Hi!
Simple questions. Can you run RP events? Not done it before, but you'd like to try? But you don't have any ideas? Or maybe you do, but you haven't had the kick up the rear end you'd like to get it sorted? Tell us who you are, what faction you play on, and what sort of events you('d) like to run. What style - adventure, social, something else? Do you prefer the themes of certain races over others? What sized group do you prefer working with? I had this idea that we could match-make people who can run but don't have any ideas, with the ideas in this thread http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2226265317 - and then put those people together with people who can run events and have ideas of their own, and work out a big schedule over the next few months or so where we run 1 or 2 events a week. It would potentially be a different person each time, although obviously there's nothing stopping you from running more than one event. I wouldn't be vetting for quality - because I think it's important to give less experienced people a chance to learn - so you might have to have some patience when attending. But it'd be swell to get some regular, yet varied, organised RP going on on the small realm - regular RP that doesn't rely on one person for any more than a schedule. But for now, I'd just like to hear if you're willing to run an event for this, and if so if you've got your own ideas or if you'd like help picking out one from the Idea Mill thread. If you've got ideas for an event, but you feel you can't run it for a given reason? I can.
[EDIT]: S'pose I should be a tad more detailed. I am Rubarb, Horde, I am a wandering warrior of some esteem among my people, any events I'd be involved would mainly be adventure and war-time events. I've little experience leading events, I recall definitely leading one event, on another character long long ago and that went well, 10 people would be as many as I could deal with, methinks, 5 - 10. I had the vague idea a while ago of a pseudo-call to arms system for RP'ers, they'd be rather spaced out but every few weeks or so there'd be a battle going on somewhere with its own story, nothing on a grand scale like the Blasted War or Thunder Axe War, much smaller, more like something that'd be contributing to ongoing war efforts of the Horde. I dunno, if it sounds like a dumb idea feel free to whack me with a rolled up newspaper and I'll crawl back to my little corner. |

Sounds allright, just like my RPed Dungeon Runs.

I've got a brilliant idea!
And if I work it out a bit more, I might even try and make it a big event. It'll be smashing, trust me. But, anyway. I'm Segolia, I play an easy-going Elf, who happens to be in a clan. Big wolf, a bow and a case of semi-sharp with and sense of adventure is what keeps her running, really. I think Seg's most suited to running adventure style events, thought she wouldn't say know to one big all out drinking night. Don't mind one race or another, and so far I've only lead small guild things, but I'd be willing to try bigger things if people won't judge me on being a little sloppy in bigger groups. So yes. Ta-daaaaah! |

For me the answer is a bit of a mixture between yes and no :-P
Mostly due to lack of any coherent mind, sanity and braaiinnss, I couldn't run a carefully organized and planned event if my life depended on it - plus I would find it hard to devote time to, with a fairly busy IRL always there plus leading a guild as well, my mind would explode! Though on the other hand, the thing I'm good at (at least compared to the previous option!) is pretending something is organized and planned very well, and then making everything up on the spot - and generally people buy it and think the stuff I came up with 30 secs ago was a master plan, muahaha :-P Soooo I certainly can 'lead' events to a certain extent, IC-wise that is - I've done so for years - but I'm not much of an advance-planner. I can come up with thousands of good and less-than-good ideas though, I could mention some in that thread when I find time tomorrow :-) |

My, my. I have a lot in common with Gaebriel. I should start wearing flowers in my hair.
Moving along. I'm Haru. I'm a human/half-elf paladin from the Alliance side of the fence; a very well known one, that's more like a parody of a paladin than an actual warrior of the light because of his mass, unfounded fame. It's because of this that I'll be able to gather people for events and the like, though. I've organised some events before, with or without the usual enthusiasm. Once or twice a week, I send out letters, pledging for people to come to an underground fighting club in the abandoned barracks. It's rather successful each time and a joy to run but it only ever lasts for a few hours each time and people get bored of non-stop emote fighting, right? When it comes to organising an event or putting together a faction, I consider myself capable of figuring out who'd have more chemisty together in a team or how they could be put to use for optimal roleplaying scenarios. I don't have a preference; if there's a reason for my character to get involved with something, he'll probably do it for the experience without giving much thought to the consequences. Adventure-based/Social/PvE/PvP/Exploration/Expeditions, and the like. I'd be interested in giving them all a try. |

I've got a brilliant idea! If it's the Plaguelands thing, I wanna help. Wanna wanna wanna help! *Tantrum* |

Maybe, Sometimes I can.
Over the years of WoW, and due to years of making DnD Campaigns. I like to thing I know how to make a RP Campaign, Over the years I've made a large RP Boss Monster Compendium, with a good couple of thousand RP Bosses, So, If you need a horde of enemies for your heroes to break through, I can do a decent enough job. |

Events! Want to lead! If I can? That's another question.
Anyway: I am Ela'Thari, a Scryer and recently joined with the Horde. Any events I would (want to) lead would be Scouting/Adventuring/"Covert Ops" and the like. Haven't got many ideas, but I'd love to have Events in and around Storm Peaks, Grizzly Hills, Netherstorm and other Outland/Northrend areas. (Common treat is: Wild, Hunterlike, and with a unique scenery :3) Since I would want to go Scouting/"Covert Ops" I'd love to team up with similar characters, being Rogues, Hunters, maybe Druids, or other characters that enjoy light armor and sneaky(ish) events :) |

Honestly? Probably not. Am I going to try? Aye... What have I got myself into...?

I've thrown together a few events in my time.
I'm Vashnu self-proclaimed Ogilearch (What?) of the Alliance. I try to throw events together based on more military than social ideas. Marches, campaigns that sort of thing. I also like to throw Alternate/retro role play, in which we role play in alternate realities, clearing raids or killing bosses from previous expansions, so that we can role play in the raid. Nothing better than getting that feeling of fighting the big bad baddy and being able to talk about it as your character, rather than saying "I hear some champions killed the Lich King. Me? Oh no I was like... in another wing or... buying them time and junk.". I try to avoid the Dungeons and Dragons style of role play if I can, where we imagine an enemy is there. I've nothing against it, I infact do use it sometimes, it's just a little more difficult for some players to grasp what's going on or get excited about it. It can be awkward when I say "Terry appears and stabs John an ((No, <Player name> he's over there. Yes a two handed sword... look I don't know how he can block all your attacks at once he just can.))". But if can work out well. I also try to make more Alliance Vs Horde type things, as I feel our server has a lack of it. Sure we have indivdual guilds who'll have a pop at Kargath or some other remote outpost. But I often think that, for two factions at war, our players are rarely off fighting each other. And I know many characters see the war as silly or don't wish to be a part of it or are part of a neutral faction etc, but for players like myself who are looking for that little bit of interaction from the opposing faction it's a let down! Anyway, hello. |

I could help in thinking up minor events for a specific theme:
Extremely traditional holier-than-thou hard-as-nails night elven ones! Raiding horde encampments in Kalimdor with kaldorei hit and run tactics and liberal use of shadowmeld and generally fighting in an unfair way - or so the lesser races would say. Nailing the mangled corpses of our defeated enemies to the trees, a warning to all who oppose the will of the Goddess. I won't lead IC though, only a Priestess of the Moon should do that. Blessed voice of Elune, command me! |

I could help in thinking up minor events for a specific theme: I like this idea, it's a pity I can't think of an IC reason to travel to Kalimdor. |

Actually, it might be worth making an alt for that sort of thing.
