The boy darted through the ramble and rabble of the grimy street, his short blonde curls bouncing with each sure footed leap across the cobbles, ducking and weaving through the working mess of the market district.
Garbed in loose and worn linen, the boy slid past a great lumbering tradesman, ignoring the spat profanities as he almost knocks the haughty figure to the ground in his dash. The boy mumbles his apology, his features suddenly paling in distress as he slaps the area at his middle, searching for the parchment stored in his pocket. The lad’s eyes desperately dance around the busy market scene, sooty features glowing with elation as he spots his boon. The boy darts down, grasping the letter that he dropped in the scrabble, turning to race away once more. He bounds across the cobbles, past the old town, the stench of piss and ale thick in the air, not gagging or retching however. Finally he halts before the drawbridge, his heart thundering in his chest as he eyes fleetingly a few menacing steel figures, their blue details and golden lions upon their chests the main focus of his gaze in that moment. “Please sir, ah’ got a message for th’Countess!” He mumbles in a half nervous squeak. The first of the two soldiers merely looks at him, turning then to his comrade for a split second before he simply nods. “Go on then.” He grumbles, moving aside for the lad. The lad pounds his way up the great marble steps, gaze fixed upon the mighty ornate statue of the King at the head of the beautiful fountain. Upon reaching the final step, panting somewhat, the lad finally spots his target, beaming in self-content at his success. Ignoring his aching lungs, the blisters forming at the rims of his sandals, he darts forwards once more and finds himself before the black haired woman. The low born lad looks up at the Countess, garbed in a magnificent robe of red and gold, flanked by two more heavily armed guards. The Countess slowly turns, looking down at the boy expectantly. The boy scrabbles swiftly, eyes still for the guards at the Countess’ back, clearly somewhat intimidated. His nerves show, he nearly drops the letter a second time, yet still manages to find it in the Countess’ outstretched hands. One of the guards steps forward, conjuring a few copper coins from a pouch at his hip and ushering the lad away with a few soft murmurs of thanks. The Countess quickly opens the letter, and reads its contents. A smile flashes across her face for a brief moment, before she turns around. “It is as I expected. Come, we shall inform the others.” She states in a clear and commanding tone, and starts for the main office.The guards simply bowed their heads with a creak of his grinding plates, following their liege into the Keep at a swift walking pace. They strode into the office, the first room on the left upon entering his majesties sanctum, the room suddenly falling to silence as they do, upper class nobles and steel clad Knights alike turning to gaze upon the Countess, all breath gone from the room for a long drawn out movement. “Friends, it is as we expected. I hereby announce that the right honourable, Duke Sepilious Lucifur Ruthseer has been named High Consul of his Majesties court. May the Light bless and guide his reign.” She states, loudly so all can hear. Her announcement is met with the crackle of polite applause, a sentiment greatly appreciated by the aging Duke, no doubt. The Duke, dressed in a magnificent robe of white, rises to his feet, and raises a hand for silence. Then, a smile upon his face, he made a short speech. “Each moment in history is a fleeting time, precious and unique. But some stand out as moments of beginning, in which courses are set that shape decades or centuries. This can be such a moment. I have worked in the Court for many years now. Over my career, I have seen the highs and the lows of the administration of the Kingdom of Stormwind. I have seen the Horde rush upon our fair city, I have witnessed the return of valiant heroes, who destroyed the many nefarious threats to our world. We have all felt the reverberations of the War against the Lich King, and even now repair the damage wrought by the destroyer. But even with all of this destruction, we must remember the greatest title that history can bestow – peace bringer. That is the goal we aim for – peace across Azeroth. But I am not naive to the threats we face. Even now, in the North, the Horde amass, ready to sweep down across the Highlands. To gain our goal of peace, we must fight. The Horde will never rest until we are destroyed, and the world consumed by rage. Their Warcheif, this ‘Hellscream’, will bring ruin upon us all. We must challenge him, we must make war upon him, and we must be victorious in that endeavour. For only when the war against the Horde is won, can there be peace across Azeroth. The forces of the Alliance mobilise now to fight the Horde in Arathi. But this is not the last battle we will fight. This is but one of the first and I vow that we shall see victory in this war. I vow that we will see peace in our lifetimes. May the Light bless our endeavour, and guide us to triumph. Long live the King!” The chamber erupted into applause, and the Duke bowed, before preparing to leave. The duties of office summoned him. |

What do we do? ;
The Court provides a political environment for all its nobles. Participating, and expressing your views in a debate is a -Must-!. Within the Court there are two committees, each committee has its own designated area of specialization. Its up to the individual noble to choose which they suit best. Each committee has a Chair-person, elected by the general body of nobles. Why do we do it? ; From a personal point, I've been a member of The Royal Court going on 2-3 years. I have taken my breaks, aren't we all permitted to do so? :). I enjoy the role-play generated within the Court, and around it. I have an interest in debates, thus my love for the Court! From an officer point of view, the Court is the only (Correct me if I am wrong) guild which is highly involved in the areas of debating and politics, allowing its body of members to be exposed to heated topics, with regards to server lore. Where are you based.. Why?! ; The Court is based in the Keep. It is the most fitting location for nobles to meet and discuss topics which would have an impact on the Kingdom of Stormwind. (Why would nobles mingle & debate politics in a Cathedral?) The Court has always been situated within the keep so its also become a sort of tradition to maintain it, alike the rank of High Consul. Politics.. Whats this about the First Crown Division?! ; The Court does have an extension of a military division. This military division is in place to assist if an emergency arises. The military of the Court is also used for personal protection of the nobles. Unfortunately you cannot have a ''Royal Guard'' NPC put follow on the individual noble, thus, the Division! Another flippin' guild, whats so special?! ; Well, if you have no interest in politics, perhaps the small tight-knit military wing would suit your style. If you have no interest in military, but wish to pursue a career in politics.. the Court can help. The Court has history behind it, its not just another 3 week long guild. The Court has been around for many years, Lead at first by Didonus, now by me. I lead it now because I am committed to the idea of providing a strong base for political role-play within, and outside Stormwind. |

Just to clear anyone thinking this is the same one as before.

Yes again, whats a server without such a prominent organisation! Just to clear anyone thinking this is the same one as before. IC'ly Sepilious was leading TRC, glitches on an OOC level with accounts being bound to guild pages so on limited my access to that page, thus there is a new one bound to my own. Thanks very much Alu, and I hope it goes well too! |
