Event Schedule: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3389262363?page=1#2
List of Attendees: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3389262363?page=1#4 Roster of Event Leaders: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3389262363?page=1#3 -- OOC-wise there will be events run regularly twice a week. They will be, generally speaking, on Saturdays and then also on one of the weekdays (Tuesday-Thursday, of the organiser's choice) - Mondays when High Society (http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2601271217) or the drinking nights are taking place will be avoided, as will Fridays (due to Thunder Bluff Storytelling http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/1934613461). So far we seem to be scheduling about a month in advance - I'll post the schedule so you know who's running an event on which date. Making the schedule public isn't intended so you can pick out people you know/like and only attend their events; you're hugely encouraged to go to any events which perk your fancy, regardless of who's running them. Making the schedule public is intended so that if you're planning to run a realm RP event and it clashes with one of the planned dates for some reason, you know who to contact - these events are intended to help the community stay together between big events (more on that later), help newbies get into RP more easily and things like that. Not to exclude others from running RP events. Incidentally, if you want to be added to the list of people who feel comfortable running events for the realm, who could be called up to run an RP event for this project - just let me know and I'll add you! The roster of event leaders is also intended for another purpose - a list of people you can call on to help you if you have an idea for a big event (the type that's a week or two long, with RP every night) but don't feel happy, confident or able to run it all on your lonesome. In fact, if you come up with an idea for such an event, discuss it with everyone in /RollingHillsOOC and propose some dates, we'll even suspend the schedule for that/those week/s; this applies whether you're on or off the roster. The OOC method of in-game communication for this project will be the existing OOC channel, /RollingHillsOOC. If you want to be involved as a participant, or as a leader - join this channel. It's where most of the discussion about upcoming events, as well as advertising/in-game reminders, will take place. There is an IC post as well, here http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3388952301 - it is be in the format of an IC noticeboard for event leaders to post, erm, posters about their events in order to give IC justification for people attending (i.e. "I saw the posters"). The other IC method of communication will be the in-game chat channel /HordeRP - everyone who's interested in these events should join that channel as well as the OOC one (/RollingHillsOOC). That'll be useful for events that require a quick IC kick-off - i.e. "This is happening RIGHT NOW and you all need to come help". What sort of events will be run? That entirely depends on the person running them. At the end of the day this is in place to lend structure and openness; the events themselves are entirely down to the person who's scheduled to do them. The only things that necessarily needs to go through me is something that would require the editing of the posts I'm making here. |

List of those interested in attending
People listed here will receive calendar invites for events related to this initiative as well as regular events such as Friday Storytelling and High Society. If your name is not on this list and you want it on, or if your name is on this list and you want it off, post here or contact me in-game. The actual leader of any given event will be given moderator status - it looks like the outline of a little crown next to their name - and they are who you should contact regarding the content or details of an event. This means they will be able to close sign-ups (by ticking the Lock Event box) when they feel comfortable with the number of attendants which have signed up. They will also be able to invite people in addition to those on this list. 01. Abrahamson 02. Aenor 03. Allayah 04. Aneiron 05. Anthraxius 06. Arlandria 07. Ashindrah 08. Baltore 09. Baneos 10. My preferences are below. I like the idea of knowing who the other event organisers are so I can maybe help in some way or perhaps merge ideas together. For instance should anyone like to bring some different elements together by including other organisers it might create something interesting. This is the kind of thinking that got The Captured Exarch events rolling in the first place. Qia wanted to be kidnapped and The Essence were doing nasty things at the time. Ideal.
I don't think any events I come out with would be very regular like the Storytelling but I hope I can get some interest in more plot oriented RP. I'd be hoping for just small things at a time, but connecting them in a way that's fluid and has potential to roll into something bigger. Just expect anything to do with Geis to be fairly suspect; i'm also in favour of some combat whether it be same-side RP or RP-PvP. Geis Saturdays Only Political, Espionage, Rogue. Minorly Blood Elf themed (Sunreavers etc). Quest-like 'contracts', hopefully with twists. 0 |

So yes, here's my event to kick off this regular events thing!
Horde Relief Militia (I'm not good at naming things) What is this and what'll happen?: Well! It'll be a day in which we invite absolutely anyone to come help the Horde out, whilst I've no strict schedule or list of things to do we'd basically be doing some rather laid back RP in which we'd RP deliver vital supplies to and throe settlements (Speaking of which anyone with a kodo mount to RP as the supply caravan would be appreciated!), fight off attacks from harpies and Burning Blade cultists etc etc. When is it?: Well I decided it will be this Thursday! Short notice I know but I was chose to get the ball rolling and as such was given little time to cobble something together, sorry! Anyway, Thursday 1st March, 19:00 server time, we meet at Grol'dom Farm, Northern Barrens! (If there's something else specifically happening on this day do tell me!) See http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3388952301 for the IC post! |

