Any tips on how to rotate cooldowns and bubble and trinkets when theres 3 or four people on me?

Hey sorry didn't see you posting as you did 2 in a row ^_^.

Erm to survive multiple people you need to rotate CD's properly and not waste trinket, to survive more then one player you would like to use Divine Favor firstly as it increases your critchance alot and will give you more Infusion of Light procs.

Use Freedmo during the last second of the stun to NOT be on the GCD when you're out of the stun and can instantly use Divine Protection, if they're still chasting you and you're DR'd on stuns you should try and get casts off with Aura Mastery + Wings, if nothing happens and you're still dropping try and get yourself up with Guardian.

Your priotrity is always to get away, not outhealing the damage, you'll never surivve via healing, you need to get distance. Constantly jumping and cleansing(if there's no UA's on you) is always good as you might get Crippling / chains / Frostbolts debuffs off.

Always bubble early then at 5% as there migth be a Priest / competent Warrior nearby ;p

Mirion where do you bind your target macros? Do you have them binded to a mouse so you can strafe while targeting? Just curious.

I have them bound on Scroll up and down, target myself with pressing the scroll. Using Shift Scroll up / down to dispel each of them.

I don't have Q E bound to strafing, I use A D to strafe and have Q bound to HoJ and E for HoW(used to play Ret back in WoTLK ;-D).

Nice guide Mirion. Quite useful. :]How much resilience do you think is good for a holy pala nowadays? I'm currently running with 4200 (could push it to almost 4700 with a battlemasters or spellpower trink) but at times I feel so SQUISHY. :P

You are squishy, Paladins are not very strong right now, anything with a Rogue / Mage in it can switch to us and destroy us nomatter how much resiliance you have =p

If you die you just need more peels, it's that simple ;]

I've played with 2.7 resiliance this season to 2300 and I trued 5k, to be honest there's no diffrence.

If you're horde you'll get 4.4 from just normal gear and that's fine, I'm running 4k resiliance with Spirit BM trinket and don't feel like I need more.

Thanks. :]I've been playing holy for the past few days and new questions arose:

How to use BEACON OF LIGHT properly? Is it better to put it on whatever target I'm healing (for the extra HP) or is it better to keep, say, one on myself while healing a target, so as to make it easier to outheal spread dmg (like when playing vs locks who dot everything)?

I'm currently using Tsunami as my 2nd trinket and gotha say I love it. I basically never go oom and even if I get manaburned into hell I can still recover 20-30k easily in 5-10 secs with tsunami + divine plea. However, you said there's a better trinket in dragonland. Which one is it? I'm guessing the stacking spirit one? Or did you mean the one that randomly heals a party member who's low on hp?

Beacon is kinda dependat on what you're playing against.

If you're against something bursty like let's say RMP you want to keep it on something that's being targeted as the target can randomly drop and you need to get those instant casts out.

If you're against LSD2 wich just relys on DoTs I keep it on the target that's just bein off-doted, directly heal one target and keep myself alive with Holy Shocks / Protector of the innocent heals. Just to maximize the amount of healing you can do and not waste to much mana.

Either of those are better really, the RNG proc can be nice if you're a Human together with something else that gives survival. I had that trinket from Firelands(HC verison, it's kinda funny how it sometimes save you I must say ;P) The main trinket I'm talking about is the one dropping from Spine of Deathwing.

Also just a note I saw while checking your Spec, you don't need 2/2 Enlighted Judgement as you have enough spirit to get hitcapped without it! Conviction is a terrible talent but it increases your healing ^^

Speaking of conviction vs protector of the innocent. Is it worth taking 1 point away from PotI so that I'd get 3/3 conviction?

The primary reason I took 2/2 enlightened judgements is because of the judgement range. 15 yards on it just feels so weird after playing 30 yard judgement as ret for a long time. :P

Prottector of the Innoncent doesn't scale it's a setnumber so I don't see the point in maxing it.

