He limped his way across the bloodied grass.
How did it happen? The enemy had come upon them unseen and unawares, like a dagger in the mist. Dark-helmed warriors clashed at their hastily raised ranks, screaming wrath and ruin as they led their undead drudges to the fray. Black sorceries and foul enchantments crashed on their flanks; the work of their robed darkcasters. It was a rout before it even started. Men broke and ran, gibbering in fear. Retreat turned to rout, and rout into slaughter. Those who fled were pursued to the death by stalkers in the dark, armed to the teeth and cloaked in shadows. He fell down as the wound ached on his leg; a parting gift from his deathless hunters. Crawling now in the darkness, his eyes strained to see in the moonlight. The last thing he saw as the knife fell on his prone back was the standards of the Banshee Queen, flying on the night’s air atop the corpses of his friends. OOC: Thanks to Drexden for writing this fine piece. Unlike the Mortilus' orignial thread, this one will be a bit more explanatory. The Queen's Vanguard is a forsaken only military guild. It is a guild based in the northern parts of the Eastern Kingdoms that focuses on claiming the lands of the Alliance for the Banshee Queen and delivering the battle to the doorstep of the Wrynn dynasty. While we do all sorts of RP, we mostly focus on RP-PVP against the numerous Alliance guilds around the Eastern Kingdoms.Ranks There are a number of ranks within the Vanguard to better define the soldiers who serve under their banners. Executor While there is usually only one Executor within a unit, there appears to be two within the Vanguard who are equal. This is mostly due to a merging between the Queen's Vanguard and the Deathstalker unit. Mortilus Plaguethorn and Jaccon Wright lead the Vanguard as one and what they say is final, lest their title be put into a literal meaning. Dark Champion The ones who help organize and plan in the absense of the Executor's. While an Executor is present they also get a say in the way things are done, or more accurately; suggest the way in which things could be done. These champions of the Vanguarrd are much like the Executor's only they have less power. Vanguard The top soldiers within the Queen's Vanguard. Proven by battle and capable of great slaughter on the field. Vanguards are not to be taken lightly for they reach their rank through endless war and are at the top of their game. Deathguard The military backbone of the Vanguard, the meatshields in heavy armour and experts in close combat. The Deathguards have an ironic name within the Vanguard, for they guard the Darkcasters behind them to their death. Darkcaster The Darkcasters are the spell slingers and flingers of the Vanguard. Usually remaining behind the Deathguards as they reign destruction upon the battlefield. Deathstalker A rank given to those who are profficient in sneaking behind enemy lines, stealing intel and capping some Alliance soldier in the skull with a crossbow from a mile away. Full control of these men and women are given to Jaccon Wright. Initiate The fresh meat recruited into the suicide group. Those who have yet to prove their worth and that they can survive more than one battle on the field. The first stepping stone to becoming a full fledged member of the Queen's Vanguard. IC Plotline so far; more updates will come throughout the thread as the guild progresses! Following the recent turmoil in the Borderlands, the Queen’s Vanguard received substantial reinforcements from the various fronts of the Forsaken warmachine. By a stroke of luck the Vanguard also received information about an important prisoner being transported by ship from Kul’tiras to Stromgarde. Said prisoner was only refered to as “Ambercrest”. Having caught interest on the prisoner’s name, the executors of the Vanguard decided to intervene. Attacking the cove where the ship had docked, the Vanguard managed to find the prisoner, discovering it to be none other than the contested duke of the Ambercrests, Haradius Ambercrest. Failing to save the duke from the retaliating Arathi Honour Guard, the duke was lost to and executed by Cathan Felian. The corpse of the duke, however, was claimed by the Vanguard and reanimated. What plans the Vanguard has for the duke is unknown... After successfully claiming Faldir’s Cove from a group of pirates, the Vanguard also found themselves in possession of a ship. It’s captain Arfial Rotbraid worked tirelessly along with the Vanguard and a regiment of blood knights taking refuge in the cove alongside the Vanguard to make the ship ready for departure towards the shores of Silverpine. As the Vanguard and the blood knights were about to set sail from Faldir's Cove, an Alliance force crashed down upon the two units. After a gruesome battle to protect the ship as it was made ready to leave the cove, the Vanguard and the blood knights managed to escape the Alliance force. After dropping the blood knights off by the coast of Hillsbrad, the Vanguard continued towards Silverpine only to be intercepted by an Alliance fleet. Their ship, now dubbed the Scourgerender, was sunk. Along with it went captain Rotbraid. The Vanguard was eventually saved by a bypassing orcish fleet. After an eventful evening at sea, the Vanguard finally made it to the shores of Silverpine. Immediately being assaulted by worgen, their orcish escort was demolished. Wounded and badly equipped, the Vanguard arrived to the Rear Guard in Silverpine. Only to be greeted by a sentinel ambush. The Vanguard is now waiting for new supplies from the forsaken High Command... If those delightfully reprehensible Photoshop skills isn't enough to warrant your(yes, you!) interest in the one-and-only, undisputed pinnacle of Forsaken guild-centric roleplay, I don't know what anyone could possibly demand. Free gold, perhaps.

One of the best guilds I've ever joined.
OOC'ly the guild atmosphere is sublime, I find myself getting on immediately with everyone that has joined thus far and the complete lack of ooc drama is...well, a nice change. IC'ly I have been to a handful of events that were all really well planned and executed. All the forsaken within the guild are legit characters and for the first time...no blood elves and growth potions in a guild... Buuuump! |
