[RP] Sons of Lothar - Recruitment
|

*A horse gallops through the busy streets of Stormwind, coated in finely crafted armor which glitters in the afternoon sun. Twisting in and out of narrow streets, crossing bridges over the city's glimmering canals. The horse finally comes to a halt with the rider pulling firmly on the reins. Sliding down from the horse, the rider pats the tired animal's neck followed by casting a glance up to the magnificent Cathedral.
The rider ties the reins to the street post before flicking the clear white cape over his shoulder. Quickly striding off up the steps heavy footed until reaching the top. Turning to look over the city a clear view off the buzzing scenes below is seen. "Long live the Alliance! For Anduin Lothar" – Bellowing out this cry a silence falls over the square. The rider smiles and strides into the Cathedral.* So yes, the Sons of Lothar is back from a long time of inactivity. Those who have been on Argent Dawn for a few years might remember us, those who don't - we hope to get to know you! Please note that since our inactivity, we've decided to change the ranks, uniforms and our attitude against the Horde - thereby announcing that we henceforth are hostile with them. Below, we're giving the readers the opportunity to get to know who we are, what we do and why we're doing it - by all means, let us try to explain! Quick Questions! - Who are the Sons of Lothar? Official Lore - Without going into a long lore history which no doubt most of those reading already know, the Sons of Lothar was formed after the great Anduin Lothar's death. A title carried by those members of the grand alliance back in second war and into the invasion of Draenor. The most noteable members and founders of this order would be; Archmage Khadgar, Danath Trollbane, Kurdan Wildhammer, Alleria Windrunner and Turalyon. Three of which are still in-game today and bare the title Sons of Lothar. Us - Now, we roleplay as a division of this order. Carrying the name, we try to follow the actions and paths we would think the official order would take. At the moment we consider ourselves as an Azerothian division, considering the lack of story advancement in Outland and the lack of activity we find ourselves working in Azeroth mostly. We hold the founders as the high commanders and will follow their orders if called upon (if something in lore is updated). Other than that we do our own work, trying to carry on the great legacy Lothar left and safe guard the alliance. - Do you have a guild Argent Archives page? Yes we do, feel free to go there and get more information about us: www.argentarchives.org/node/19519 - Okay, so why are you trying to come back, considering all the other guilds fighting for members? The reason for this is simple. We enjoyed it, we enjoyed the time we had and would hope people interacting with us liked it as well. We also want to create a solid firm guild within the alliance what will unite the community. That counts for both alliance and horde. It's really as simple as that. - So what do you do? The goal of our guild is to keep alive the legacy and name of Lothar. Without his actions the likely hood of the alliance being around today is low. It's something that we see a lack of a lot. No one really remembers or cares about what he did. Which is hard to believe as he is considered the greatest alliance hero. Also the five statues leading into Stormwind; they are not there just because they look pretty, they're there to honor the actions they took to save the alliance and its people. - So, you do events and stuff right? Oh yes, we plan to hold events as much as we can! Not just the standard military training stand in a line - kind of things. We want to work with other guilds to keep a constant community feeling going. We already have a few guilds offering to hold events with us and build some interesting story lines. We also allow any of our members to create an event. We strongly encourage involvement with the community. - Right, so what can you offer different than the other million military guilds? That's a hard question. Every guild has something different and equally rewarding to a player. What we can offer is a friendly atmosphere, a respect for the lore, an in-character calling back to the old alliance, and a few different ranks. - Ranks, how will they win me over? With our ranking system we hope to bring interest into ones character and a will to stick at it and work upwards. At first our ranks seem fairly normal to a military guild. But later on if you stick at it you'll become a knight. Where we hope this will offer players something to aim for and create some interesting roleplay not just for the guild but for the whole community. A more detailed list of our ranks can be found on our Argent Archives page. |