The Judgement yard isn't that bad, you only need to Judge once a minute anyhow, totem, pets anything will do, when you're running in for a HoJ you can just judge before to.

Conviction is more healing so yeh I think it's worth it, it might fall off but it's better then nothing :p

Yeh, it might be my gear but I'm finding the healing output isn't nearly as huge as it seems when I'm on the other side (ie. when I'm dps fighting against a holy paly). So I guess getting +9% healing from conviction helps alleviate this problem a bit.

The reason I'm worried about judgement range is that I'm kinda used to heavy pillarhumping when playing a healer and I like to stand at a ~30 yard range from my teammates, so running into 15 yards to judge kinda leaves me feeling exposed. Guess I'll just hafta practice. :]BTW, been playing some 2s yesterday with a warrior buddy. I know it ain't a great comp, but at the low rating it actually seemed pretty strong. However, mage teams - and especially mage/disc - were a nightmare since it was utterly impossible to avoid huge cc chains, especially on arenas such as lordareon where I got only one pillar and the priest is always close enough to fear me. Got any advice for this?

We won a few of those matches by having my warrior either destroy the priest after a long game, or by relentlessly training the mage while I made sure the priest didn't get to drink/hymn. But I guess that won't work on higher ratings.

Mage/rogue was, also, quite horrible.EDIT: Oh and, when playing a melee cleave in 3s, how valid of a tactic is it to kill a mage's water elemental every time he summons one? We used to do this as ret/dk/sham in s10 and it helped a lot when we fought MLS, but I'm not sure how well this could work in s11? I'm asking because I'm considering trying kittycleave or ret/warr/disc sometime soon. :P

Mage Priest is a horror if you're not playing with a DK, the best target is to sit on for the Warior is the Priest and have him charge evry Deep -> Sheep he's trying to do, the rest if up to you to avoid. There's alot of small edges on Ruins you can use to LoS wich comes with experience and makes it alote asier to avoid CC once you know where you can actually stand.

Whenever I do 2s with a Melee I just freedom my Melee whenever he gets CoC novad and I can't find the global to dispel and quickly rebuff Hand of Salvation on him to protect the Freedom, tip for free(JUST LIKE THAT), best used if you're training the Mage obivously as he'll waste globals trying to dispel it.

In 3s it's good to kill WE's but some healers have a brain and heal them, but that will OOM them, if you're against a RMP I woulden't bother to try and kill them but against MLS / other spellcleaves for sure, if you can reach it easly that is. There's no point in chasing it around for 2 minutes.

Mage Rogue is a pain for sure but it's doable, you need to rotate defensive CDs, if you're Warrior trinkets first bomb you're pretty much bound to BoP the 2nd one or you'll lose for sure, that's another thing that comes with expereience if you're new to healing predicting bombs can be somewhat hard and make oyu lose alot of games.

And yes, our burst healing is alot lower then it seems, when people go from 5% -> 100% it's usaly guardian & personal CDs used at the same time, peopel also over exageratte quite alot when it comes to our burst healing.

Two questions for Mirion. :]

- I've watched your newest holy video (the rmpaladin one) and it's really nice, but I've noticed you don't really keep Judgements of the Pure buff up a lot of the time, even though you're often in a position where you can judge for the buff, you still don't do it. I myself have been doing my best to keep it up non stop when I do play holy. Is the buff not that important or?

- Are you going to write a hpala RBG guide and when? :D

In the video I cut quite alot becuse most games are very long so it drops off(for example the MLS games on ruins was already 2 minutes into the game, and JotP dropped off, I could of judged a totem).

It's important but 9% haste isn't really alot when you rely quite abit on instants, the Mana regen is good but it's ust me being lazy most of the times.

RBG part, maybe I will today don't know, will do it when I see a point in it. :p

Hey, nice RBG guide. I appreciate it. :]

Played lots of pug RBG yesterday and noticed some more stuff:

- Spamming big heals feels quite ineffective output-wise. Whenever I tried to spam Divine Light without cds/proc, it just seemed to come too slow and people were dropping too fast, so I had to go back to FoL spam almost every time.

