Topic consistently low fps

I recently started playing World of Warcraft again, and have been using the same laptop I used when I used to play back in 2009. Back then I just got the laptop and was getting around the 30 - 60 fps mark even when in Bg's/Raids. I've recently started playing again 3 years on, and am now getting anywhere from between 3 - 14 fps, even with the lowest graphic settings (view distance at it's lowest etc). Back when I used to play I had the graphics settings on normal, and it's still saying the reccomended graphics settings for my laptop should be normal.

Now, is there any way that I can improve my FPS, without forking out any money? I've used up half C: drive, would this affect it at all? Could it be the new content that's slowing the frame rate down? Has anyone got any tips on how to make it higher?

It could be a hardware issue, also a registery issue.
If the laptop hasn't been wiped completely and reinstalled after it was bought, no wonder it's achin up.

These are my SPECS:

Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
System Model: Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC
Bios: PheonixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1
Processor: AMD Turion Dual-Core RM-70 (2 CPUs), - 2.0Ghz
Memory: 2814MB RAM
Page File: 1704MB Used, 4137MB Remaining
DirectX Version: DirectX 10

As an above poster has stated, it could be my fan. It seems to get heated very quickly. With compaq's they are near impossible to dissemble. My friend told me about canned air however, is this the only method?

probably heat issues with that fan after so many years (and no cleaning) its prolly totally full dust by now, and you're lucky its still working and not burned through as a friend of mine had :P

It's hard to reach it but totally worth spending time on to clean the inside.. canned air prolly wont work after this much time, disassemble and a brush (not too hard, i use some new paint brushes to clean fans, a pincher sometimes to lift up big covers of dust on cooling ribs) and a vacume cleaner is what i'd use (and be carefull ofcourse ;) )

ground yourself often while cleaning

p.s. a 50% full C: drive shouldnt slow you down, I'd only worry about that close to 80-90% full
