Hello all,
I would like to start something up that used to be quite a success on our previous server: a travelling market. Why travelling? It means that we can switch locations every time we do the market and see different places and cities in Azeroth. This could be Thunderbluff, Undercity, Ratchet, Bilgewater, ... all suggestions are welcome. We just need places that would be suitable to portray booths and stands. What can you find on a market: anything and everything depending on the participants. This could be a lottery, food and beverage stands, a fortune teller, a pet shop, a tailor (well, definetely that since that is what Zhinlan does), a storyteller, people sellingwhat they can make with professions, games and races, and so on and so on. GHI items are welcome, but I like to ask those with a booth not to come with only GHI merchandise. It would mean new rp-ers or those that don't use the addon can't buy anything at your shop. Organisation and planning will be happily done by us, but as we are quite small since the move, we will need other enthousiasts for more booths and stalls. Depending on interest and participants this market could be done once every 2 months for example. If you have something you would like to do/sell at the market please let me know here or poke me online. Date-wise I would like to do a market in February (if we find people), when exactly can be decided with those participating. If you don't have a character that would be interested in opening a booth don't despair, we will also need customers! And I assume everyone has at least one character that would want to visit a market. :-) greetings, Zhinlan Saturday 16th edition, Shattrah Confirmed booths: Zhinlan, Skull marks the Treasure - dresses and shirts Gosa, hand of the Titans - potion brewing Wirha, the Silvertail tribe - homemade foods and drinks Tailey Razzlewix, the Undermine Initiative - various bits and pieces to be confirmed: Hutrara, Eden Beyond weapons merchant Thistlehead, Crimson Legion weapons merchant Volheim, Hand of the Titans engineering services Mistery boxes lottery: Skull marks the Treasure possible booths, suggestions made from the start of this topic: Jewelcrafting stall: Crimson Legion Herbs, salves and potions: Wirha - Silvertail tribe Advice: Wirha - Silvertail tribe Fortunetelling and curiosa: Iletha Union Accord stall: Ajaxxor - Crimson Legion Curiosa and things: Tailey, quartermaster for The Undermine Initiative |

Would definately like to see this happen! Great idea.
I could alternate between offering your market a jewelcrafter, namely Enuka, selling Shu'halo styled jewellery and charms, or Wirha here could sell herbs, potions and salves accompanied with the appropriate explanation - or even hold an "advice stand" where people come with their problem, question, or just for fun, and the Elder Crone shares some words of wisdom. Depends what'd be preferred or what is already present at each time :-) |

We have to have a Legion representative selling gems or whatnot, and maybe a Union Accord person to talk to people. I definitely plan on visiting. I'll poke Ajax if he doesn't see this before I have time to log on.

I wonder if I can fish up some curio's for the little hunter to try and trade with people.
Really Happy to see the bit of DMF I liked the best has followed over to Moonglade. Just let me know the date and I'll pop a reminder out for folks who I know have a few little Hordies hiding and would love to experience your event for the first time Zhin. |

ok, updated with possible booths that were suggested here. Obviously we best avoid double stalls, so no 2 JC for example, but that is easily agreed on before the event. For food or drinks, more booths are possible since everyone could focus on their speciality. (and on christmas markets for example you see the same drink stalls everywhere :P)
Looks like this should certainly be possible to do! I'll wait to see if any other folks are interested, and then we can pick a date for it! |

This sounds like an awesome idea. I'd be quite willing to offer my support. Gosa is good with brewing potions. I could open up a booth for that. Seems Wirha has the same plan, so I'll see if she'd be up for possibly combining forces for this. It could be fun having a booth together with her, or possibly anyone else that would be up for it.
Hehe, I think I'll also inform Kimble. Maybe he'd like to sell cookies or tell stories or something else nice. This event sounds like it could bring a lot of fun. It could be highly amusing to sell all sorts of curiosities, especially if they are real vendor loots and miscellaneous items such as black dragonscales, crystals, spyglasses and interesting things like that. Unfortunately I don't have a trader character suitable for such. Regardless, this sounds like an event to look forward to :D! |

(Posting this with an Alliance character since the character I would like to join this with does not appear in the list D:)
I would love to join this with Iletha! Though it may be a bit similar with the advice booth, she could do some fortune telling, tea leaf reading, things like that. Iletha also has a few curiousities she might be willing to sell. Please let me know what you think! |

I quite like this idea, and I think I'd like to join with Tailey here. She's the quartermaster for The Undermine Initiative and could try to sell off all kinds of stuff we have laying around ICly.

all amazing ideas, I'll update the first post tomorrow. Would a Sunday evening in February be good for those wanting to open a booth?
|
|
Sunday and Monday are our current raid days I'm afraid. We do have RPers outside the raid team though, so I'm sure there would be -some- Legion there on a Sunday =)

After having been forced to miss out on several lovely events last year, I've shifted some stuff around to get a more flexible schedule - meaning that in general, any evening's fine for me. The only exception I can see at the moment is Friday the 17th.
Edit: To avoid confusion, Tailey's an alt of mine. |

well this is a lovely idea well i could come and sell some service wit engineering

GHI stands for Gryphonheart Items, an add-on for World of Warcraft that allows you to create virtual items in virtual bags, which you can also trade between characters. It can add a lot of flavour to roleplaying. But while it's good fun to use and play around with, it also has a reputation of conflicting with other add-ons and even the default interface. I haven't used it in years myself mainly for this very reason, it may have improved since (though I've quite recently heard some people say they still enable/disable it as needed). |

''The sinews of war are infinite money''
The Crimson Legion's Council puts strong emphasis on facilitating the flow of commerce in Horde lands, much of our IC revenue is generated from trade. The prospect of shaking our moneymakers amidst chests of shinies is awesome, but due to PvE scheduling im not sure how many of our trader types are free on sunday/monday. Regardless, this is a very smart and savvy idea for realm RP, that could easily become a very popular feature for our community!
We have one too Leyds! I think some of your company have met Gibbel Darkwater! At the very least we would love to attend the markets in a defensive role. A travelling market is a juicy prize for all manner of thieves and bandits, we would be offering security to the salesfolk from incursion by these raider types. If this seems a fun way to augment or ramp up the atmosphere at the markets, feel free to let me know ahead of time so i can get our guys organised! Come see me in game if this appeals to you Zhin. Will the Skulls be taking a trade duty percentage from all stallholders as a fee for setting up the market? Surely at least five percent xD 'The Old Spanner' - as Volheim's repair shop, would be a highlight for this Tauren. |
|
|
Skulls has never asked for a percentage to be honest, that happens when a troll is in charge and not a greedy goblin :P
Guards for the market would be awesome! Since Sundays are difficult for some folks, how does Friday or Saturday evening sound? |
|
|
Those days sound awesome, dont change it just for us tho matey :)
|
|
|
Sounds very much doable here, too :-)
But then, most evenings around weekends are. Not calculating the odd unforeseeable exception we all deal with sometimes. |
