Alliance PVP @ weekend - Shocking
|
|
I recently transfered to this realm and I checked out populations, pvp & raiding activity etc to the best of my ability and chose alliance as my faction.
I've enjoyed my time here so far, so much pvp activity but I was shocked by what I saw at the weekend. I'm talking about when the horde attacked stormwind and held up in the training area and pvp vendors before killing the king. I dont know if the horde are just extremely skilled players or if the alliance are a bit of a wet fish but a few horde held off against many alliance and I mean loads, at a peak time they also managed to kill the king even though there were relentless waves of alliance players. At the same time this was going on a large amount of players took the opportunity to go kill garrosh while the horde were busy in stormwind, and failed, badly, never stood a chance, I dont think his health was lower thank 102million compared to its normal 103mill. I remember the night I first transfered here, it was around 3:30 a.m and we went to kill garrosh but failed, amazing battle, good effort but failed, yet the horde with a lower population hold off loads of alliance and kill the king and prevent us from killing their leader at the same time? I am shocked at the alliance but amazed at the horde, completely changed my impression of them being the underdogs when I came to this realm. I LOVE this realm. |

Above is the main forum post for this topic As the leader of the Horde raid that assaulted Stormwind, and having lead many similar assaults on Stormwind I have to say this was, to date, by far the most successful so I wouldn't say the success of the event is down to a great level of skill on the Horde side just tenacity and a hunger to cause chaos! No other group has listened as well, held their ground and pushed as well when I told them too, I don't know if its because there were close to 20 players from my guild, or if the fact we had 9 healers throughout was a major factor, but it was a credit to the raid group as a whole, even if some people disagree with the method we chose to deploy. When we killed Varian, a second raid group in trade had formed of between 20 - 30 people (having heard of how well it was going for us) and turned up to push for Varian, we coordinated together it so Group 2 held the waves of Alliance whilst group 1 who had been in Stormwind for 3 hours prior went for the kill. It was a fun event and by far the most successful I have hosted so far, a lot of credit goes out to the entire raid group and everyone who attended for following orders so well and group 2 for coming into support us kill Varian. Also a lot of thanks to the Alliance players for taking part and congrats to those that I saw get the City Defender achievement. As I mentioned in the previous forum post, I look forward to an Alliance counter and leading the defense raid if I'm around, this wont be the last time we push Stormwind either and I have had a lot of positive response from Horde players encouraging me to get another one going asap. But we'll see Shin'do Sin'dorei! |

Raiding Garrosh in Valley of Strength vs Raiding Varian in Stormwind Keep.
Yeah, go figure it out. When Alliance gather enough players to down Garrosh, the server will crash and they'll be raped by guards while waiting to get back into the game. First Blizzard make Garrosh a perfect survival spot and then they kill him off in MoP, what's going on. |

Raiding Garrosh in Valley of Strength vs Raiding Varian in Stormwind Keep. I totally agree, the positioning of Grommash hold in Orgrimmar really favours a Horde defensive as thats pretty much where everyone hangs out, still makes a change from how ridiculously easy it was for the Alliance to get to Thrall in the past, and entirely unopposed at that (apart from a few guards with low HP that couldnt dismount) prior to Cata we didnt know Alliance were raiding the Warchief until the raid was right on top of him - Swings and roundabouts I suppose, from one extreme to the other. Garrosh gets killed off in MoP because he commits severe war crimes, and apparently becomes corrupted, perhaps drinking the Blood of a Pit Lord like his father before him, or maybe its from the steel used to reinforce Orgrimmar which is supposedly the blood of an old God, maybe its an Old God's whispers that have driven him insane. Only time will tell |

Sounds like Garrosh alright, although I actually prefer his character over Thrall, but the location they gave him is just silly. I remember defending Thrall a lot of times by creating and joining raids, 'twas good fun. There hasn't really been any need of defending Garrosh. |

Hey guys gz for the raid in Sw but Never i was there like for 1 min (i was doing arenas :P) and i didnt saw any actual pvpers trying to stop them only some random guys that were arguing about whos defence raid is better. Also i dont think they would have last much if Ally pvp guilds were there , no ofence i heard it was a nice raid but against actual pvpers and those stupid amount of guards it wouldnt last long:P.
@Veryk there are a few times that allies has killed garrosh i havent been there but the guys that did it are yelling their achies to show the date and stuff like that i think some guys killed garosh about 1 week ago from the guild the Surveors or smthing. |
Thats why we moved between points and held specific locations, makes it a lot easier for us to defend specific spots as running around in the open would be suicide. |
