Pity - Theramore. Is one of my favorite desolate places to send people when making a portal roulette as a tradition when having done a new boss.

In retaliation for Garrosh's Ashenvale invasion. THE HORDE IS JUST MISUNDERSTOOD. THEY STEPPED ON A TWIG, IT'S JUSTIFIED! |

I must say, I thought Theramore would be the last settlement they would attack.. Yes, it is in the middle of Kalimdor surrounded by Horde terrotories but still.. Jaina isn't much of a Horde hater She did help the alliance to take over the barrens and to attack the horde. it's her fault garrosh did attack her. |

In what way? Garrosh made no move against the Dustwallow Marsh in Cata or even put pressure on it. Still they invade the Barrens. When Theramore would have been neutral in Cata there would not had been a Theramore assault coming up. (P.S Theramore assault might be the best move of Garrosh and i love him for it) |

Couldn't care less about Theramore being blown up. If it means sparking a sense of real war between the factions, I'd personally light the fuse to blow up any city on Azeroth - Alliance or Horde. You know.. introducing a little anarchy..
Why so serious? |
The problem is, this isn't a war, its an Alliance genocide where the Horde have seemingly endless resources, soldiers and weapons, and at seemingly no expense. In Cataclysm, the Horde build metal fortresses all over the place instantly, while many of the Alliance forts were still being built, and yet the Horde STILL have the resources to pull off an attack on the second largest city in the human kingdom. Im sorry, but this isn't sparking a real sense of war because all of Cataclysm has been one sided. There hasn't been ANY Alliance counter attacks, or moments at all. The horde made clear progression in EVERY front and the Alliance have been powerless to respond...or in the leader's case !@#$ing notice it To spark a sense of war, there needs to be two sides, and at the moment there's only one. I know it sucks to hear it, but if Metzen is serious about making his war, you hordies are gonna have to take some losses in Pandaria ... Oh by the way, the reason Theramore's an insult is because it's like kicking us while we're down, whereas we should be the ones pulling off an attack on a major town...that would spark a war |

if you want to put the blame on the night elfs you should read the story once more, during one of the first meetings between the orcs and the night elfs. the orcs murdered cenarius, they might have been tainted with demon blood, but they killed one of the most honored creatures or persons in the entire night elfs society. And instead of trying to make amends they start chooping down their forrest. taurens too should be offend since cenarius is the child of one of their gods |
Um no... the warsong clan was harvesting lumber, Night elf sentinels attack, WS clan retaliates, Nelves get Cenarius to help them, Cenarius pummels orcs, Orcs use only advantage they got, demon blood, and punt cenarius in turn.. The blame sorta rests on both sides for going all out fighting instead of trying to work it out imo, |

"The warsong clan was harvesting lumber". From their perspective. From the night elven perspective, they were dangerous demon tainted creatures who had invaded their land and were despoiling the trees that for ten thousand years had been left unspoilt.
And Ashenvale was Night Elven territory before the Orcs even existed. Let alone were in the general area. |
The orcs weren't even aware of the night elves till they got attacked.. the Tauren somehow forgot to tell the WSClan apparently.. |

And I suppose it is the normal behavior of a "peaceful shamanistic race" (this is how orcs usually declares themselves) when they are in a foreign country and got attacked by the owners of that land, to drink demon blood and destroy everything in their path. All I see here is that the poor, poor horde are the most peaceful races, and the bad, bad alliance started all wars. The Ashenvale war was started by the NE who didn't wanted to die and leave orcs to destroy the forest. Even the Theramore destruction was the fault of the biggest lover of the horde between Alliance leaders. And I suppose the aftermath of the destruction of Theramore is that the Horde will ALLOW the Alliance to get into (or below) Orgrimmar and kill or defeat Garrosh, and all be even. That will be the most retarded outcome of the expansion. |

Eh, I never implied they were peaceful.. I only mentioned (prev posts) that one thing led to another and things escalated to the point were it became demon-blood-orcs vs cenarius |

By attacking one of Theramores allies. That left Jaina and Theramore with the choice of abandoning an ALLY or fighting Garrosh and his Horde who had just launched a war of aggression as part of his plan to take over the entire continet, followed by the entire planet. Still they invade the Barrens. When Theramore would have been neutral in Cata there would not had been a Theramore assault coming up. (P.S Theramore assault might be the best move of Garrosh and i love him for it) It appears to be yet another poorly written and cosntyructed piece of tripe intended to fuil;fil the role of Pearl Harbor for the Alliance because Blizzard decided the attacks and atrocities on Southshore, Hillsbrad, Ashenvale, Feralas, Arathi, etc weren't enough to make the Alliance decide they were at war. The eventual outcome was predictable. There is NOTHING in this story that couldn't have been used in Cataclysm to give the Alliance some story and involvement. Um no... the warsong clan was harvesting lumber, Night elf sentinels attack, WS clan retaliates,Nelves get Cenarius to help them, Cenarius pummels orcs, Orcs use only advantage they got, demon blood, and punt cenarius in turn. The Warsong clan was a military fel tainted force harvesting lumber in Night Elf territory and building a huge encampment. As to which side attacked first - I still feel there is some doubt about that from a metagamer pov anyway. Leaving aside the gameplay aspect, you have a NElf commander with a small bodyguard unit approaching a known Horde location where said Horde was cutting down trees without bothering to hide and ortdering a hatsy attack only after the Horde scouts shout a warning. AFAICS, it can go either way. The commander COULD have been an emissary going to talk with the Orcs, whose sudden appearance caused the jittery nervous guards to shout a warning, causing the camp to pick up weapons causing the NElfs to respond in kind (a failed first contact situation) or it could have been the NElf commander deciding to ignore the falling trees coming towards her for some reason, allowing herself to be spotted by the Orcs and all occurring before the attack she had planned was ready to go. From their perspective. From the night elven perspective, they were dangerous demon tainted creatures who had invaded their land and were despoiling the trees that for ten thousand years had been left unspoilt. Because..that's relevant to the Night Elven perspective how? Talen:- "From a metagame perspective":- There isn't one. Orcs:- Needed Lumber, got shot at. Night Elves:- Demon creatures invaded their territory. Both have valid reasons for the violence. But it was the orcs who were the 'active' participant, so while they aren't being violent warmongers, they DID invade. Worse, their response to being attacked was not try and sort the problem out, but counter and kill everyone they could. (Although I raised the theory that the orc instinct is to attack in all situations, like the human instinct is to defend). |
