Disc priest T13 4-set?

Hello there fellow priests,
I am currently running WITHOUT the 4-set of T13, simply because the way i see it is that, because im stacking mastery, i tend to spam PS:S a lot of the time, this being said, if i get 100% increased shield, thats nice, but 100% increased Rapture? what if my rapture is already on internal cooldown, which is likely considering the weaker shields are going to pop and give my rapture first? I am correct in saying its better to lose the 4-set, or have i miss-read something? |

On average, you're probably looking at a 100% increased Rapture somewhere between 7% and 10% of the time. In a perfect world, the only shield to collapse and Rapture would be the one you have on the tank every 12 seconds; however, if you have more than 1 shield up there's a chance that one of the other shields will collapse instead and proc Rapture. Depending on how often you have a lot of shields up and who are your primary shielded targets (if you're generally shielding tanks they will usually take more damage so there's a greater chance a double strength shield will collapse before a normal strength shield elsewhere) will determine how often you get the double Rapture return. Looking at logs for me it seems to be that about 7% of my shields are returning double the mana.
If you really want to make sure you maximise the mana return from the 4-piece then you could make sure that only one shield is up whenever Rapture is off CD. |

See, but that is not the best way to do things, only have shielded one player, and even so, its 10% chance, so its far more efficient to be shielding multiple targets than it is to hope for the proc. However, i will maintain the 4-set, but i won't be affraid to replace it with an item that has better stats.

Yes, I may well do that, but what im saying in this post is, that im not bothered about keeping my 4-set, i.e, if an item drops that has more Int/spirit/mastery on it, then ill take it, because the 4-set is very ineffective in my play style.

I personally think blizz should add a "Haaaallleeelujjjjaaaaahhh" sound every time the shield procs. It would mark its awesomeness (and rarity).
Myself- keeping the 4set in lack of something better really. |