I have an event.
Ghoul Hunt What is this? With the death of the Lich King many ghouls have gone berserk and started commanding small groups of Scourge. We kill their leader and hopes that the group returns to where it came from. When, oh handsome thing? Probably Wednesday. But I can move it if asked. We march from Andorhal around 18:00 (can be changed) to return Herschel Brainmuncher's head to the Dark Lady's courier who will bring the head to Sylvanas. Or something. |
|
|
Updated the main posts with the extra info. I won't be in on Wednesday night but I should be there on Thursday; so lemme know how Wednesday goes, yeah?
|
|
|
Made up my mind on what to do for my bit, could you update it saying something like artefact hunt? Not sure if more info's needed, plus I still need to come up with the area and the like.
(And another bump for a helpful thread. let's get the ridiculous threads off of the front page) |

Awesome initiatives, really! I'd like to offer myself to help as an Event Leader too, having hosted a few successful events for our current guild.
Shajuju No preference expressed. Actionful events; Adventures; Pro-Horde; Not likely to involve PvP 0 |

Changed Ilthi's event time and added Shaj to the leader list!

My event was fun. Not much happened, more would've happened if there was more people. I plan to have another one in the future. This time I hope there will be atleast 1 more adventurer. We were 3 adventurers, me counted in.
|
|
Well we're only just starting these recurring regular event thingies so I assume it went pretty well all things considering!
Speaking of which mine is tomorrow, time and place is still the same, hope to see some shiny faces! (Yes this was a shameless nudge towards my event by riding on the back of Ilthillors event, Sorry Ilthillor!) |
|
Don't know how I missed all this, but nonetheless me and my guildmates would be surely interested to organize some events as we do have experience and ideas, well and some people too.
Grókk wants to do a caravan type of event that would be open for all, and Im thinking of something else. Well, to keep to the format: Khang any day except sunday Worg Riding, Hunting, Military 0 Grókk Unknown Trade Caravans, Military, Supplies for the Horde 0 Now my idea for the regular event: The Path of the Worg What is it? I want to see worg riders come together to appreciate, promote and celebrate the worg as a mount, pet and/or a companion. Requirement to join the event would be to have a worg mount of any sort. Optional requirement would be to wear a wolf mask of any sort, but since some classes might not be able to obtain such items, its just optional for those who can. Bringing any wolf or worg pets and companions is very much encouraged. People can come with other characters without worgs. The event would be every 4-6 weeks. What would it include? The gathering of worg riders would have several IC reasons but would essentially be a worg-lover club for characters who appreciate their worgs and wolves and like to meet with others having similar views on this animal. The activities would include: - presentation of worgs (each character could say a bit about their buddy) - preparations to ride, feeding, grooming (people can come with other characters to help them) - worg racing (could be several cathegories for different speed worgs) - massive worg run together at the end of each event (for example Thunderbluff-Orgrimmar run) When? Not decided yet. Will have to wait to see what dates are still available, etc. |

Khang, just so you know, I got the biggest smile on my face from your event description. And I'm not even a dog person!

@Deathriser
Hey, it sounds like it went well! I think it's important for everyone to remember that, quite often, small events are just as enjoyable as big ones. - @Khang Eeee! The next "scheduled" date is the week beginning Monday 2nd April, but if you want to run sooner than that then contact one of the people who hasn't come up with an event synopsis for their date yet and ask them if they could essentially swap with you. If they say no that's fine; just try the next one. - @everyone I'm trying to think of ways to remind people to turn up for these - I'm thinking something on the lines of mass calendar invites, and for limited-attendance events (ones where the event leader has specified they don't feel comfortable taking over a certain number of attendants) I cut off sign-ups after 10 positive responses or whatever the number is. Tentatives would be counted as reserves. Not exactly fair but... I can't really think of another way to remind people immediately? It's down to all of us to advertise each other's events in chat channels and the like, by the way. It will make me stupidly happy to see that going on! Speaking of which: don't forget Ruharg's event tonight! |
|
Ok thanks for the response Ill contact some people, but even if 2nd April is not bad. Provided that you mean this year, right? xD
Also how about creating an ooc chat for this to remind people? Im sure people will tend to forget, even might forget to check the forums, but they will be online so could see it in that custom chat, hmm? |

Yes, this is in seconds! Well... minutes! Well... an hour, roughly... BE THERE. Also I like Khangs worg event idea thingie, can't wait for that. |
