Best spec for hunter in PVP
|
|
so what is the best spec for a hunter in pvp atm ( 4.3.2)
|
|
|
depends on what you're doing
random bgs: BM everything else: MM failing: SV |
|
|
depends on what you're doing Why would BM be better in random bg than MM? |
|
|
MM all the way
Bm is nice at the begining, without readiness and silence shot you feel powerless later in the game :D |
|
|
Just read one of the other thousand topics on this matter.....
BM is good for random bg's and Arena at lower ratings. MM is good for everything. There is no such thing as a "best pvp spec". This is a bit different than dragonslaying. |

depends on what you're doing shorter cooldowns better self sustainability with spirit beast increased healing done to you in case you DO have a healer or offheals from a hybrid. People panic when they see big red kitteh not hunter. |
Don't listen to this guy... He really aint fought many competent randoms on his travels. Go MM or go home in all honesty. After a while you will realise how huge having readiness is. Another thing, I personally tranq shot BM's heal, because you know... it's dispellable. Plus it aint really going to save you much. Chim shot heal is much better. I get 16k crit heals, not bad to get 8/16k heals every 9 seconds that can't be dispelled. |

i fought you in bgs today on my shaman and you're just a massive coward who hides behind his healers and runs in for killsteals and then uses every cd he has if there's even a slight chance of dying.
moving on. MM is good in random bgs but not if you want to make solo kills, you don't really have the versatility of having a pet to do damage to people at melee range when you're being trained. Having a 8 second disengage when being attacked by melee also helps a lot and you don't really need the silence if you're just arsing about in bgs. I play MM personally but I have played BM in bgs before and the on demand burst every minute and a half is much better than aimed+chimera with trinket up. |

I have more fun with BM spec on random bg's or if I play arena with not that competent people. So for me BM is better for those two. I agree with some other posters that MM is definitely simply better if you wanna give you'r team the best hunter has to offer.
But games are about having fun so BM is best, imo. :P |

MM for standing in the background like a chicken and deal damage.
BM for more 1v1 action due to CC. Your pet is also stronger. A massive help as your pet can then chase and nom down people at its own will. Surv... I think it has a great burst and some of the trap perks help, but general damage is... well, kinda poor. So if burst is avoided by the enemy, you are screwed. |

For random bg's SV is great for smashing faces inwards,
Just my opinion from a non-pvp heavy background though :P |

For the love of all that is holy, just don't PvP as BM. It takes so little skill and it's so boring to play.

For random bg's SV is great for smashing faces inwards, It looks good on paper but reality is worse. Wyvern sting has far too long cd for 8 seconds cc , i wonder if we could live to the time when polymorph would have such cd :D Lack of any self heals makes you very vulnerable on random bgs when you can't count on healers. lock'n'loading mechanic is not your friend too , to be effective requires something that is hard to achive in pvp , proper shot rotation. In pvp you can't expect to follow the book to the line to make good dps, you need to react to situation and enemy is not always friendly as Deathwing. While sv is very effective against all plate users i found it far worse than mm against all casters. Until pandas invade MM will be the king of the hill, after that sv may be good thanks to the new talent system, especially it will be the only way to get Entrapment talent. |

Personal preference really, do you want your pet to do all the work or do you want to have a lot of control as mm and kill him yourself
i really dont like bm, i like the control mm gives and seem to get locked up a lot as bm, it feels so clunky with no real depth to it During this av weekend ive seen quite a few bm hunters that depended on their pet too much, last one met i literally feigned death and waited out his cd then blew him to bits |
i fought you in bgs today on my shaman and you're just a massive coward who hides behind his healers and runs in for killsteals and then uses every cd he has if there's even a slight chance of dying. hmm, ya know i've been reading this forum a long time and every question BAM this guy butts in, soooo. he's never been at/above 2k in any bracket. he's got 1 RBG achiev. i've played him on my lock and he's decent at best. so please leave he's advice alone, and dont let him kid you. have a nice day lllana :) |

BM for facerollin Random BGs (for them haters: Cus of the short CD on BW makes u aviable to solo 3-4 people at the same time ever 1 min, followed by rapid fire if needed while keeping focus fire up and adding the spirit beast heal which resets after resummoning a new pet(5x SB's= 5%-100%) It's a more solo spec due to how strong it is with CD's)
If u got a pocket healer go w/e. MM for the rest, simply cus it aint that buggy and cus of Chimera Shot+Silencing Shot and Readiness. |

Play what you prefer...i play both, and i found good utilities in both: MM and BM. For random battle and arena 2v2 i really prefer BM. For 3v3 or 5v5 maybe MM it's better, but all depend of your team. For rated battles the same, depends of you team. Both have one problem: BM you depend more of your pet, and you need control better your pet, don't use BW in beggining...try to use when others try to cc your pet. BW break the cc. MM have less mobility, your best shot - aimed shot - you almost can't shot, i think it's for that i usually saw the MM hunters behind all team in random battles. The MM that says they scare beast your pet, it's true they can't do that, but a good BM hunter don't let they do that, save BW for that moments. If you prefer be a ranger go MM, if you prefer be a really hunter go BM or SV. I don't know much of SV. If it helps you, in my duels like BM i always won to MM, and in arena the same in 2v2. But i really enjoy both spec. Sorry my english.

lvl 1s dont have arena silly, posting on this lvl 1 dont make me a liar, and nice pvp achievs on that pally to. i rest my case. |

no in fact, posting on a level 1 DOES make you a liar, until proven otherwise. |
