AoE Heals and the Destruction of Diversity

The problem with DS primarily comes from the raid finder and and the simple fact that having 25 random (potentially clueless) players thrust into the same team means it HAS to be simple.
This makes the majority of the content a complete joke when you attempt it with any co-ordination at all. As a climax to Cataclysm I understand all of these rants people are having but you seem to forget that until its been tried and tested by the masses over a period of months its probably very hard to tell where things will end up... The direction Cataclysm has gone means Dragon Sould is pretty much tailor made to AOE healing (for simplicitys sake) and to make the problem worse they pretty much redesigned Holy Radiance to suit Dragon Soul perfectly at the same time. I like the new HR but I dont want to use it on every boss. If you look across everything that has been implemented in cataclysm as a whole there is a fair bit of diversity. IMO its fair to say aoe heals alone will not get you through every raid encounter on heroic mode. They will help a great deal at times obviously but you will not be using them as exclusively as in DS. I will agree with you on the fact that with DS there is just too much of it in the same instance but not across the whole of cataclysm. And by the way.... Having Holy Radiance is nice but having it in a raid that it was specifically designed for just isnt worth the grief you get from other healers. On the other hand we would have been pathetic without a revamp |
