Elemental PvP Help
|
Im loving doing BGs on Elemental Shaman, its fun, refreshing and entertaining, i dont do arena since ive never got the appeal and from what ive tried to much running around posts and stuff, that i find its often about comp more than anything else.
Now my guild are going to be starting rBGs soon, just for fun but see how we get on, and i want to enter in on my Elemental Shaman, so i was wondering if anyone could help me out on a rotation for it, since ive found guides pertaining to raids and what not but nothing regarding a rotation for BGs. |

I'm a complete noob at this and haven't done any rbg on my shaman yet (my priest is my main and so much better geared)
but so far, when I step aside from being resto, I head for: Lightning shield up, Flametongue weapon up totems down: Stoneclaw first almost always, followed by a set - either SoE, Flametonue, Mana spring and WoA (buff set) OR Stoneskin, searing/magma, healing, WoA (rogue nearby set). If I'm in a group with mostly melee, I may change out the wrath of air for the windfury, but not unless I really think they'll hit for more than me. then: Flameshock on first target. unleash elements, lavaburst, chain lightning (unless I have to run, in which case either SWG and CL OR Run with lighting bolt), Earth shock when there are 5+ stacks of Lighting Shield. Use Elemental Mastery when there are melee about to smash my head (then also earth bind and frost shock and ghost wolf away) I sometimes change weapon imbue for Frostbrand to follow up a frost shock if I really need to slow something so others can kill it (or just to get away better). Keep an eye on totems and refresh as necessary. I pretty much drop StoneClaw on cooldown - glyphed, the shield is well worth it. Grounding totem when there are casters (or DKs), use WindShear and hex as often as you can on casters, particularly healers. Hope there's a good healer who likes you - if you get some free casting time and can use lavalash on CD and fill in with Chain Lightning, you'll do *huge* amounts of damage. ofc, that makes no difference if you're in a PUG group of idiots and Horde are getting their act together - as they seem to be so much more these days, particularly in the big PVE-style battlegrounds... good luck S |

Stoneclaw the moment you expect to get heavy damage, grounding for when you expect to get cc'ed/heavydamage/grippped/whatever.
Totem setup that I prefer: Searing/HealingStream/Stoneskin/WrathofAir For burst: Flameshock on target as priority, together with 8/9 stacks of fulmination > Unleash Elements > Lavaburst > Chainlightning > Earthshock. The last 3 should hit around the same timespan. Thunderstorm on stuns, earthbind for space. Hex for breathingroom to setup (healing or setup up burst with purge and shizzle, while waiting for cd's). Elemental Mastery after someone uses up their defensive cd's, so you can get a guaranteed kill. Unleash Frostbrand on frostshock if you want to kite and wait out your earthbind/want to slow EFC, healers or whatever down. Earthbind+Frostshocks while sitting in ghostwolf to kite, spirit walkers grace together with healing surge/greaterhealingwaves while hugging a wall, aslong as you LoS so you can get some heals up. Rockbiter weapon if you see heavy unavoidable damage incoming, use your trinket wisely. Interrupt cc's or attacks that require to be on the target before the enemy can nuke you (Frostbolt, Vamperic Touch, Unstable affliction, Fear, Polymorph, Big Heals, Penance etc.) Try to ground attacks that have a cd (Hex, Haunt, Deep freeze, Death Grip etc.) Chain Lightning on +2 targets, Lightning bolt on 1, watch your mana also. Cleanse Spirit on Hex'es on teammates...Just so much that you need to learn, I won't give you a complete list but Elemental PvP requires some experience and knowledge about other classes. |

Brilliant - learning all the time.

Brilliant - learning all the time.Thunderstorm on stuns, earthbind for space. Hex for breathingroom to setup (healing or setup up burst with purge and shizzle, while waiting for cd's). Reapplying flame shock or if already present, frostshock for some distance (if you haven't purged already). After this you can pretty much nuke the target after. In arena I recommend using hex on the target that can dispel hex (Non shapeshifted druids, mages, shamans) so it won't be insta dispelled. |

You'll discover you can do amazing damage, but drop like a stone if you're not good at kiting and getting peeled.
Our greatest force is to stand behind among the healers and just pumpt out Chain Lightning/Lava Burst/Fulmation. When the other teams start moving towards you to focus you, you run away so you kite them away from their healers. That way they should either die or retreat. Get ready to GW away if/when you get gripped into the middle of the battle. If you stay there, you die :) |

If you are on EoTS or AB, make sure you use Thundershock for it's prime purpose ;)

I am not a pikachu, so I prefer to use Thunderstorm. |
