Someone explain why i have lag?
|

Hi everyone, i recently bought a new computer, here are the specs:
Intel Core I7 2600 Hyper TX3 cpu cooler 16GB Vengeance memory GTX 560 Asus videocard Asus motherboard I have an ADSL internet connection I have put all setting on ultra, and i am on a constant 60 fps, both in the world and in raids, but... When i turn my camera around in the world i get a HUGE loss in fps and my screen freezes for a second untill it actually turns, this also happens on some boss fights in DS, specially if it is a large room. Now i know my computer rocks so im really at a loss here on how to fix it, any suggestions? |

Best way to find out is a process of elimination. If it only occurs in 25 man raids, that narrows things down a little but makes it more difficult to test since you can't control that variable.
I found a thread that says that playing in full screen mode rather than windowed fullscreen reduces dropped frames (but logs one out after tabbing out, so it's a tradeoff). Another thing to check would be disabling all addons and if that fixes things, re-enabling them one at a time to check whether some of them conflict. Also, whether it happens in other games (offline and not) and with minimal graphics settings would be interesting to note too, because you can isolate the specific cause. and whether your drivers are up to date lol. |

Shadows still cause issues when set too high in graphics settings.

Tnx for the tips, tried em all, here are results:
Turning off V-synch doesnt help, all drivers are up to date Turning down graphics to the lowest does reduce the lag, but it is still there ( dont think its needed to lower all settings with my computer) Turning off multisampling doesnt do anything. Shadow quality is already as low as it can get, someone told me that still cause lag, it does not solve the problem. Tried both the windowd modes, doesnt solve the problem. Deleted all addons, doesnt solve the problem. This problem does NOT occur in any other games. Just to explain the problem a bit more in detail: I run on 60fps, in the world and in raids, but the screen freezes for a second or 2 when i turn my camera in the world, in 10man raids and 25man raids. After the 2 seconds things go back to normal, untill i turn the camera again. The problem does not occur when i turn my camera inside a room. it only happens if the horrizon is far away (setting view distance lower does help a bit, but even on lowest setting im still seeing the lag). More idea's needed! |

Siafu I am very interested to know how you solved this problem! I have the same issue on my new computer!
Runs 60 fps on ultra - when I turn the camera, massive fps drop / freeze - perfectly fine in straight line. If you can tell me how you fixed yours it would be great :) Thanks! |
