Pirate RP and Filling the bars of Booty Bay.

We've at present one zombie goblin sky pirate amongst our own number, but have enjoyed some fun roleplay with the Blightsail by times as well. Here's hoping they rediscover their activity as well. Mists of Pandaria certainly opens up a wealth of South China Sea pirate reference possibilities as well.
Cheng I Sao. Sao Feng. And of course the whole of the 19th century.... |

I support this a lot and will think about creating a new alt just to join!

Melon rum Tobias and Alastar, Lamp Oil Special reigns supreme. Also love dis, alas I would be full for it as Tobias said, a few of us spoke about this a couple of times. But now I am dead. I'd give a tip and leave the whole, governing body out. Trying a whole Village Hours is a good idea. I had plenty of events and furthermore written down, if you contact me I'd be happy to share them with someone dedicated to bringing RP to Booty Bay. |

Just a quick bump... And a note to say I'm not neglecting this idea, but am in the process of thinking about where to take it. As it stands I'm leaning more towards the idea of an event for now due to personally not wanting to run a complete guild, but if an event works more could follow soon after.
Should hopefully have a teaser/info thread for the event up tonight or tomorrow. :) |

An event, or perhaps series of events is a great idea, especially for those who want to get involved but have guild/other commitments preventing them from joining a participating guild.
Also I think its a great way to open it out to more people - guild rp is great, but this kind of goal needs that little extra to make it more than just a guild recruitment. Looking forward to seeing how it will be done. |

Just a small /bump of a reminder. And a note that as usual, the Iron Vulture is available to give support both out-of-character and in-character to such events as would promote roleplay in Booty Bay [and Ratchet].

Thanks fyne,
I'll add my own 'I haven't forgotten about this' note and just say that once the borderlands is over (which I can't find and end date/point for anywhere), I hope to run something in the vale. Also if I get enough of my Uni work done in the week I'll try hit you up for an OOC chat about my ideas and how the vulture will hopefully be able to get involved. :) Fizz. |

I'd love for some more life to arrive in BB. Rizz here lives there after all, and having a dwarf that she can't even communicate with for her most regular pal at the bar..
It's enough to give a greenie the blues! |

Pirates seem to be on a decline, atleast on the alliance side, have not heard of any pirate guilds that have lasted more then within their first week of creation.
Horde side however, seems to still have 1-2 active of em. |

Pirates seem to be on a decline, atleast on the alliance side, have not heard of any pirate guilds that have lasted more then within their first week of creation.Obviously you haven't heard of the Tide Raven. My own guild has been inactive for around 4 months now and I was been on a break. The only real problem with being a horde pirate, undead especially, it that there is no real place to be. Orgrimmar is not exactly undead-friendly, Silvermoon speaks for itself, Thunderbluff.... come on, and the over-military Undercity are not to welcoming of any undead not eager to pick up a sword and serve unquestionably. Oh, and since they took away the awesome inn in Brill there's even less reason to be there. They really need to make a Forsaken harbor in Lordaeron where we can stroll about and look suspicious. But until then, Booty Bay is about the best there is. |

Drink up m'hearties yoho. Teach may I suggest the Goblin Port in the Swamps of Sorrow mayhaps. It's got a bit more shady jungle mist feel to it, might fit you undead lot.

Indeed. :D In terms of just plain getting more people to the bay, perhaps the best option is to just have a plain old pirate's night. Once a week, or maybe fortnight, all the mischievous beings of both factions can come down to the bay and, well... Be Piratey. Any particular days anyone thinks will work well? In an IC context, on said day the Baron could invite all the captain's to attempt to sell their weekly plunder, offering safe haven from the authorities, whilst bargain hunters or un-ethical tradesmen can come and find some unusual items, no-questions asked. -------------------------------------------- For an event? Some kind of treasure hunting idea I have been thinking along recently. A pre-determined storyline with some kind of legendary booty (possibly something to do with the zandalari's to take advantage of all the ruins in the area. I have in my mind a few twists and turns to the story and all would be welcome to join up to the various groups involved (again in my head theres possibly 4, but its an idea). Like I said above, once I'm through with my Uni work I'll type up a more concrete plan and contact the various parties I think would be great to involve. Fizz. |

Actually, that's not a bad in-character excuse at all, with both real-world historical precedent ["auctions," they were usually called], and an in-game precedent [International Talk Like A Pirate Day in Booty Bay has roughly this excuse]. |
