic we could destroy anything but Orgrimmar and Stormwind, because both Orgrimmar and Stormwind are cities, why have any other cities? |
