[Horde, IC] The Noticeboard
|
|
((This thread is for posting IC notifications, posters etc. of RP events and occurances which are happening soon. Originally part of a project - for OOC on that, see here http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3389262363 - but feel free to use this thread for RP events not related to that, too.))
In every district of Orgrimmar, there is a noticeboard. In Thunder Bluff, too, and Undercity; every major Horde city, and several of the minor ones, too. Crossroads, Tarren Mill, even Booty Bay has a noticeboard for Orcish-language notifications - and although they're often used to disseminate the Warchief's commands, there is nothing stopping the Horde's citizens from using them, as well. The Horde citizens, and Horde organisations, and the neutral organisations who wish for the help of Horde mercenaries all post there. For the eyes of the same, often. Sometimes, certain postings will find their way from the Horde noticeboards onto the Earthen Ring's, or the Argent Dawn's, or the Cenarion Circle's - it depends on the job. But if you have a task, or a bounty, or a party? Posting it here is one of the best ways to get it to as many eyes and ears as possible in as short a time as possible. |

*A brightly colored poster is spread around Silvermoon*
'My dear fellow Silvermoon-ians. My name is Shyntelle Fonoy and I decided to take charge of Wayfarer's. I'm hiring staff and will be organising a nice opening evening as soon as I've completed the crew. Write me a letter if you are interested in joining me. I need at least three more barkeeps and two more security personell. And for all of you who enjoy a good meal and drink: be welcome tomorrow night when I start running my first test-evening!' ((OOC, I will be on and off online hence I want to do this with some others. Also: I hope I didn't snitch the place of anybody else but as far as I know it wasn't claimed yet on this realm)) |

Throughout all of Orgrimmar the same post on all noticeboards has been made.
Citizens of the Horde, with The Destroyer slain and his armies of cultists scattered, we may finally start to look towards our ravaged homelands, yet there are still many threats left to contend with and so, while our armies are out there, we must look inward and begin to rebuild, to help those who have suffered the most from this war. Seasoned war veteran Blademaster Ruharg has returned from the front to help in this matter and has proposed that a militia be formed to specifically deal with this, he requests that any and all able-bodied people of the Horde who are willing come and see him outside Grol'dom Farm. You will be expected to help aid the wounded, fight off persistent threats such as harpies, Burning Blade Cultists and anything else that proves an immediate danger, as well as ensuring supply routes, as such we require able fighters, medics and those who have experience at riding kodos and guiding supply caravans. The Horde thanks you for your loyal service. (( See http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3389262363?page=1#6 for more info, times and dates etc. )) |

Throughout the cities of the Horde posters are put up by Ebon Knights of all races. The posters content seems to be drawn with a brush
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Horde. I have been given the task to hunt the wretched ghoul Herschel Facemuncher and his group of zombies that've been harrassing caravans. Now, you're probably thinking ' ghoul named Herschel how dangerous can he be?' Herschel has killed three mercenaries that've tried to kill him. And many more people travelling through the Eastern Plaguelands. If we succeed we shall take down the ghoul Partfine Jackal, a thorn in the side of many travellers through the Ghostlands. He commands a small group of zombies and nerubians. If we succeed we shall hunt more ghouls. Report to your local Ebon Knight. Death guide you, Ilthillor Talah'Dal (( More info at http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3389262363 )) |

<The following announcement is written in two parts, the first is written in goblin script.>
Greetings, members of the Horde! The return of the Brashtide has proven damaging to Booty Bay's interests. Recently, a ship returning from Northrend was lost, presumably at or around Gilenas. Why are we contacting the Horde? Simply put, the Alliance is ignoring all and any questions regarding the Brashtide and its cursed crew, citing the ongoing war and preservation of their interests as 'reason'. By joining you are eligible for the following: -The pay befitting a Blackwater operative. -One (1) peg-leg and two (2) eye-patches per person. -The gratitude of Booty Bay (does not include a bonus to your pay, any form of price reduction on any Booty Bay merchandise, free booze). However, you shall not receive any of the following: -Recompensation in case of injury and/or death. -Recompensation in case of your friend's injury and/or death. -Treasure. -Parrots. -Weapons (unless paid for). In case you are interested, contact the Blackwater associate Krasha. Signed, Baron Revilgaz <Large and overly complicated signature> <The second part is written rather hastily in Orcish.> Here's the deal: worgen been stealing ships, Booty Bay needs Horde to help because Alliance won't bloody well explain what the fel's happening. The job pays good. Ask for Krasha in The Wyvern's Tail if y'wanna join. <The 'signature' is comprised of a large wolf's paw-print and an illegible scrawl.> ((More at http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3389262363?page=2#33 )) |

