[A-RP] The Gilnean League
"The League was formed during the darkest of days. Strife and civil war were everywhere; but it did not prevent one ambitious Lord from sending out a call to a curious mixture of men and women from all walks of life. From Lords and Ladies to warriors, scholars and rapscallions, many answered the invitation of the Lord. A pact was made, and out of the darkest days of the nation rose the League. The Gilnean League, as it was known to outsiders, had only one motive: To do what it must to better the nation of Gilneas in any way it can. The League was formed to fight for the greater good of Gilneas in all forms and on all battlefields. Be it economically, political and the actual battlefront itself." - Excerpt from the Deep Archives, Section 543, Aisle G, Row 5 - Alabast H. Hughtlenoow Recent Happenings: __________________________________________________________________________________The Gilnean League returned to Gilneas with the intention of reaffirming its presence in the war-torn country. Lead by Matriarch Adelaide Moore, the former initiative has been rekindled and hope for the group has risen again. The reinstating of the Watch has secured Keel Harbour further as a safe zone for those still inhabiting the area; clinging to their homes. This has also given the amount of security needed to cater for the coming of the Keel Harbour Village Hours and the reopening of the Rose's Thorn Tavern. The market, having been a success in the past, has occurred twice fold since the League's return to the harbour. During which time friends have been made, providing a stable foundation for future allegiances. On the 28th of January an orphaned girl had been discovered in the harbour, murdered. This was only the beginning, unfortunately. A series of vile killings committed by one referred to as the Lupine Letter by those that have been informed about the happenings. The murders are as of yet unsolved, and unfortunately, are ongoing. An investigation is underway, but a lack of professionalism may slow down the process tremendously. Outside support has been requested through the posting of an article in the Argent Post. So far, a total of four victims have been found with similar causes of death; all of which are twisted, cruel and unsightly. The League have been in contact recently with representatives of the Grand Alliance in regards to the offensive shown by the unrelenting Horde. Hopefully, this will yield some results that in turn favour the group themselves in their endeavours. __________________________________________________________________________________ |

Guild Divisions:
__________________________________________________________________________________Striving to be considered diverse, the League have various aspects which keep everything in order. These consist of: __________________________________________________________________________________
The Affiliates are the base of the League. These are the people which keep everything flowing. They cook our meals, sew our clothes, tend to faults in the our lodgings and more. The group consist of bakers, blacksmiths, tailors, masons, chandlers and anything else domestic. The Academics: The group of individuals known as the Academics consists of people who have been granted a higher standard of education. Scholars, librarians, politicians and nobility will find themselves drawn to this particular circle. Disciples of Goldrinn (D.o.G): The mysterious Harvest Witches of Gilneas who utilised nature magic to nourish the crops when the Gilneans were on the verge of starvation met with the Kaldorei druids who taught them of the specifics of their affliction. The curse derived from the rage of the wolf demi-god Goldrinn. Henceforth, many of these became disciples of this faith - dubbing themselves Disciples of Goldrinn. The Watch: Those in the League capable enough to bear arms in order to defend their kin are known as the Watch. The group consists of citizens, retired soldiers and mercenaries. They protect the Leaguesmen and guard their encampments at all times. The Emissaries: Willing enough to travel, the Emissaries are the eyes, ears and mouth of the Gilnean League in foreign lands. For the most part, they seek out recruits, carry messages and try to raise awareness of the League's cause. The Wolfguard: The Wolfguard, those charged with the protection of the members of the Inner Circle. These would be the most capable Leaguesmen, willing to defend their superiors in any way possible. Only the most trusted members of the cause find themselves in such a prestigious position. The Inner Circle: The self-elected leaders of the League, guides and head of their individual divisions are granted a place within the Inner Circle. In here, they decide upon the course of action within the League in a democratic manner; working for the betterment of Gilnean society. (Out of Character) OOC Information: __________________________________________________________________________________The Gilnean League strive to bring a civilised, lore abiding and realistic guild, as well as characters, into the role playing community; as a Gilnean entity. An Argent Archives profile for the character is not required, but appreciated. Respect towards guild members and acting officers alike is not an option - it's an expectation. Treat your peers in the fashion you wished to be, yourself. Knowledge of Gilnean lore will be expected, to a degree. There is always room for development at a later date. Despite the hardships in the fought-over country of Gilneas, small groups of civilians still remain vigilant in their beliefs that the tide will turn sooner rather than later. In order to keep their spirits up, these civilians - partially protected by the 7th Legion, partially by their curse - attend the weekly sermons hosted in the Light's Dawn Cathedral, Gilneas City. The preachings received here would restore some form of faith in the Light - after all that had been done to tear that faith asunder - and in chances of winning the battle that is still to come. __________________________________________________________________________________ As always there will be a sermon held on Sunday by none other than Father Cooper (Coppertail) in Light's Dawn Cathedral at 20.00 GMT. Everyone is welcome to attend should their intent not be to disrupt the sermon or cause mischief. We are hoping it will add some urgency to the war feel in Gilneas. Some of which is often forgotten amidst many of the other events also hosted there. If you are of the faithful, or simply wishing to find likeminded players to roleplay with in Gilneas - come by this Sunday for the service! Should you have any questions regarding the event, contact Ashcott, Adelaide or Coppertail and we will be sure to respond accordingly. Question; Night Elves yay or nay?
Night Elves would be a 'nay'. It's something we've often discussed, however, since the name dictates 'Gilnean' we've chosen to keep it that way. |
