shaman missclick heal on totems
|

just a suggestion to any blizz folks out there to make totems, "cannot be targeted by a heal" thingy, for the next patch. would help alot:)

I'll be honest, I've been playing Resto shaman 2 years now and never noticed I could actually cast a heal while targetting a totem. Yep, it pops up Immune. It'd be nice to change it to selfheal if target is a totem

+1 for your guild name

Oh, I don't really know how many times my rejuvs have sweeped over a totem *cough*

A good UI combined with mouseover macros is your solution.
I can agree it shouldnt be possible to cast a heal (that will even be immuned) on totems. |

I assume they're targeting people to cast heals on them. I used to do that and I remember several incidents where I'd be spam healing a totem and wondering why the tank's HP wasn't moving, lol. It's easy to accidentally click on a totem (thus, targeting it) without noticing, I guess. A good UI with mouseover macros is the best way to go. Grid and Clique are handy addons to have, you can customise Grid very easily. Then you don't even need to target people to heal them. XD |

I don't really see how you manage to target the totem in the first place. Are you clicking on player characters in the "world" rather than their health bars or something? If so, that's something you should stop doing for a number of other reasons either way.

I would like to know how you heal when you acidentely healed a totem
Okey i egmite it i used LoH on a pet when i was on my paladin on LFR but totems... GUD Y LERN ME HOW |
|
|
i do it all the time lol but not with a heal usaly when im targeting to use LB its anoying to say the least

Well some of us doesn't have this problem. I cannot see how my PoH or CoH or PoM will go to heal a totem, so it's your problem, fix it :D
Back to the thread - blizz should make a priority, like one that choose ranges over melee on bosses, because it's basicly mana/time waste to heal totems. |
|
|
How the hell is it even possibly to accidentally heal a totem? I just can't picture it at all lol.
I honestly don't think Blizzard should be wasting time trying to sort this out when they have better things they could do with time/money. It seems in all cases it is generally the player being bad. You should have a decent UI and you shouldn't be mindless clicking around to heal stuff that doesn't need healing anyway. |

I never found mouseover macros good for healing. Just get a heal addon like grid or healbot.

I'm using mouseover macros + grid and it happens sometimes. I'd like this change!
|
Well, the idea is generally to use mouseover macros + an addon like Grid or Vuhdo.
Same, and I've played a resto shaman since vanilla. I'm not really sure how people manage. |
|
I wouldn't like to try healing by clicking on characters rather than raidframes in a 25 man environment :D

I sometimes lose my target during hour of twilight on Ultraxion. I doesn't really matter because I don't heal my target anyway, but I can see how it could happen.
I only do this in AV when I have no idea who's who and frankly I haven't bothered setting up vuhdo for 10 groups. |
Standard practice in AV, really. Enable friendly health bars above people's heads, then heal by mouseover on those. Looking at the raid frames will just confuse you, as most of the raid will be out of range at any given moment. |
