My friend download the trial version yesterday and later proceeded to upgrade into the full version. He did everything like he was guided to - yet when I try to trade him in-game, it still says Starter Editions cannot perform that action or something.
Is this normal? Does it usually take this long? |

Just to expand on this...
When you upgrade on-line from a starter edition, the level cap is removed immediately. However, the social functions such as chat, mail and trade don't have their restrictions lifted until the payment has been confirmed, and as Amarielle said this can take up to 72 hours. This is to help prevent exploitation by gold farmers using stolen credit cards to create accounts. Edit: Actually completed the final sentence! lol |

AFAIK everything should work straight away when you enter the CD key from a boxed version as the payment is already confirmed.
Just to make sure, you did definitely upgrade the starter account and not accidentally create a new WoW account? |
