World of Warcraft®

I´ve heard an endless stream of people saying that WoW will be buried by GW 2, I personally do not like to believe that, while the game will be mind blowing but WoW just has this great feeling that I don´t want to forget for the sake of some new trash.
I think MoP will actually save the game, as ridiculous as it sounds, all the cool new stuff the expansion is bringing is amazing but I´m still worried that Guild Wars might win this "battle".
But what do you think? Is WoW going to survive? Or is it doomed?

i think guild wars 2 will just fall over like all the other recent mmo's like RIFT which was a WoW clone with only added world events which..eventually turn boring

ToR is just WoW in space,i mean people praise it for being star wars while i think its pure crap because...it's from EA and bioware and we all know that EA is evil and it has tainted bioware with reaper technology....*cries over mass effect 3*

now guild wars 2 all i could get was this: better graphics,new epic lore,much better gameplay and i disagree with it

it has simular graphics like RIFT has
lore i don't really care for,some lore fanboys will most likely clarify for it
gameplay...meh..don't care for it

now i find WoW unique is because...being very popular and yet pretty old and with MoP coming around i feel it will be even more awesome as it is now,i mean come on who doesn't wanna play a panda? oh and ironic bit about it: people who got angry about it because of pandas now are angry about not getting the beta invite,now isn't that dumb of them? *i hate this expansion i quit!* is now *i hate this beta invite idea i quit!* and eventually it will be *i love this expansion i will play it!*

so basiacly i think GW2 is lame,i mean totalbiscuit makes videos about it but i just don't wanna watch them...because it has the same WoW pattern,you make race,class,customise it,go out,do quests,get gear,and all that

i just preffer WoW because i find it great as it is and ofcourse most importantly...TROLLS FOR 'DAH JAMAICAN ACCENT! 'OW 'YA DOIN' MON!?

so, a new game, that you havent found out anything about, will be worse than the game you currently play, because it will be doing the same things.

such an astonishing lack of logic that i dont even know where to start.

oh, and i would advise you to do some reading. GW2 is trying to do quite a few things differently. whether they succeed or not is the big question, but they certainly arent just trying to produce a WoW clone.

Only playing Wow right now so I can have something to do meanwhile waiting for guild wars 2.

Its going to be epic

I was very hyped about GW 2 for a long time, i have been actually following its development for quite a long time.
Recently when they removed some of the NDA and started to show allot of beta footage,my hype has decreased considerably, even more when they announced you will be able to buy "gems" in the microtransaction store,that can be used to purchase gear in the game.

It does look like a good game, and no doubt it has allot of strong features,my hype went down,but i will try it. And also it has no chanse to "kill wow" you cant just take 10 mil people away.

okay...i watched a little bit of it and i wasn't really impressed,like i watched RIFT videos or ToR videos from OMFGcata and i was *meh* about them,ofcourse i tried RIFT but quitted it shortly after about..2 months,and besides what SHOULD i read? only things i noticed is spam button to hit or fight to survive,i don't see a big deal with that

that reminds me: anyone remembers the age of conan MMO? yes it had a *spam attack button* that went in 3 different ways,infact it was also still quite entertaining...until WoW buried it..infact my parents still have the box somewhere...

i did watch a little and it looks like cr@p don't get it why ppl say it will be the death of wow

I will never NEVER quit wow for another game, not even GW2

you know even i wonder...i hope WoW will still stay at the top i mean..it's a really good MMO even if it is runned by loney people that raided troll villages and take our...ahem...special plants of visions (a.k.a marihuana) sooo...yeh...death to activision and crazy blizzard folks...plus also death to EA,bioware,any other evil game company

for the same reason ppl shouldnt judge MoP you should not judge GW2, its not out yet.

time will tell.

ps: it will guaranteed be much more popular than swtor

GW2 won't kill WoW. But it will be the first "next gen" MMO and hopefully other companies will adopt the new game mechanics too.
I'm sure, that GW2 will survive longer, than Rift, SWTOR or even FF14 :)

Dont get me wrong mate,i am not trying to bash GW 2 and cheer or WoW, not by a longshot. I never bought something from blizzstore and i dont intend to do so in the future either. Theres no doubt blizz might like a store that sells stuff for gear,but they cant put it in because they would have to ditch out the monthly fee,and thats a big NO for them i guess.

However you have to agree that theres a diference between a BoE pet that u can sell for gold and buy some epic BoE gear from trashmobs and the GEM sistem in GW 2 that lets you buy the best gear in the game,yes gear with stats,the cosmetic stuff is sold separatly.

ill try guild wars 2 but ill never trust ncsoft , blizzard may screw with concept and gameplay sometimes but ncsoft screws with everything

GW2 PVP looks good and refreshing just have to wait and see.

I was interested until I read about the gems 4 cash system which can then be sold for ingame gold, then switched off. Gold farming + hacked accounts extreme means not interested much anymore.

I am aware of the Guardian Cub. A WoW subscription may actually put a gold farmer off whereas GW2 is open season due to the F2P mechanic once the game is purchased.

WoW is split into two playerbases; PvPers and PvErs.I don't know any PvPer who's satisfied with Cataclysm, which is understandable because Blizzard really have disregarded PvP enitrely this expansion. PvErs on the other hand have had it quite good.

GW2 is appealing to PvPers because it promises actual balanced pvp as well as enjoyable gameplay, and judging by what we've seen from it this far, it does indeed look that way. I imagine a huge lot of PvPers starting with GW2 instead.

WoW killer? No. I don't see WoW dying for at least a couple of years. But at least we know for sure which part of the playerbase that'll quit.

Just to be clear, no.
With gems you can't buy the best gear in-game (with stats!).
With gems you can buy cosmetic stuff from the shop, and XP boosts and stuff like that.
GW2 is not a P2W game.
What you can do is - sell gems for in-game gold that then you can use to purchase stuff from the market place (the AH).
Gems are exactly the same as WoW's pet.
So no, no "best gear with stats".

if blizzard are not only words (again) spells in mop will have different effect on players and different on mobs which will fix pvp a lot hopefully.

but yes pvp was thrown off the cliff in cata especially low lvl pvp its completely ridiculus players die like critters
