The game is now being flooded with duped epic gems, seen a few lvl 1 chars selling stacks of Queens Garnets, offering to sell me 100 gems. for 225,000g, an easier way for the gold sellers to aquire gold
Will only be a matter of time for them to kill the epic gem market the same way as they did with gathered materials, ie cheap ore and herbs, mining bots and herbing bots have been back for a while since the patch.
People like the cheap prices, and the fact that blizzard does as little as possible to deal with them, the duped gems are just another way of the gold sellers spitting in Blizzards face.

And you have clear evidence that these gems are duped and is having a possible chance of disappearing, should you buy them?

My imagination, is that they have hacked an account with high acces to guild banks and robbed them for everything, or even players doing market with these gems as that is also possible. These greedy bastards do everything to get them, but I doubt they are using a program to copy them and I wonder how it would be possible to do.

Saw the same thing on my server 2-3 weeks ago. Bought 20 for 26k off the lvl1, then wrote a ticket to Blizz.

They said the will investigate, but I should be free to use the gems.

I am also convinced that they have a way to create epic gems out of thin air. We had the same thing with Living Embers in 4.2

I had a level 1 whispering me, and asked me if I wanted to buy 400 epic gems.

I wrote back that I didnt want any duplicated items.

The items are dupped but you can buy them and resell if you want, they won't disappear.

I made a similar post about Essence of destruction like 2 weeks after the game was launched and lvl 1 characters were selling stacks of 100 pieces. There is no way in hell to get 100 of those in just 2 weeks, was the same with Queen's Garnet.

First replies was about hacking accounts with access to guild bank but it`s simply not possible to acquire so many of these in such a short amount of time.

I made a ticket to a GM myself and (s)he wanted to comfort me saying "not all items on the market are duped" and "it`s not easy to dupe items". Well i didn't say ALL are duped and i it`s easy, i'm saying it`s POSSIBLE.

Of course not all epic gems are dupes.
The person offering to sell stacks of epic gems, was spamming trade channel, and offered to sell me as many as I wanted.
I dont want any as I know they are duped, said before I dont like cheating, some people may not see a problem with buying and using duped gems, they would be cheating too, no matter how they may try and justify it.
I wont use the gems, as I wont cheat.
I have tried making tickets but the last time, it was a 4 day 13 hour wait to get the same copy/paste answer from a GM who dosent really care. waste of time reporting them.

Blizzard need to add gem production to the game via alchemy, then will just leave them to dupe sands of time, and what ever essence is used to craft at the time

It was the same in Diablo 2, duped stone of jordens, im sure there will be many duped items when Diablo 3 is live

no do not introduce a buff to alcamy and even more nerf to JC thank you very much, had a bad enough time back on Cata with stupidly overpriced Mats for main gems. let us create our own mats and stop us being ripped off by alcamists and you will see gem prices come down

Now this is the first time when i see talking about duped items in WoW :)) is this possible ? You know they have lots of accounts and so on maybe they are raiding like hell :))

You buy gems to cut and resell ? ofc buying gems will cost you more

I have an alt who is a jc and is not a miner, but I mine my own mats when I can, I refuse to buy the mats from the gathering bots.

Let use alchemists craft epic gems, take a little away from the cheats / dupers, Blizzard really need to get their thumbs out of their lower back areas, ahh sol
I also have 2 dks I leveled only to be alchemists, 1 is a bank alt, other is storage, both are transmute alchemsits, its easy as a DK you start at lvl 55, Blizzard have nerfed to game too much due to peoples QQ making it too easy to lvl.

This warrior has been lvl 19 for 5 years, and wont do any bgs anymore to due to an influx of bots, bots that blizzard seem unwilling to do much about

Same here, lvl1 selling in trade bunch of em on Outland, just now in trade 50 for 80k...
Would be nice if Blizz could clear it out?

GM told me: "You have given me enough information to investigate what happened and I will take the appropriate action against the reported accounts."
so it means, BLZ are not able to fix the bug or stop the duping, and the hackers can buy a new account and restart their business.

Confirming the Dupe. It has spread to Skullcrusher as well and Durotan and Kazzak and Frostwolf so far, I'm kind of a regular player riding the AH and I know the markets pretty well... this must be a dupe of some sort and no account robbery.

None of this so far on QT, but its intriguing how they've managed to possibly do this for weeks now.

I've been told this is dues to a database exploit where one can insert a queen's garnet during a forced stack overflow....

confirmed. I bought 100 for 200k and he still sells them so he have more ... i dont see how he can have it in other way only dup. them

On Trollbane Europe the sale started today...
I asked how many Essence and Queen's the lvl 1 toon had, 200. First sold them for 4k in the morning and later that day for 3k and 2k.
I already bought gems before i started wondering who the hell he got so many.
I'm probably gonna lose a lot of hard-working-honest-earned gold by doing that.

Still i'm wondering if it's not Blizz behind this...
On my low populated server there are hardly any QG gems for sale if there are any they sell for 5k. There are not enough raids (drops)
Let's face it. Topguilds got banned by (ab)using a small exploit but Blizz can't see or do something about this???

I find it hard to believe a simple gold seller would have the knowledge to dupe an item on a live Blizzard server. Either they are getting very very clever or there's a serious breach in Blizzards security.

Well think about all the stuff gold sellers have been up to...

From the simplistic stuff like underground mining to make adverts with dead bodies on the floor and even adverts floating in the sky.

You wonder how much control Blizzard have over their own game.

I spent this evening watching myself being undercut by a guy I only yesterday watching mine botting and reported. No doubt using what you could describe as a commercial botting programme that anyone can buy, that even comes with customer support and that Blizzard seem completely incapable of stopping.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if gold sellers can dupe items and god knows what else.

They are duped and they do disappear as i found out this morning.

Yesterday I saw someone sellings these on my server (Sylvanas) and as my main has JC I thought this would be great way to make some cash for the guild bank.. so I bought 160 of these.. I even said to my officer how the hell can he have so many .. unless they are robbing accounts or the guild has raided a lot as this was a level 54 character which he said he had an 85 main on the server.. so i thought .. why not .. and bought them

This morning (being wednesday) I thought I would put them on the AH.. well 120 have gone.. disappeared .. (and they where cut as i sent ages yesterday cutting them up, ready to sell).

Its strange cause not all have gone .. all the ones I left in gb are there and the ones I was going to cut and I left on my char have gone.

So dont buy these.. I am hoping a GM will do something ...
