[RP organising] Can you run RP events?
|
|
I will be available, from February onwards. The exam session will start soon at the uni and when I'm not playing WoW, I'm revising. But once the winter break starts...

Tell us who you are, what faction you play on, and what sort of events you('d) like to run. What style - adventure, social, something else? Do you prefer the themes of certain races over others? What sized group do you prefer working with?
I'd be up for running one sometime. I'm Anthraxius, High Executor of the Spine, fighting for the Horde. I usually throw military type events and the odd few investigation/exploration events. I normally only lead small guild events (around 10-20 people) but I've experience in helping hold together larger events. I'd definatley be interested in branching out into other styles of RP events as well. |

Except that you aren't me, silly Thoro. |
The Voice of the Goddess always commands to serve Her people. Do by Her will, and you will do justice upon yourself, your sister and brothers, and your enemies. To each as they rightfully deserve. By the light of the Moon, pin the fel-skin orcs, and any who count themselves as their allies, to the trees, with arrows as numerous as Stars in the sky! Paint the ancient bark black with their blood, and let Aviana's children feast on their eyes, but only after they have watched us undo everything they have ever built or bred. And by the light of the Moon, Elune shall bless her children and bathe us in the lights of the night sky, and our people will triumph in all of our endeavours! That is the Goddess' will! |

I too am more than interested in both leading and coming up with ideas of events.
A long time event organiser and guild-coleader, I have experience in both hosting and helping with events, large and small-scale. I have run a few Sever-wide events too, in the past (Isiliosis, Treats of the Winter's Veil) and I host frequent events in the Spine, grandiose and not. My style varies a lot on the context and background, though I tend to host events directly and indirectely involved in scientific or territorial matters, i.e., expiditions, mysteries and unconverings. Additionally, in my events, I either use a d6 or d30 /roll for everything involving characters, which will be generally everything, as I tend to let players decide the result of the event, be it a total failure or a glorious success. In character, I am Nathan Marwonaeth Black, Royal Professor and Instructor of the Spine, one of the three heads of the Spine, and I am more than happy to collaborate with anyone with ideas or a thing for hosting. Take contact with me in game, and I'll be ready to help out as necessary, be it advice, tips or assisting with leading something, and I am not confided to my character's esoteric views - I have several (or too many, some would say) characters. Thanks for putting up this idea, I think it is wonderful, and hope that it will surface as something excellent and functional! |

I could help in thinking up minor events for a specific theme: I'd just like to point out I've made a Kal'Dorei Huntress, specifically for when this gets off the ground. |

I am Dr Quinty Crankenspinna, commonly refered to as Quinty or Doc.
Horde doctor and proud owner of the H.O.R.D.E ( Health-center of Operation Research, Drugs and Elixirs) I can handle groups of 10 maybe 15, but i struggle to keep up with emotes, so folks need to have a little patience :) I am looking to host murder mystery events and events surrounding illnesses and plagues that require immediate attention. I also really enjoy all types of medical RP, so for huge campaigns away etc i dont mind being put in charge of organising the infirmary if no one else wants to do it. |

I expect there to be many casualties during the Siege of Stratholme. |
|
I've not run an event for a looong time. I don't think I have any kind of fruitful storylines I could share or organise. I lot of my ideas got scribbled into fiction some time ago, right now I don't have much to work with but i'm always looking to see if there's anything I can mingle into.

I don't have any experience in leading events (( read: I don't have any experience in leading events well ))
But I generate idea's and story's quite happily, which occasionally leads to nice on the fly adaptations, so if all else fouls. I wouldn't mind trying my luck at some small scale adventure/intrigue stuff for say 5-10 people. |

I sent out a mail-merge to Horde about this today, so check your in-game mail!
I'd rather someone whose main was Alliance coordinate the Alliance side of this, so if you're willing to head it up then let me know here or through in-game mail. |
|
|
Usually I'd say "Work with the Horde? NEVA!" Neva being my parrot who I like to address when making choices.
I however, am free to aid you! Of course if someone else wants to do so, feel free to attack them first. Attack them, with love. |

If you could take care of it, that'd be awesome!
I basically sent a mail out asking people what days/times they were free, so I could plan a time for an in-game meeting. At the meeting I intended to ask questions like how often we should schedule the events, who wants to go first, what day/s of the week we should hold them on. The aim is we can say to the realm forums "There will be an event run by somebody every X week/s, on Somethingdays, at Y time" - and you'd all take it in turns to run an event each before going back to the start. Ofc you can modify the format to suit Alliance, not like I'll track you down if you do x) |

Alright, I am going away this week & will be back Monday 30th. When I get back I will choose a date & time I think as many people can make as possible, and hopefully invite you all to a calendar event thus so we can have an OOC chat about how to turn chatter into RP events.
So if you haven't replied to my in-game mail yet and you're still interested, or you're someone who's yet to post here who plays Horde and thinks it sounds interesting, please make sure you tell me what days/times you're free - by Sunday 29th at the latest! Thank you <3 |

I have some experience running small events use to do it for my guild back when I had the time and a guild.
They were usually quick, militaristic lasting about an hour or so with groups up 5 -20 people, we did scouting/escort/resource gathering/construction/kill type things. Nothing to grand but there were ment to be day to day tasks. I do not have as much time in the evenings as I use to but I am pretty flexible and could make arrangements to attend events and even if I dont have time to do full event I could always help out someone else if I am needed. |

I sent everyone (Horde-side) a letter and a calendar invite today! The in-game discussion is on Saturday 25th February at 20:00. Location doesn't matter so much but if you'd like somewhere for us all to sit together while we natter OOCly in /raid, then we can use one of the plateaus west of Thunder Bluff.

Just keeping this in the public consciousness .
Also, do we have anyone willing to step up and organise something with the Alliance group? I really can't feel confident trying to do it myself! If all else fails I might in-game mail interested Alliance people from my gnome, Kall, to ask if any of you feel happy spearheading the Alliance effort. |

You've got no idea how much I admire the input you make to create a better community.
Have a bump for your thread. |

Thank you Tazkram!
I sent out letters today to the 4 Alliance players who are still available, asking if any of you would be comfortable spearheading the Alliance side of this. It'd also probably help you guys if you drummed up interest in-game for this, since the impression I get is that much less of Alliance RP organisation starts on the forums vs Horde? Whatever the case, I really hope one of you can sort this! |
