I looked out from the elaborately opulent carriage that my Lady had been gracious enough to allow my ferrying within, and saw that we were heading fast upon a series of golden gates set in stone, ostentatiously arched, and crowned with glorious spikes of steadily growing heights. But what astounded me completely lay beyond these glorious gates; a pair of wooden doors, their massive, pointed peaks towering over me even from afar, polished sharply so that there was a deep iridescent sheen that could be discerned easily from even here. The doors were imbedded in a great marble wall, adorned with great spiralling columns of marble, lavishly coercing the carriage towards the doors which they framed. Imposingly jutting from the ground in a curiously elegant manner was the rest of the Elluinae Estate, nestled forcefully within the mountains. Its bloated form seemed to battle with the natural rock formations, protecting themselves from the rock’s permanent presence; or, as I so thought, pushing aggressively in a grimly determined set of expansionism, barging its widely angular bulk to create another foot to add to the already magnificently large estate.

So enraptured was I in my private appraisal of this luxurious sight, I had not noticed that we had already drove past the first of the three palatial gates guarding access to the neatly trimmed guardians until I heard it crashing behind me. In a short moment we had passed the second gate. I turned to look behind me and saw the barricades clanging shut behind me one after another, by power of some unseen hands, magically sealing each gate with a tinkling shimmer of sound that cascaded through the verdant pastures surrounding the estate.

A shiver of anticipation found its way crawling remarkably from my toes, winding its way through my entire body, and leaving a feeling of euphoria, as the true enormity of what lay ahead impacted itself upon my being. I heard the gold adorned Hawkstriders pull themselves to a graceful stop, their talons mining idly into the soft floor. There was a moment of silence, and the angling of my carriage was just so that I was unable to see towards the front of the Estate, merely to the grand gates that had sealed me. With a sudden snap, however, the door was pulled open, and a frenzied inpouring of light flushed its way into the carriage. A smartly dressed man, wearing a neatly cut suit of gold, trimmed with black fabric, held the door. His head was angled upwards in what I could only describe at the time as contrived nobility, and he ushered me outwards with a wave of his gloved palm.

I brought myself from the carriage eagerly, a sudden hysteria coming across me in my haste to see the Lady who had paid so handsomely for my scribing services. To my dismay, she was not outside. I was instead lead by the servant to the great wooden door I had regarded so wondrously earlier. With a practised flick of his wrist, a soft twinkling of arcane ensured the doors opened without a sound, their imposing forms pulling aside in a lavishly inviting hug.

I followed the servant through these frames, and eyed the opulent halls to which I was subjected. My senses were at once overwhelmed by a sudden onslaught of information, that, even now, I find myself having to sift through slowly. The air was heavily perfumed, and it induced almost instantly upon me a state of sleepy lassitude. Adorning the length of the golden papered hall were plants that blossomed in a, I now know, perpetual state of full bloom, their flowers bursting in vivid life. A tangled web of sounds fluttered across my skin, arousing a tingling sensation in the pit of my stomach. The servant led me towards it.

Again, the servant forced open another set of dark red doors, revealing a long sitting room. Couches decorated in brilliantly bright gildings surrounded a large, dark green fel crystal that hovered lazily. I approached nervously, quite unsure of where to place myself. I spied a large ornament that bobbed alarmingly every so often. It was adorned in jewels, and erupted in slight volleys of arcane explosions at every movement. No sooner had I wondered to what purpose the ornament held, when it turned grandly, and the refined face of a noble woman greeted me. She stood, one hand slightly aloft, as if posing for an invisible portrait. Her hairpiece was large and magnificent, towering above all else in the room. Her dress was wide, panniered, and covered in a thousand twinkling jewels. After a brief, dramatic and exquisitely timed pause, she spoke. "My dear gentleman, you are looking ravishing," Her voice was crisp, polished, rehearsed. "I have always had wont of such services as those that you can provide. House Elluinae is on even more of a reform, you know! We are in search of Knights, Rangers, Magi, Artisans of every craft, but most of all - aristocrats that have the sense and decency to be refined in countenance and exciting in clothing and personality. Do you happen to know anyone?"

OOC:

OH GOD, NOT ANOTHER HOUSE GUILD!

Well, I can safely say Elluinae is another house guild. But, we aim to do it in a way that will not just be enjoyable for pseudo-nobles. We aim to provide story development to each and every character in the house from humble servantry to opulent nobles. Below, I will describe the ranks.

Her Ladyship

Lady Adanae El'ind of Elluinae, influential socialite, (in)famous noblewoman. Her large wigs, extended panniers, unparalleled opulence and continued patronage of the arts has earned her both an extremely positive reputation amongst most nobles, but also one of either hope or hate amongst the lower castes.

The Entourage

A collection of Thalassian nobility that share the same passion for frivolous pursuits as Lady Elluinae, this group of esteemed Elves live on the very top of the upper crust, often with a casual disregard and perhaps ignorant understanding of the lives they deem below them. Welcomes nobles as well as pompous members of the Magestirium.

The Artisans

The embodiment of Lady Adanae's patronage. Whether you be an illusionist, a cook, a writer, a poet, a neophyte, a tailor, an alchemist, Lady Elluinae is generous to take you under her wing and fund your education in exchange for service to the house. Cooks will be tasked with making delicious meals, poets tasked with writing about the beauty and wit of the Lady, tailors will be tasked with making beautiful dresses for the nobles. There is room to play your chosen profession within the guild at length. Master Artisans will often have their own shop or ship, for example, and will themselves be able to have other Artisans under their wing as employees or apprentices.

The Knighthood

House Elluinae's Knightly servitors have a rich history. The original Knights of Elluinae were swordsmen from the Great Crossing, but over the ages they developed to include Paladins of the Holy Light. Now, they aim to be a finely trained and chivalric cavalry unite consisting of a mixture of traditional swordsmen and knights, paladins, and Blood Knights. They serve House Elluinae proudly and wear her crest when going into battle. Are required to wear red, gold or crimson armour. Susceptible to change when discussed in game.

The Rangers

Ranger under the care of House Elluinae enjoy access to the stables as Beastmasters as well as opportunities to hunt on the grand Estate. They serve in battle alongside the Knighthood as auxiliaries as well as being the heralds of the old ways of the Sin'dorei. Are generally required to wear green, yellow, or other forest colours. Are often exempt from baring the red and gold house colours as these would -clash- with their clothing! How dreadful.

The Servantry

From butlers to lowly scullery maids, the servantry will often enjoy some pronounced benefits including free access to serve the rich and influential to their heart's content, as well as the one unspoken benefit; eavesdropping! Yes, if you are a servant, you may listen in on whatever you want as long as you stay discreet. Servants are required to wear a red robe and the house colours when on duty.

Didn't your last guild fail because you were offline yourself?

Best of luck, anyways.

Hi.

I kind of like you.It has nothing to do with Argents and the whole "I scratch your back, you scratch mine" idea some people seem to have gotten.

I understand you have a sailor.

I too am a sailor.

More than one sailor, and you have a 'crew'.

I would be interested in forming a 'crew'.

Do let me know.
