So I Log in after a short break from WoW

I see an advert in trade for Black Temple and I wanted the achievement so I joined

Party Composition: Ret Pally (me), Mage, Shaman & Fury Warrior lvl 84 (the leader)

I asked for no loot, nothing, I tanked the whole thing, carried them, saved them from wipes (lol) asking for nothing in return

So we down illidan - the shaman has come for the shield, I just wanted ach, so I was about to leave, then I see pally tier which noone can use and it looks good to transmog for my healing set

the warrior takes the shield from the healing shaman who carried him also
then the tier he cant even use from me, and then has the audacity to ask me to buy it back from him, after everything

some people deserve nothing

Yes, it's like this. You're right, but they don't give a damn anyway.

Well said. Its like some people expect you to do Dragon Soul with them but the moment you want them to do something for you.. its like.. give 500g and I'll do it...

Ye, those people are not rare anymore. You can allways report him, cause he's from the same server. Also, you should tell his guild and tell in trade about this.
Sorry to hear that. I usually do a 'funraid' at fridaynight, just doing old instances with friends, or friends of friends. I never take pugs with me, I dont want to risk them needing on stuff, just so they can sell it. If I see them needing on something they don't need I give out one warning and if they do it again, I kick them. If someone disagrees, I kick them too. I call it 'funraid', cause I cba with greedy and rude people. Also, old content is fun :)

BT runs have been like this for a long time now I don't see what the problem is. Next time try to get some twinks in they pay a fortune for tier items.

The problem is the greedy attitude of terribads that has invaded our space, occupied a proper game and making a ruin out of it. That's the problem.

Add him to ignore, and you'll not be tempted to run with him again, and you'll not get randoms with him either.

It's the sad reality of the dog-eat-dog mentality that has begun to take over both the real world and the game itself. A lot of players do not care in the slightest about anyone else they come across, which is a real shame. It's frustrating, but there's thankfully a few gems if you dig deeply enough within the filth.

It seems pretty obvious, from the reactions here and from my personal in-game experience, that the number of people who act in the manner described by the OP are in a minority. Most of us want to log on, enjoy ourselves and leave feeling positive, which normally involves being friendly to the people we meet.

Sadly, from time to time we come across others who, for whatever reason, don't feel like being polite. As suggested, the best thing to do in these situations is to put those people on ignore, and move on. Beginning a campaign against them may only end with you looking bad as well.

Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Luckily, I have not met many players like this, only a few times in the lfg or lfr-tool.

Some of us are nice, but as has been said, add them to your ignore list and move on.

I find it sad that this morning, when i went in LFR, and said "morning", people comment on it, as it's not something you see (though i see it, but that's because i do it... so i see myself do it..).

Don't lose faith in people, the meanies are the minority, personally, i love most of the people here, it makes the game imo :)

Seriously can't wait for account wide ignore though, and if i imagined that feature, it should be implemented

Something I realised recently, after helping a new player get into the game, is that some people just aren't aware of all the unspoken courtesies when it comes to looting.

It may seem crazy to those of us who've been playing for years, but to someone on their first character, needing an item because it has an agility upgrade (despite also having intellect which isn't needed at all to them) might seem like the most harmless thing in the world.

I'm not saying this is the case all the time, just something to possibly bear in mind.

Must admit i see this going on in pretty much every dungeon i enter, along with a few friends of mine, not only do you have to hope your loot drops, but then also hope someone else does'nt need for it when they have absolutely no need to have it. Most grab them for the extra cash or get a friend to disenchant it for them, it's not down to mistakes just pure greed. A simple addition to the game to prevent people from needing on gear they already own or their spec does not require, then they would have to ask politely to buy it if they actually did need the item.

Maybe something as extreme as what the OP describes is in the minority, but certainly general courtesy and tolerance isn't.

I barely ever want to step into LFG because I know that the majority of the time it isn't going to be what it should be. Finishing a dungeon with the 5 people that you start with I find is rare. It's full of people who are just there for themselves, and woe betide anyone who gets in their way, whether it be someone legitimately rolling on loot they need or someone who hasn't done the dungeon so much they could do it blindfolded. Group mentality, outside of guilds, is pretty dead these days, from my experience anyway.

I see more and more of this :(

My suggestion to you players is:

Make sure loot rules are clear and posted in raid/partychat by the leader before you go. If you don't agree, say it then and leave if its not changed to your liking.

If the loot rules arent followed, post a ticket and the GMs will solve it.
