Gurthalak voice of the deeps VS T2-410 greatsword
|
Hello there! I have a question regarding the I-lvl 403 Gurthalak voice of the deeps proc sword and the elite T2 I-lvl 410 pvp 2 hander(sword/axe/mace).
Alot of people are telling me that the gurthalak proc weapon would be better than the elite pvp weapon even though the pvp weapon has more dps and total max dmg(and resil on it). I'm not sure which one I should use as the procs on gurthalak are so RNG. Any advice? Thanks in advance. |

I would go with T2 unless you have the ivl 416 version of Gurthalak. You might have better burst with Gurthalak when a tentacle procs but its based on rng so you cant count on it. And as far as ive heard you will still do more damage with the t2 wep but have less burst but you gain more hp, res & higher damage on all you're abilitys.

I dont like LFR gurth, pref using t1

Why is the LFR gurth considered the best out of all the gurths?

He means tier 1 < LFR gurth < tier 2 < 403 gurth < 416 gurth. As in less than signs. For me, it's LFR < Normal < Heroic < T1 < T2, simply because everyone and their grandmother has learned how to kill a tentacle. |

tier 1 < LFR gurth < tier 2 < 403 gurth < 416 gurth
Just because people know that they should kill the tentacles doesn't make the tentacles useless, they might be slowed or rooted and have to waste time trying to kill them. Sometimes in arena people cannot spare the globals to kill them, because that would tremendously decrease their pressure output. It shines against hunters and mages because you can keep the pressure up even when you're sitting in roots/snares/CCs. |

Whatever you play with, remember you can swap weapons in combat. If you are getting trained all game then use the t1 for extra resi. If you are free to attack alot then use gurth.
Gurth does win games with rng, if you proc 3 tentacles they will annihilate your target so quickly its not funny. Then some games you dont proc any tentacles, or you proc them and the person can just run away or whatever, so yeh its all very random. |

Are u sure about tier 2 pvp being better than LFR gurthalak? Tentacles seem to do 3k a tick sometimes, if u bladestorm a group and get lucky, 3 tentacles can proc and that's alot of dmg output. Or did someone actually do all the numbercrunching?

LFR Gurthalak is definitely better than T1, T2 is definitely better than LFR and arguably better than Normal Gurthalak, I think it's generally a toss up, without procs T2 is better, with procs Normal Gurthalak is better, Heroic Gurthalak is much better than all.

You can kill them tentacles in couple hits. And isn't it limited to 2 tentacles at a time?

The tentacles hit for like 10k per second on people with no resilience so against PvP geared people you should see 5-6k ticks each second which is quite nice extra damage and it lasts 12 seconds if nobody kills it. At best case scenario I've had in 1v1 had 3 proc nearly at the same time. With some tentacle luck and you using your cooldowns when they do proc there's no healer you can't kill. :)
