Which class to choose?

Hi!
I'd like to ask you about a little help. I want to make two alts - one alt I will boost up to 80 (by using RaF's bonus. it may be an ally or horde char, it doesn't matter) and second alt I will level up from 1-85 (this is gonna be a horde char). I don't care about racial bonuses and stats - I just care about a nice play and feeling good with the class/race. Some facts of my gamestyle: - I don't really like melee, I hate tanking. Best option for me is dps'ing, but healing is quite nice too. - My first character was a hunter - I've played him to 24 and dropped him - got bored. - Then I created a mage - that was it! I really love this class. I love arcane spec the most. Some people say "it's boring, you hit just 3 spells" but no, I really enjoy it. And I use more spells :) I've always liked to play with magic, maybe that's the reason why I liked mage more than hunter? - I wanted to make a dps/healing alt. I made priest - leveled him up to 48 and got bored. Shadow spec is really awful and boring, and healing proffs are quite boring too. I don't really enjoy this class. Then I made a druid - lvled him up to 68 and I really liked it. I like healing with him and I quite like dpsing. And now I don't know which chars to pick. I have two dillemas: Shaman or Warlock - which class should I pick and boost up to 80? Shaman seems nice, but I dislike totems. Warlock has more spells but tbh he seems to have too much spells and he's a bit complicated in playing, makes a bit confusion with everything. Hunter or Monk - I will level up one of them. It's going to be a blood elf char. I don't know if I will like the hunter or no. Maybe it will get boring again? Monk - I don't really like melee and it seems to be quite complicated in playing and a bit weird... Please help me :P |

So, to recap...don't like melee, tanks are out - that leaves ranged or casters.
Bored playing hunter and priest, not overly keen on either warlock or shaman...has got to be belf - that leaves 1 class, mage. |
|
Maybe Mage is the only class for you.
It's like that for me : I can't seem to DPS right in PvE, where as I excell at tanking (DPSing bores me...), that leaves Paladin/DK/Druid and Warrior for me. I'm just gonna level one of each to 85 now on a new realm. Don't roll an alt just to have an alt, if you don't like the gameplay of other toons then what is the point ? |
|
Ok, I can tell you but it will be very biased !
Warlock or Shaman ? - Shaman, just because you can Melee, cast, heal and you have heroism. Hunter or Monk ? - Monk starting zone will be overrun, it'll be hell, unless they plan it right, so, I would tend to say hunter and wait a while before leveling the monk, but then monk is gonna be new and exciting so if you don't mind the questing with 500 other monks stealing your mobs then go for it mate go monk :) Happy ? |

Just wondering if you have made your character already? My guild is kinda like a reroll guild, we're focusing on Vannila and TBC raids, at the appropriate levels. If you're interested, we're on Auchindoun, Horde side! /w Me on Health or Healed, if you decide to come :]

Health - no, I haven't. Well I think I'll pick a horde hunter. I will level him from 1 to 85 so I'm not sure if I should choose ur offer.. But besides that - how's horde (and alliance) Auchindoun community? Are there many players? I wanted to create my hunter on Kul Tiras server, but sadly our server is quite dead.. especially horde side... and I want a realm with medium/big (not overcrowded) population.
And if it comes to the second choose - I still don't know if I should pick Shaman or Warlock. Could you discribe me a little bit warlock's style? I wonder if warlock's playstyle (dots, spells etc) isn't too hard. And which class will be "funnier" to play in MoP? I don't really care about shaman melee/heal and warlock demo~ specs. |
|
I had a shaman which i enjoyed in dungeons and raids. It was fairly easy to play imo and i'm not one who is too up on rotations etc but nobody seemed to moan at me :)
I really enjoyed the class but i found ele spec lacking in pvp compared to how it had been at lvl 80 so i went back to my melee classes. Warlock and shaman are two of my favourite pve classes but as i'm quite into pvp these days i had to leave them behind.Although in MoP things could be improving. I don't think lock is too difficult to play and from what i hear they are getting some nice abilities in the expansion but they are maybe slightly harder to play than ele shaman but really not hard once you get the hang of it. But ofc starting at 80 you have a lot to learn at once. |

Destruction Warlock isn't to hard.
They seem fun too me, at least what I seen while levelling. but I have too say I don't know how they are doing on beta. |

I can reply to your question playing warlock, i just dinged a 85 warlock but i got a 2 year experience also pre tbc. Just created a new one by scroll of ress :).
In PvE I preferd demo class. Just to rush the instances. Just dotting the targets and casting. The downside is you can't crit as hard that other does. But your AoE damage is good. I tried affli and its to boring for me.. In PvP I always played as Destro, just because I like the casting type of warlock while dots also do damage. Dots do less damage but you can have some nice crits. Not as good mages but decent. For what I noticed now is that I get raped easy if some rogue sneeks me up. You will miss blink or frosting it like a mage. Anyways its your decision! Goodluck ;) |

Rookki - and if it comes to raid? Which warlock spec's best?
Well I think I may get bored at warlock.. but seems more... unique for me. more spells than shaman... and tbh shaman would be even more boring |
|
Yeah but you probably don't use a lot of the warlock spells unless you pvp.
In dungeons stuff dies fast apart from the big elites. You don't often have time to use dots. Shaman is getting more nice stuff in the expansion, where as the lock stuff seems mostly healing yourself and shielding yourself type abilities. I'm not saying lock is not as good but i wouldn't so easily dismiss shaman. Cos you say you enjoy arcane even though it can be simple at times.I also have a mage at 85 and i think shaman has more involved gameplay. |
|
You could trye to use the bost for the hunter tbh they become alot more fun at higher lvls
that goes for just about all classes do but a few realy improve and personaly i think druids hunters shamans and palladins improve the most but that my feeling on the matter. |

Druid maybe? They can heal and dps at a long range.