- Is holy radiance any good? I sometimes used it during Infusion of Light procs when it seemed appropriate, but not sure if it was such a good idea overall.

- How do you setup your interface for healing RBGs? Right now, showing the raid frames actually seems to cover too much of my screen + staring at raid frames just feels like such tunnelvisioning to me, which is why I'm mostly healing via nameplates... But again, not sure how good of an idea this is as I basically have to click targets all the time when healing RBGs and it just kinda makes me feel so passive and dumb compared to how it is in arena. :P

Could you gimme a screenshot of your RBG interface or some advice on this? I just wanna see how other people do it.

Holy radiance is terrible, don't bother with it.

FoL spam is the way to heal in RBGs yeah, full spirit reforge to keep up, take turns to drink(Blood Elf silience is golden for RBGs.) talk with the other heales about when you have to drink so you don't go 2 at the same time.

http://i.imgur.com/hiOfd.jpg is my UI I use in RBGs, I do click targets in RBGs as having 10 keybinds for it is quite alot =P I might actually stream some RBGs soon if we get a full group.

You're still quite undergeared but I rarely go oom in RBGs, in most TP / WSG games im at around 10million healing~ if it's a game that takes around 20 minutes.

I rarely go oom and yeah, I usually top the healing meters.

Your interface is setup pretty much the same as mine, with the raid bars being beneath your char frame, close to the middle of the screen. What bothered me a bit about it is that sometimes I tend to fixate on the raid frames instead of actually looking at the rest of the screen and seeing what's actually happening. This doesn't happen too often, but sometimes I literally have to will myself to look away from the frames and pay more attention to everything else. :P

I find them to be a nice break from arena. Especially since my bad gear isn't such a big issue in RBGs as it is in arena. I don't even bother trying to look for a serious 3s team until I get full s11. :P

Gear isn't such a big issue for Paladins in Arena, i've had alts alot worse geared then yours and manage to get 2.4 with them =p

Yesterday I did RBGs, faced a team with 4 boomkins, 1 Fire Mage, 1 Rogue.

All from diffrent realm, I miss S10 RBGs without all the PvE gear.

Hello

I inherited this character from my brother (got me into Wow, then had a kid and had to leave under pain of family crisis) and have been playing while my mains - Disc priest and resto Sham have full CP and nothing else to do with them...

so, having read your guide, I clearly need to tweak the talents and get some better gear - but tried running in AV while it was on honour weekend (and kept running into 40-man German Horder premades who murdered us, but still...)

I have some basic questions - in big BGs like that, do you use holy radiance? I was putting BoL on someone squishy - say a rogue with reasonable HP, and concentrating my heals on the tank or a nearby DK if the other healers were on main tank. I never hit the top of the healing metres - I die too often because I haven't got the defensive CDs down yet and have to think about it - but when I lived to the end boss, I was in the top two or three.

so - atm, I am: Holy Shock on CD, Word of Glory when 3 stacks, Fill in with Flash of Light, or one of the big heals if there's time. pop the power infusion equivalent when I can, pop wings if there's not a spell-stealer about or an obvious dispeller (addon Purge is magic - tells every purge/dispel on the battleground, so easy to see who is dispelling what), HoJ (that's fun, never had a stun before), rebuke, judge, whatever....

anything I'm missing?

thanks

Justan ("Justan Other, paladin healer, at your service")

Heh... Thanks for rubbing it in that I'm a nooby. :p

Then again, watching your vids and generally seeing high rated arena footage from healer PoV, I noticed the dps-ers in those teams tend to stop A LOT of cc that would've otherwise caught the healer. Overall, there seems to be a lot less cc in high rated matches than there is in lower rated, where I basically get instants-spammed like mad.

But no matter how much I try to teach that to the 2000-2100 players I pick in trade, it never works. Even when I know exactly what's gonna happen and tell them to be prepared for it (like RMP openers). Which is why I kinda think I need to rely more on gear/myself to be able to survive. :P