[[The paper this particular notice is written on is rich, and officially embellished with the seal of the Argent Crusade – a circle of wax imprinted with the mark of the order.]]
Citizens of the Horde and Alliance, With the scourge threat in the plaguelands thinning, we must now endeavour to press our efforts in other areas beyond our comfort zones. Following the fall of the Lich King, the Argent Dawn were proud to call themselves allies of the Ebon Knights of Acherus, and to that honour we hold, but not all share our sentiment. Many Ebon Knights have in the past rallied their forces and broken their oath to the banner of the Crusade, many have also been dispatched. But one eludes us. Callere Heartseeker, a former Champion of the Unholy Blade has forsaken of her allegiances to both Acherus and the Horde and has run wayward. To what cause or purpose we do not know, but this Knight must be stopped. She is a Sin’dorei with a noble air, but is not to be trusted. Armed and dangerous, Heartseeker has indiscriminately pillaged villages, towns, and camps, and has risen enough of those she murdered to be considered a threat. Settlements in the Forsaken territories, the Plaguelands and the southern areas have also been targeted. In order to prevent further damage, Knights of the Light and of the Ebon Blade have been stationed in various locations in the Plaguelands and beyond in order to deter this wretch. But alas, we do not have the available forces to truly eradicate this threat. To that end, we ask any an all able people to pursue, and – if possible – capture – or if not, kill – Heartseeker and any allies she may have rallied to her psychotic cause, before she is beyond us. Although we can offer no discernable reward save our gratitude, it is for the good of all that Heartseeker be put to rest. -Emissary of the Argent Crusade [[With an Acherus seal, and several small runes, another note sits affixed to that of the Argent Crusade, the paper is cruder in quality, and the writing hastily formed.]] Citizens of the Horde! The wretch known as Callere Heartseeker has struck yet again. After attempting to sack Hearthglen, but being deterred by the Knights stationed there, it is with regret, that Acherus seeks the immediate aid of any who are willing. We must put an end to Heartseeker, for she muddies the name of Acherus more than we dare tolerate. Please seek out Ebon Commander Reví Sceré at the bridge crossing of Thorondril River, at the boarders of the Western Plague land. -Emissary of Acherus Obligatory OOC details: The OOC information can be found here ( http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3389262363?page=3#52 ) but is not to be considered canon until the evening of the event. Please join the RollingHillsOOC and the HordeRP channels. The official IC Call To Arms will be issued at 19:30 server time to IC’ly give characters time to get to the meeting location. |

Pinned to the noticeboards in the five Horde cities is a letter, penned in red ink on fine parchment. The handwriting seems rather awkward, as if the authour was unused to the orcish alphabet.
"Managem aquisition and refinement Volunteers are needed for the handling of delicate arcane equipment or protection duty for an expedition into the far wastes of Draenor to extract and refine mana crystals. This group will be heading to Netherstorm and then Shadowmoon, and will likely be highly dangerous. Those wishing to come on this venture ought to contact Khairan Sunshard." The notice is signed at the bottom in elegant Thalassian script. ((OOC recruitment post here http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3389262363?page=6#101 )) |

Plastered upon every noticeboard in every city to an excessive extent, are posters featuring emboldened text in mediocre orcish. Stamped proudly to the bottom of each and every poster is the official seal of the Forsaken - that must have depleted their resin supplies, judging from the sheer number.
MEMBERS OF THE HORDE THE FORMER ORGANISATION KNOWN AS THE SPINE HAS COMMITED TREACHERY IN THE FACE OF THE FORSAKEN, SLAUGHTERED THEIR OWN KIN ALL OF THEIR OWN, SELFISH CAUSE They therefore ('have has been omitted here') been labelled 'kill on sight' - should you encounter any of the members of the former organisation of the Spine, Her Majesty Queen Sylvanas has granted you permission to kill or capture any member of the organisation without political repercussions. This law is in effect in all regions of Azeroth, the Outlands, the Nether and all elemental planes. PLEASE HELP THE HORDE: BRING THESE TRAITORS TO JUSTICE BEFORE MORE ACTS OF ATROCITY CAN BE COMMITTED YOUR SINCEREST THANKS FOR THE ATTENTION, AND GOOD HUNTING |

< a Rather large sign with a picture of a Goblin with his thumbs up, wearing a party hat can be seen right in the middle of the noticeboard >
The Hobgoblin ( formerly known as the Wyvern's tail ) is now open! all patrons old and new are encouraged to come and try out our hospitality! We serve great booze! and good food! What are ya waitin' for? |

The scared peon ran across the city barely able to keep his breath calm - by the time he managed to reach one of the inns, he couldn't even gasp for air without wheezing noise escape his throat.
" THE SHADOWS LIVE!" he yelled out after a few minutes of standing in the entrance and holding to his hurting from running gut. The crowd inside fell silent, even the usual bar brawl stopped for a moment, as they all stared at the peon. Until someone snorted loudly and crowd echoed with laughter, dismissing the poor scared orc, who stood still for a while longer and then ran off to try his luck elsewhere. Though the rumor did stick around with the drunken crowd in each inn and pub he visited, soon becoming a topic to joke about. (( A launched in rumor in the city. For what-the-hell is that -> check http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/4940476443?page=2 )) |
