Please god nerf guards or just get rid of them
I know its been complained about alot, but I can't attack anyone in Goldshire/stormwind without being swarmed by guards. 85's summon 4 friends to deal with me while hiding in goldshire, not daring to step out of it, and when I go outside guard range they stop attacking and run back. It's !@#$ing pathetic.
BTW this isn't just on my rogue, on DK/huntard too |

Umh no,guards dont need nerfing. They are quite fine,if you want to kill stuff do BG's, find random people while exploring etc.
Its a city, town, fortress. Its supposed to be well protected not facerolled by 1 guy that thinks he is cool with epics. Guards are the only NPC's in the open world that pose a threat anymore, and thats exactly what WoW needs. Not 10 guards that hit you for 800 dmg every 3 seconds on autoatack, its a guard not a training dummy. |

Guards?? its just 1 lvl 85 guard thats attacking you, when you kill it a new one comes out...and why nerf them, I think they should be buffed, to easy to kill and not fun for low lvl ppls that taking quests or turn them in to see there questgiver is died and need to wait like 10-15 min before he/she respawns.
Well then why do you even attacking it, if there are no ppls there? LOL!!!! |

Guards are okay as they are. Raiding Cities are meant to be hard and a team effort, not by four level 85's. But I do agree guards outside of the Cities could do with a nerf.
I just said that the only place to find people is in these cities/towns |
I think they should be nerfed. When was the last time anyone ever saw a city-boss raid? Yea i don't remember too and i miss them alot. I saw 3 happening in SW in one week some time ago. Two times, players ported onto the keeps roof and rushed in, the last time they got ported to the auction house and obliterated all ~100 players for around half an hour, then they got bored and crusaded against vrynn. I figure there's less because everyone hangs around in og and sw and attacking them is hard. |

AHAHAHAHA. now that sounds like an alliance town. how pathetic. |
The only reason why alliance have a hard time doing For the Alliance is because Garrosh Hellscream´s chamber are to close where all hordes gather together at the AH...soon when we fly into his chamber, 5 sec later the place are swarm with hordes and we wipe. Atleast horde got it easy, flying on the side of Stormwinds walls to Varian´s castle, fly in, got alot of time to build up defences and just have bigger chance of killing Varian. |
What? I didnt even mention anything faction specific i was speaking generally, but i can see how that would be a problem. My point being is that i have only ever seen one city raid since the release of cataclysm on my server, yea there have probably been more, but they used to happen quite frequently even in vanilla. |

Lol as a low level player it's annoying that all the minuscule alliance settlements have some 85 in it. The 85 is not going to stop an 85 player anyway. (Unless he respawns instantly).
Last week I accidentally ran into that walled alliance settlement near the vortex in STV. I was only like 5 yards into it. I blinked, realizing where I was. Saw all the level ~40 npcs. Decided to leave, when BLAM got one-shotted by an 85 ranged guard that came out of nowhere. This means no level-equivalent player can attack any level-equivalent town or settlement that has PvP guards in it. Save a few exceptions. Where's the fun? |
The guards are there to defend the towns. If they kill you, they are clearly doing their job.
the guards are definately too tough fighting ine 1v1 never mind the instant respawn is rediculas. or guards that spawn out of no where with their cross bows it does happen.
Also as the player above says... settlements should only be defended by guards with a max lvl of 5lvls above the surrounding mobs. makes world pvp viable for those below 85. this wont affect begginer settlements like goldshire as pvp is turned off in those Remove instant guard spawns and nerf them to a reasonable lvl |
Perhaps the settlements should be defended by guards depending on qho is attacking. So any level will have a challenge to face. Not oneh itters, though.

They do need a nerf actually.
Raiding cities was all Wpvp back in the day, it was a challenge for all who enjoyed pvp but now that they can hit for 15k a hit is just plain retarded. And don't bring the "guards should defend their city" argument a hero is stronger than any normal guard by lore. |
Guards are trained to defend their home. In other words, they are trained to fight against armies and powerful individuals, such as adventurers, even if it means lots of guards against one adventurer.
Those 85 guards even insta-spawn against attacking creatures such as the Woodpaw Gnolls attacking Camp Mojache in Feralas.
They are surely something new, after Cata launched I remember doing PvP in Camp Mojache on my shaman against a group of alliance that tried to kill me while I was inside. The guards weren't there back then. That world PvP element is now impossible. |
