Too many Warlocks?

So the question is, are we going to be swamped with Warlock in Mists of Pandaria? increasing the competition for puggable content, raiding positions and arena partners.
Despite doing well in both pvp and pve content I welcomed many of the changes Warlocks were getting in Mists of Pandaria, however this blessing seems to come at a cost. I have noticed an increase in Warlocks. On my server and on the forums, not to mention the mass of Warlocks on the PTR. There seems to be many fotm (Flavour of the month) players rolling a warlock for this expansion. |

I havent noticed it. Also I dont see the motivation for this to happen? Warlocks have been in an excellent shape in arena for the past 11 seasons, except maybe the start of S5 with DK insanity, then again in that season anything but DK was inferior.
If ppl wanted warlock for their OP-ness, they could have rolled one at any moment the past 6 years. |

Leveling Demo in AV? Man be serious. |

I don't think it's a risk to be honest, there are Monks coming and they can do everything.

Wouldnt worry, peeps will level their current main and a Monk, Warlocks will be nerf bound again and will be the fave prey of Rogues, feral Druids etc.,

I haven't noticed any increase on Live. As for the Beta, I'd say it is to be expected - The class is being changed a lot and receiving new mechanics, something that may have led many Warlock players to copy that character over to beta and spend more time testing it.
I don't think the increase is caused by fotm rerollers of any sort, although there will be some. After all, such drastic gameplay changes make locks into an "almost new" class. |

I've noticed the increase its slightly annoying to get whispers often in sw and getting asked about where i got this that and the other. How the spec works etc sure i help them but alot of people don't do there own research its annoying.
There will be lots of warlocks as people think they will be op in mists but i doubt these people will stay as warlocks as i've heard alot of people complain about our class. Hard to play, weak in pvp this is all true if you don't know what you are doing. I know that if they !@#$ up warlocks with these changes i will be changing mains.
I agree i've noticed some of the well known ones on realm stop playing. On a side note you are on lucky !@#$er. My raid group haven't seen any HC trinkets drop yet and you've only killed 2 hc bosses. I've killed 20 fml |

I just don't like how all the op classes will roll warlocks just to be op..pathetic and they should l2p.

There'll be far more monks than warlocks, at least for the inital boost when "everyone" has levelled a monk to 90 and started on the endgame content.
Warlocks are being changed in a major way, but so is every other class (except rogues, *snickers*). We don't have anything major that we didn't have before, sure, to use Demo and Destro's new mechanics are PURE AWESOME, but it's not quite a major pull factor. Also, because Pandaren can't be warlocks, we won't get the boost at the "second wave" where people want to play Pandaren (maybe of the opposite faction) that aren't monks. |

Well, I have had this lock pretty much since the beginning I levelled him to 85 and let him gather dust (mainly because My main was taking more of my attention) just recently I have started to play him again, I have also got in to the beta. I rolled lock because of the lore I had no idea what op was back in the day. But I share the Ops concerns the has been a sudden rise in locks like out of no where I now see a lot of low level locks frantically trying to level before MoP. I dont mind if it was just people realised that locks are awesome and fun to play. What I mind is that at the current stage in beta we seem to be very op and people are jumping on the bandwagon because of it imo. I really dont want us to become FoTM. Just my oppinion
To answer your question I think we will due to it looking like FoTM atm :( |

I wouldn't worry about those who roll FoTM, leveling a Warlock as we know takes a lot more than other classes & sure we'll be nerfed after MoP and they'll lose interest and leave it to us Pro's.

I agree, its all down to personal taste with a warlock where as players who do roll us as FoTM are most likely used to 1 button classes. |
