[MoP RP Community concept] The Four winds.

Hello there, Argent dawn forum, so me and Marrowscar (well he started it), had this little idea of a guild for the kalimdor horde, where we have four "Masters" old and experienced masters at that of the classes:
Who can accept students or pupils, who probably could later form some sort of council (can't spell english :( ) for advice, regarding whether or not a studen should become a <insert warrior/hunter/rogue/monk "sub-class" (like monk being a blademaster)). So how does the pupils progress, well it is depending, they might be given tasks with the master, or the higher ranks, such as meditating going to a certain location, or just fighting any certain mobs, with the master, or infiltrating certain locations, depending if you are a rogue or not *grins*. That is all i have on my mind as of now... Feedback and such is welcome :). |

I simply love how enthusiastic and non-troll like you are concerning MoP, Kargy. ;)
That is the one thing that might have to be worked on, however it can be avoided with a weekly event or two. Perhaps one for said masters to discuss war / tactics / whatever, and one as training and such for the students. I'm quitting soon, so I won't be around to see this, sadly. However, it does look brilliant - good luck with it. |

Interesting! I might be the only person who is actually looking forward for MoP, truly.
I like the idea and would enjoy taking part in this! |

You're not! As for the concept: Looking good, Kargoth. If you can talk this into rules and balance the progression of people on something firm, I have my qualms with the concept. Keep it up! |

It is always great to see that some people like it, yes I was thinking about putting certain councils and trials up...

Interesting concept.
Although I'd consider it to be focused on paths rather than class. Path of the Wise/Strong, etc. |

This sounds like an awesome idea for a guild!
You could even take it a step farther and, at the end of the training, allow members to leave the guild without stigma, but with a "certificate", you could say, in wich the masters testify the person's mastery of their craft, thus allowing characters the chance to tag along with your guild for a while in exchange for certificates and a mastery they can use to obtain good positions in other military organizations. That thought actually only hit me just now, and would ofcourse only be part of the guild in my mind. Cant have all your members be temporary! Anyway, yes, I realy like this idea, and might actually like to take part in it on one of my characters. If your looking for more help, feel free to get in touch for a little talk, at least! |

Interesting concept.I thought about that, but it could go off in another direction. Keeping it into classes would be more "If you wanna become a blademaster, I hear ____ is taking apprentices." instead of well something like "You have 'x' pathes to go but you can only master one." It isn't specifically something that I could see easily connected into the Horde as it is now, perhaps in Thrall's horde. So, sorry but i feel more "safe" with the whole class restrictions. Your character wanna be a beastmaster, meet up with fellow pupils that wants to become that as well, by learning from a master in for instance Barrens, learning the ways of them, running with the cheetah, get a connection. I feel like what i just wrote was something abit too out of this world.... I am not sure. |

Yes, this is what I meant, but not what I understood the first time! |

Interesting concept. The paths are fairly open you know? Warrior - Path of Endurance/Path of Arms/Path of Strength Rogue - Path of Shadows/Path of Poison/Path of Speed Hunter - Path of the Wilds/Path of Arrow/Path of ?? Monk - Path of the Spirit/Path of Fists/Path of Wisdom |

My point was to not have it class rescricted, but rather just 4 mentors. Want to be a Warrior that chills with Shamans? Go to this guy!

Well... Haruhm, login, much to discuss >.>.

As the mastermind behind the original concept of this guild I'll fill in some blanks. I'm sure Karg won't mind since this was my idea to begin with ;)
In the original concept the guild was composed of four Blademasters each of whom carried the title "Of the <North/East/West/South Wind" with each of the winds being symbolic for instance the eastern wind emphasised the use of exotic blades and the integration of new methodolgies while the west wind was Traditional and more of a traditional Blademaster with the North wind represents cold brutality and single mindedness and the south emphasised passion and fury. These were the four schools or ways of the blademaster. In the original concept I discussed with Karg the guild filled two roles, the first was that it was a specialist mercenary unit so that during a campaign or guild event, guilds could request one of the winds to join thier ranks and assist them the highly skilled and powerful blademasters would test thier skill in the battlefield this way with occassional deployments as a unified force. The Four Winds was composed only of four members HOWEVER, each member had the option to take disciples/students in to the guild though the guild would always function as a collective ruled ICly and OOCly by a council of all four of the "Winds". To join a disciple would have to pass a challenge set by one of the winds overseen by atleast one other wind and of course applicants could ask to be a disciple to a specific wind however not all of the winds nessecarily would want a disciple. |

That sounds like a great guild idea. In my experiences master-apprentice roleplay is always very fun and (for lack of a better word) rewarding. Being an apprentice is also really good for starting characters to flesh out their personality and characteristics, I think. So good luck with it!
Nope, you're not the only one! *raises hand* |

Ok cool. And now I have several questions
1: what lvl do you need to be to join the guild? 2: how does the guild looks at the allience? 3: I know the guild has four masters, but is there like 1 (old) grandmaster or something like that who is the guild leader? |
