Youre a Lock. You wont win against certain classes.. Infact you can pretty much forget any healer or melee as a rule. Anyone that tells you differently are people you shouldnt listen to.

It's a hard fight. Rouges rule Warlocks there's no doubt about that. If's pretty hard to win as they are masters of burst damage and can drain some 60%+ health from you instantly, but it's possible.
If you're against a rouge who is not too talented at his/her class and you are a demo (this is the class I play, but afflic and destro are probably similar) you do have some chance. However, if the rouge is a master at their class, you'll just have luck on your side (unless you are also a supreme master of your class!) ;) Keep jumping, running, etc... to make it a little harder for them to sap you. You WILL be sapped and there's not much you can do about that. But, once you are sapped wait to see what the rouge does. If he/she is just playing with you you'll have to sit there and do nothing but wait (as it's a waste to trinket out of it). But, if the rouge does decide to start their killer damage on you, you have two options. 1) Use your felguard to stun them as soon as they start on you, then wait to be released from the sap (so you can save that get out of free card), hit meta, death coil, fear, then dot. 2) You trinket out of the sap ONCE you see the rouge out of stealth, then meta ASAP and deathcoil, dot, then fear. Either way once you are out, you need to maintain dots above all else on the rouge and run away or (keep your distance), or if they are running (as they have no cooldowns left to pop), follow them with felflames and dots but don't get too close. Also, use portals and your soulburn to speed you up and escape or even retreat! No need to kill them, unless you are in an arena ;) |

^ This guy...
This guy is one of those few locks that play demo and does not help the team at all... |

^ This guy... /agree, even though i like playing demo your forgeting vanish and magic immunity.. if they do that after you meta, they can stay away for 30 sec and then giggle at your instant death because you lack any other defense mechanisms... Also: "It's a hard fight. Rouges rule Warlocks there's no doubt about that." Damn i keep being beaten my my red and fluffy cheecks :) *shakes fist at beauty products! |

In general, melee classes tend to be tough for us locks. If you're caught unprepared, things simply get too nasty to handle and you'll likely die; there's no way around that.
The approach I take is, simply, being able to survive through their initial burst. I recommend using Demon Armor+Soul Link; and always having a Healthstone in your bags, and a Demonic Circle in an advantageous position, using Soulburn on either if the situation requires it. Of course, it'll be impossible to get a Fear cast off, so you'll have to use Death Coil first to shake them off prior to Fearing; and then do your best to regain distance. I can't guarantee that you'll defeat them this way, but at least you'll manage to put up a fight. |

Destro is fine vs melee in random bgs and duels after some practise.
For 2s and 3s go affliction and fiind a shamy |

TBC rogues destroyed locks but locks could kill other melee types.
Wrath locks could kill rogues, with the help of that friendly net courtesy of tailoring, but struggled against some of the other classes :) Cata, oh deary me, the devs nuetered locks. What i found funny was rogues kept their stun plus burst damage whilst fear was all but removed because it was not fair to kill players whilst they could not fight back ???? Recently returned to the game after a short break and tried my old lock, not funny doing damage to see a healer remove my dots inspite of UA being on my targets, spell doesnt bother healers at all. |

Do not know, took a short break from the game and never played arena on my lock, out in the world though a rogue does not expect to suddenly be netted after they trinketed out of that fear you hit them with hehe.

Type /spit on the rogue and take your death like a man

Kite like a mofo and pray hes either bad or playing one-handed.
If your near a small cliff or overhang you can jump off it and port back up when he follows you. |

The best strat vs ferals i use is:
Immidetly trinket their opener so they wont get any bleeds off and then you will howl of terror, many druids will trinket that, if they do coil them right away and fear them, this will be a half fear but ull have plenty of time to get all dots up (with demon soul). Now they'll probably use dash/charge/skullbash to get back to you, and u could soulburn+portal after that and just try to kite and keep ur dots up. |
