Raid test requierd to raid ( for beginners )
I opened a ticket to blizz regarding an idea i had , they told me to go to forum so here it is .
The idea was that beginners who has just dinged 85 can be a real pain in the !@# for uss players , so i think that a test reguarding the raid your signing up for ,would be in place . maybe blizz could make a page in game about all you need to know about the raid , and there after you need to have some degree of test score to join the raid . People will know what they are doing , good players wont feel like they are boosting noobs no more . and less wipeing. I hope this is what blizzard wanted me to do :) And what do you guys think of my Idea ? really curious :) |
You're a pain in the !@# of beginner players with your arrogance.

Well then , all im saying is that people shall come more prepared for what they are signing up for. boosting people who doesnt even follow tactics is anoying and im sure that theres alot of people out the who would agree with me :)

I opened a ticket to blizz regarding an idea i had , they told me to go to forum so here it is . If you care so much who you play with, then be more picky who you group up with before you even start ;) |
Thats true , but there will always be someone who doesnt care abit about tactics , and im not a picky person . personally i dont think it should be nececary to be picky , but that is my opinion . But i do think the idea would solve alot of rageing in raids , poor noobs being kicked , im thinking just a quick test . topps 5 mins or something :P
So you're too lazy to spend a bit of time checking who you're grouping with, and you're too lazy (or elitist) to spend the time needed to teach those noobs who accidentally contaminated your zerg group, so you want Blizzard to develop a "test" that will limit people's ability to join groups. Hmm...
How about you spend those 5 minutes testing the candidates to your group? you know, ask them 2-3 questions about the planned content like "what is the key mechanic in Morchok encounter" or "when do you need to press the big button on Ultraxion"? Oh right, that would delay you on your way to zerging some poorly tuned content and getting rewarded for it. |

Im thinking mainly about the LF raid system . groups you make yourself you dont just invite randoms ofc , i just think there has been to many cases where we die because lack of informasion . and this can be avoided in the( LF raid ) system with just a short test. Once you hit 372 item lvl everyone can join , its not like you make a big scene in a LF raid group of 25 people :D

How about an item level check that checks for gems and enchants and doesn't count the ilvl from PvP gear in PvE content? Or a lockout to ensure the player has at least cleared the previous tier of content before attempting to begin the current?
If you are talking about LFR, then it is very unlikely there will be something implemented of this feather as it would defy its purpose.
Some bad players aren't intentionally bad, they just lack experience ;) |
So you want to bar people from participating in the content that is designed for them? I fail to see how this serves any purpose.
You haven't even killed a boss in a normal raid. You probably rate as a bit of a beginner yourself.

To be honest OP, there doesnt need to be a "new" check for people to raid, they just need to fix the existing check.
First of all, the ilvl check, should be for EQUIPED items only, modifed by gemming, enchanting and resilience, and if all future gear is going to have tank/dps/healer metadata in it (due to LFR) they may as well modify ilvl by the designation as well. Secondly, PvE content needs a bit of bite in it before normal/hard mode raids. These days you can level a new character from 1-85 without knowing a damn thing about your class. And if you are patient and incredibly lazy you dont even need to be present for a majority of it. Theres no point facerolling 85 (soon to be 90) levels and suddenly it stops working. I would include both points in my brand new campaign for WoW, which i call: The get blizzard to abandon the "no moron left behind policy" campaign. |
I see what you did there! :) |

See
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3313136870 and http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3161449509 I agree that a check based on performance would be more useful that a check based on gear. If you grind gear but don't know how to use it, then more experience in dungeons will be better than jumping straight into LFR and getting shouted at. Conversely, an experienced player with a new alt should be allowed in no matter what their gear level, as long as they have enough to meet the performance checks. Also, performance checks per role make it clear whether someone has the combination of gear and skill required to perform in that role at the required level, which stops people with DPS gear queuing as tanks in a way which would be much simpler* to implement than trying to create a truly comprehensive gearscore, that takes into account which gear belongs to which spec, adds up gems and enchantments, ignores PvP gear, and can't be gamed by any means at all. * "Simpler" isn't necessarily the same as "less work", as building solo instances to test player's performance will clearly be effort, but it will also be content that will be fun to complete |

It was just a suggestion , and your right dejathoris . im not an experienced pve player anymore , i`ve had a break . But even i can see that the system we got now isnt enough when it comes to LFRaid , thats my opinion . theres alot of ways to deal with it , just wanted to check what you guys thought about my idea , blizzard wanted me to make a thread. I want the requirements for LFraid to be a mix of gear and understanding of the raid your doing :P

Ramo, I think the idea is just well, BAD. Yes, beginners in a raid may slow it down if it there first time, but if you lack the character to teach players then don't sign up to go into pug raid groups.
Simple fact is that you were that noob once upon a time going into XXX instance with no clue what you were doing and someone had to tell you, or show you, or you kept quiet and died etc... Either way at some point or other we are ALL going to be going into instances fro first times and so a test to see if you know what to do in there is completely retarded. I kind of hate how this game has become. I remember back to the wow vanilla days when raiding just with people on own server, or even just five man instances where no-one cared at all about helping new people learn the content, nor minded a few wipes as the content was often harder than lot of the current stuff. Either way there is SOOO much more information players can use now to learn from videos, dungeon journal etc they can learn it from those, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't be happy to explain if need be, and as LFR you can ignore so many of the mechanics compared to doing it on normal it is not like it needs a long talk to explain them. |
While i can see the advantage of this it is an incredibly difficult thing to quantify, easy for dps but nigh impossible for tanks/healers considering the different mechanics available. For example, what would you measure a tanks worth with? Their max health (admitadly the worst way to measure it)? Their dodge/block/parry? Ilvl? With the first two varying to a significant degree between tanks and the third being so poorly implemented it would be nigh impossible. Also additional tank mechanics are vary and skew results to a huge degree. Quite frankly, these "trial" type ideas are unneccessary. Make it an actual challenge, hell a pre-requisite to pick up some raiding skills before you can get the ilvl for LFR (which may mean you need to take a harsh stance such as full pvp armor would count for nothing, yes i know some pvp slots are better than pve but its the only way to keep out the leechers) and magically the "ilvl" check becomes a "skill check" because in order to farm instances enough to get the damn gear you need to meet the damn ilvl check also teaches you how to play. |

And http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=5873/ready-for-raiding-ii Here's your official Blizzard certification. Why do you need more that that if the developers themselves certify that those who achieve these feats are ready for raiding? |
I opened a ticket to blizz regarding an idea i had , they told me to go to forum so here it is . There's a system that let's you do this? Would you care to tell us more please? I'm intrigued by this astounding knowledge. |
I recall there was an addon called gearscore oops my bad, I mean badscore back in WotLK but it made people lag so hard. OnT: And no we dont need this crap ... /notsigned |