- You can make me a knight, isn't that a bit over the top? And I can just do that myself. *edits MRP*
It all depends on a person's view, anyone can roleplay anything they want. And it's not a one day thing, to achieve the rank within our guild your character will have to prove they have what it takes. We feel that it's more rewarding when your character works to achieve something and that's how we'll use this. Once your character achieves this rank you'll be in-character rewarded the title, given some new perks and be open to what we hope some interesting roleplay. This isn’t the normal Knight rank where you are just a normal solider. Think more back to medieval periods and you’ll have a closer idea to how we do it! - Okay, well what if my character already is considered a knight? If your character already is a Knight, then that's okay. But you won't be a Sons of Lothar Knight, your goal would be to aim for that! - So do you have any rules? Yes we do, there is a list of both our in-character and out-of-character on our Argent Archives page, so once again we direct you there due to the 5000 character limit. - Well I am out of questions for time being, how do I apply? If you'd like to join our guild, it's simple! Just send a message to either Calisa or Yazoo in-game using the mail system or whispers. We'd be happy to direct you through the next stages of joining our guild. Summary So we hope that was an interesting read and provokes some attention. To sum up what we are quickly; we are coming back from being inactive. We want to build bridges in the community to get a greater feeling of this being a world with other lives in it. We want to bring some lore into a military guild and where the alliance came from. And most importantly, we just want to have fun roleplaying. If you have any other questions feel free to ask any of our members in-game. Should you bear any issues with a guild member or the guild itself, please contact us in-game and we'll discuss the matter. We don't want our recruitment thread to be derailed. Thank you. For the Alliance and Anduin Lothar! |

Thank the Light, someone actually worth killing. Welcome back!

Best of luck to you Calisa.
Regards! |

Best of luck to you Calisa. Thank you Methalec! We still plan to hold the Sons of Lothar on a neutral stance with the House of SharTal, that goes as long as our guilds path doesn't cross in horrific ways - I hope that you're still willing to uphold the mutual interests we share.
Valreth, I will treat you as a worthy opponent in any case, thank you for your supporting words :) |

First to note; -SONS- of Lothar. Not Daughters.
Hurr, beyond that I suppose it could be 'OK' however I have some criticising as I see it; Beyond the name and lore put up behind it (Not by you, might I add) you're not much different from the other knightly/Military orders about. |

First to note; -SONS- of Lothar. Not Daughters. Criticism and feedback is always welcome. It helps us improve on what we have :) |
|
|
So, what differs you, is my followup question to that statement.
|
|
|
Sorry for the slow reply! It's a hard question, every guild has something different to offer. What we would like to say we have different is that of our ties with the Lore are strong. Being under the name of Sons of Lothar. We're also willing to work with anyone else to create a more interactive community. Be it another guild or player. That and the further you get up in our guild, the more responsibilities you will earn. I hope this helps provoke some interest! Feel free to contact us for more details on anything. |

I'm disappointed. To be honest, I had expected more from you, Cal. You shamelessly lied to Nirano and Hectar.
You allowed SoL to break down, you refused to allow Nirano and Hectar rebuild it, you even declared SoL to be dead, and to follow you and Natharen to the grave. I believe you and Nirano have some talking to do. |

I'm disappointed. To be honest, I had expected more from you, Cal. You shamelessly lied to Nirano and Hectar. I believe you said it yourself with the last line. There are two sides to coin, don't believe one thing without hearing both sides. With that said, I do believe it was mentioned to bring up all concerns in-game instead on the forums to avoid possible arguments. Please follow our wishes or simply do not post in out recruitment, thank you. |

Sons of Lothar are already higher rated in my opinion than the "other knightly/Military orders" because of their standard of roleplay alone; they will probably be the first guild of the sort to succeed without having to yell for people to join their cause in the middle of Stormwind. I believe those who do yell should be arrested for a public disorder offence (guards?). I am considering joining on one of my many alternate characters. |

We'll soon be beating on you cultists, you and your brain slug paper weight things.

I wish you good luck with the idea!
Though a word of warning: I might be entirely mistaken, but isn't it against Blizzard's rules to claim a faction's name as your own? Might be wrong there! |
