Heart of the Unliving

Why do Resto Shaman have the hardest job stacking this trinket?
RT ticks - doesn't proc it. HR - doesn't proc it. Unleash Elements [Earthliving] - doesn't proc it (BUT IT'S AN ACTUAL DIRECT HEAL?!). Earthliving Weapon ticks - doesn't proc it. Earth Shield - doesn't proc it. Our only viable method of stacking it is via CH, but that will only generate 4 stacks if 4 people have taken damage. Unlike WG, PoH, HR, CoH... While the aforementioned spells aren't strictly "direct heals" (Unleash Elements is definitely though) nor are WG, CoH, PoH (debatable?) or HR. Let HR stack the trinket please. |

No over time heal proccs it.
CoH and PoH are direct heals,no debate over that. HR has a direct heal component. WG has a direct heal as well, even though a HoT in nature. The reason behind that is that the first tick happens instantly. Healing Rain,Sanctuary and Efflorescence are not considered direct heals. If they were you'd jump straight to 10 stacks. The only one that *should* procc it is Unleash Elements with earthliving. But,it's not that it is hard to start stacking it before the fight starts. |

Well as a Resto Shaman it takes RT > HWx3 2.5 times which is about 12 seconds. As a Paladin it's instant as HR generates 10 seconds. For Druids it's 6 seconds as WG generates 5 instantly (6 if glyphed). For Priests it's pretty much instant too.
I think Healing Rain should proc it, at least the first tick of it. |

I don't think Unleash Elemental is a defined as a healing spell :p As for CoH, PoH and HR...what's the debate when they have a direct heal mentioned in their tooltip and can't be used offensively in any way. |

You don't use CH or what?
|
Chain Heal adds four stacks, so it's easy enough to get back up. Also, it won't fall off if you use Riptide on cooldown, which you should be doing anyway for most fights. It's still annoying, though. |

@Milkka So your chain heal doesnt jump before the fight starts? You are soloing bosses or what?
I ran heroic spine and heroic madness with Tsunami + Heart of the Unliving and I ended up with 100% tsunami uptime and 98% Heart uptime, and it falls off for every healer out there. You just have to spam something to keep stacks up, even if you don't have to. |

Well, that's because priest tooltips and mechanics seem to be completely messed over in cataclysm. They can't decide what is a direct and what is a over-time heal in their case really... |
You do realize that Chain Heal only jumps if there are nearby targets who are not on full health? If you cast it before a pull, it will only hit one target, as there will be no injured targets to jump to.
The distinction between "direct heal" and "heal over time" is both fuzzy and inconsistent. Unleash Life does only direct healing, but does not trigger HoU. Riptide does instant healing when you cast it and then a HoT, and triggers HoU. Healing Rain also does instant healing when you cast it and then a HoT, but does not trigger HoU. At the same time, any tick of Healing Rain can trigger Earthliving, while only the initial heal from Riptide can. Heals from Earth Shield are neither direct heals nor HoT ticks, and can't proc anything. |

Just o mention welcome to PoM/Living Seed ealing. That would be the reaction of Cenarion Ward spell (personally an awesome tool with too big cd - 30 secs).
I'm caling this kind of healing nonhot over time healig - noth in short. For the serenity chakra spells PoH CoH and Holy nova type now is nondirect atm healing- natmh in short. I labeled the names. |

what an useless thread and what a long series of replies for this...if you don't cast an heal at least once every 10secs in a raid you can't even be defined an healer, surely there's others that do 2times your efforts to keep up the healing for your bad work.

THE JUDGE HAS SPOKEN ALL BOW TO HIS WISDOM MORTALS.
Ya know, nanoperson, the point of the thread was that not all heals proc the trinket for no apparent reason. The fact that your class own heals all proc it, and that your class is actually one that casts instants for a large portion of their time raiding doesnt mean all of us have the same piece of cake. Anyways, on the topic, I recently acquired this magnificent piece of gear and since I use an atonement specc, I do need to watch that 10 seconds timer to make sure it doesn't fall of while I'm smiting. I've set up my weakauras to show me when the buff has less than 5 seconds on it (or missing) in combat and it does really help. dWJrdaGAOqTlOOEnuiZeQyUQKzd0PbDtPQESs62QIdlyNkXEP2nH9JG(PuLHru)gjNxvAOiWGHsnCHCqI0LjDmH6CsQfkkwQKelgQ0YH8qjj9uuldPEUettetvftwvnDfxuu6QqbEMi56szJsIVdLSzaBxP8rOiFvsQ(SOAEqbnsOQ(grmAOkJxL6Ksf3sK6Ai6EsszCsL(lcTnLQDSpMHM7igfbew1RoRuIYfhPGGeXNc8LihbrWPfaXud(vXQAUyogZjyM08J5V5VpMxPaPq(4fAxjHKoMExURmDkj1sQPnqAYAVKYv6wlhtNIMwozVljDSedKMK0ljUcPK9KDzjPQtI7sshVBG0KjEmJ0CiL48gPMh9EAi18DpaGIoUsTS8Es3u0XjjY77K7ginjT53EaafDCL0%@!1X01j11Y1ssrsBG0j7Mh9EAi1ChXOiGWQEj9)PeLRQRbmsAdfkxeqHLIK2qHsF9ddxsBOq5sAdfOn)HfmUjwh4M6mMd)pCGuIaiXbbZZvuXhVe7J5bbZZvKpMN3i1COHcMlnC1nvmCdaaEBMyvLYhI8rAvoMPWs0ta(6mM1nvmMXxdGdEMlnC1nvmeGua4TzMGS4GJzOytrf1zmlcpAXhVeBo7DuquGBkHy3hk(Em3eWXCey4vrM)kUnaGZBKAg)S4qqfmahpMBIbbZZvKpE84XmwW)GNxKilBw0EoiyEUIkEH28GG55kYhZi9XmPzkSe9eGVoJzr4rl(4LyZzVJcIcCtje7(qX3JzK(0lsrHHczgdRM5wrRI(4mEmJNcZXB8IezzZGuHVpMruGQpMFAGd0hpEm3kkXvQhCdJZ4Xm8Bo7DuquGBkHy3hk(Emh8XC27OGOa3ucXUpu8n3rmkciSQxDwPeLlosbbjIpf4lrocIGtlaIPg8RIv1J5nVeNil7Xg This is the string for it, reckon its pretty simple, but hope I don't offend anybody by posting it. |

:( sowwy? |

I found an error! ;o |
Mind Sear proccs it |
apperently you dont play Shaman, we have to regen casting LB's at some part in fights. During that part the buff falls off. So we have 2 waste a GCD to cast a healing spell, RT, to upkeep 10 stacks. It's doable as it is now, but a 15 second uptime and trigger effect from UE would help shaman greatly. |
