Trying to tame rare pets..

Simple way to make taming rare pets easier for hunters.
If you start taming a rare animal, it should be untargetable by everyone else. I've spent about 15 hours camping Arcturis and finally, it spawned! I quickly jumped off my mount, placed my trap and start taming it, then a hunter jumped down, at the last second he used distracting shot and took all my aggro and he started taming the pet, this happened two or three times, when finally he says off or I'll kill it. Obviously I refused because I'd been there for so long, and continued taming it, and then at last second because he couldn't have it, he killed the damn thing. Seriously! WHY?!? Surely this shouldn't be allowed? Anyways my idea; Once someone starts taming an animal, no one else can target it, which will allow the hunter to tame it without some moron killing it first. |

Similar thing happened to me, however just as I was about to hop down and tame him, a genius Draenei Male Paladin (Level 74) in cloth and a level 50 white item Axe came down and killed it.
I'd of freaked out in your position as well, I agree that we should be able to 'tap' it, just like skinning/herbing/mining, I think. |

Yes, this is something that should be done. Taming the molten front rares was a nightmare, really. If Blizzard wants to prevent bad behaviour, they should at least give us this much.

I would absolutely support this, and I am glad that you suggested it. The only people who would complain are those who just want to grief other players. How is killing a rare spawn mid-tame fair PvP game, or killing a pet because someone beat you to it a reasonable thing to do? It just creates bad feeling, and there is enough of that around already.

I totally agree with it.
When a person is mid-taming let him be!! BUT if not the rare is fair game to all as some of them counts towards achievement. |

If one is in the process of taming, the mob Should be locked to you, making it impossible for someone else in the same faction to kill it while you're casting the tame.
So, the only way to steal or kill your targeted pet would be, either by taping it after a failed attempt of yours (in case the mob interrupts you) or, for the opposite faction, just by attacking you. |

most rare pets dont help in any possible way toward any archiev, make rare pets visable to hunters only, yes hunters only, they just drop a !@#$ty tear of the fallen, which is around 20g....
Rare PETS are made for hunters, not for the lv 85 scrubs killing it, while knowing its just a 20g drop...before targeting a rare pet, think about it, how would you like it if u were a hunter and someone left it there for you, or actually whispered you? and btw, if someone ever tried to disatract shot me while i almost got a new pet, i'd kill the pet instantly. if i cant have the pet i farmed for, then the player who didnt wont get it either |

This /\ I had someone blast the snot out of Skarr on my hunter not long after molten front opened just to rip aggro and start taming, then he had the nerve to ask me why I hit it with two kill shots to finish it off (glyph ftw) Kinda got a measure of revenge though, I spotted the same hunter fail twice on the pet so i sauntered in and tamed it on him :D |
